My Leatherman Charge story. I was on my way back to Phoenix and I had to go pee and held it as long as I could. In a panic about to piss my pants I pulled over on the highway about 15 minutes outside of Dateland at a random spot...got out and opened my two doors on my truck for privacy. Whipped my pecker out and look straight down and there was a brand new Leatherman Charge right at my feet. Not even dusty or dirty from the desert elements. Someone obviously pulled over at that same location not long before...used it once and dropped it. It's been in my truck ever since and it's been my good luck tool for years!!!
It's my EDC, since i bought it in january 2024. Best multitool i ever had. A version with a less expensive blade in the price range of the Free P4, but with the tool configuration of the ARC would be nice.
Gotta love the arc, did not experience any issues on the hard wire cutters. Every tool it comes handy for me (even the impact surface tool) i have a buddy of mine that makes a custom heavy duty leather holster for it that can be worn even without a belt.
Finally ordered mine today, can’t wait for it to come in. Been using my Dad’s pst since he passed away, but almost lost it and decided to order the arc and leave the pst in my house. I’ll be pissed if I lose the arc, but if I lost my dad’s pst, I’d be heartbroken.
@@shrimpm4445 thank you; and yes I am enjoying it. I was blessed to inherit a few rental properties from him, so with all the recent rain in Texas, I’m doing yard work on them every other day and the arc has been used already here and there. It’s been great. I just have to get used to the weight
Is it worth it? For me it would be. I have a wave and I use it at least 4-5 times a day. I have a farm and a landscaping business. Leatherman is the best tool I’ve ever invested in. I will be getting one of these as soon as I can.
I bought the obsidian limited edition arc and it’s so pretty I don’t want to use it. I was gona get regular arc but then for 75 less I went with free p4 and I like it. For 150 free p4 is excellent choice. Get it while you can cuz they’re discontinued.
I own every leatherman from the original PST to now. The ARC or Surge are usually my choice for EDC. Supertools, Rebars and Waves are packed in various first aid kits, trucks, and backpacks. 🤷🏽♂️
I wish it had the serrated blade/gut hook combo instead of the mini eyeglass bit driver that could have been incorporated into the Normal bit driver and this would be perfect
Long time TTi Charge user, then carrier a Free P4 at my new office job (was in antiques resto for 22 years). I found the Free P4 file a joke and never use a serrated blade, and couldn't use bit kit with it. ARC is the perfect merger of the two, and having my diamond file back is wonderful too. Sure, did I shell out $199.99 out for the ARC? Yes, but it is worth it. IMO
Love my surge but it doesn't cut through wire real good. I wish you guys would make the crunch again. Also the main blade on my was really badly sharpened and it would be awesome if you just sold the magnacut blade separately so I could replace the blade in my surge.
I need to see one , before I can Judge , ATM , I schlep a Wave + , a Charge + , or my Surge . ( Also a Vic. Spirit MX Clip , when I want something more compact!
I would buy it, but it doesn't have a serrated blade. A small watch screwdriver takes up a lot of space. It's a useful item, it could be made without the bit holder as a separate accessory hidden somewhere in the case.
That’s awesome, been carrying my Berber suspension nxt for the last couple years hasn’t let me down yet. Maybe someday I’ll buy this Gucci multitool but I’ll be too scared to use it 😂
It would be a very solid tool if it had a serrated blade instead of the awl like the wave +. It has all the wave tools in a better position but it's missing the serrated blade.
I emailed and asked. The tool has been fixed to not have a gap at the bottom and they will replace any arc sent in with the cutter fault. according to Leatherman.
Why do companies make an improvement on a tool but always down grade a solid function? Like leatherman had one of the best if not thee best wore cutters but changed them so they kinda suck now... like is the thought process "alright guys we can't make this too good or we might lose something to improve later"? I'm genuinely curious.
The blade on my Leatherman Free K2 was not heat treated properly so it goes dull after very light use. It went from hair shaving sharp to not even sharp enough to cut your skin just from cutting weed eater cord. My Leatherman Skeletool has rusted so badly I had to get a pair of pliers to open it. And it wasn’t even in the elements. The thing stays put up in my car. And the scissors on my Leatherman Micra don’t cut worth a shit. They’ve become so dull they won’t even cut paper anymore. That would be fine if the thing was old, but I’ve only had it for 2 years. I can confidently say, there’s no way in fucking heII id ever pay $250 for a Leatherman Arc. I will never give another cent of my money to this company. I gave them 3 chances and the quality of their tools was shit all 3 times. The next multi tool I get will be a Victorinox or a Gerber.
I'd STAY AWAY if I were you. I paid Leatherman their $230 plus extra $20 for engraving, only to receive it and it looks like the engraving was done by a 3 year old. I tried to call them but they never pick up so I emailed them, only to be told that they acknowledged that the engraving was horrible but they were only offering to refund the $20 engraving fee and leave me with a horrific looking $230 multi-tool. I suggest you walk away, their service is horrendous.

Please leatherman, make a serrated knife option instead of the saw! These should be an option on your website and would take next to no modification. Charge me $10 extra to be able to choose! You offer other custom options. Make this one included in the list
@@STElevation a serrated blade is very useful for all kinds of cutting tasks. Saw is very specific. I don’t want to dull my main blade when cutting boxes or rope. Serrated to cut heavy duty strapping. Not sure what people use the saw for. I’ve never once needed one. What do u use your saw for?

In all fairness, this is more of a novelty item. The pliers are weak to say the least and trying to use the Arc as a screwdriver, might as well just use spaghetti. Money much rather well spent on a surge or even a wave. The blade is nothing to lose sleep over. Keep any other Leatherman blade sharp and it does the same job.
