  • Here I show you how to put together a simple waterfowl load you can put in any hull, with any primer and any shot size. Here is the load... 1-1/4 ounce steel shot, 35 grains Steel powder, LBC50 wad, 1450-1480 FPS.

    Tried some .25 steel slingshot ammo at wallyWorld couple of weeks ago and done a few 2-3/4 inch 12 and 20 Guage loads.. works really good.. feels fast but very light recoil at about 1 to 1-1/8 Oz. Kinda expensive tho.

      ⁠there is load out there, called (10gaOkie HG load). Very similar to this load. Csd118 or LBC43 wad 32-34 Asteel, 1 1/8 oz of steel shot. Google it there lots of info regarding 10gaOkie HG load.

      I'm away from home for the holidays, and besides that have no time to get to making videos and expanding this channel.
      Here is the load in case I never get to making a video about it.
      2-3/4" Cheddite hull/primer.
      32 grains Longhsot.
      MG42 wad
      1 ounce steel (#2 to #4 is ideal)
      Fold crimp.
      11,400 PSI
      1570 FPS.

    I’m wondering if you could be of a little help, thanks in advance for your time and help. I’m looking for a Wad I can use to reload some 28ga. TSS / Steel Duplex load. I can’t find 28ga. TPS Wads ANYWHERE. I’m sure there has to be something out there. Thanks again for ANYONE that can help me out.

      @@outdoorswithroostercurrie6984 I would consider the HV28 wad... Not sure if there is a TSS/steel load using it, but @bullet225ho has what he called the "cheat code" duplexing TSS and bismuth.

    My published load in the Remington I reload is only 26 grains of steel powder to 11/4 oz curious on if I’m losing velocity or if your load would be ‘unsafe’ for it lol

    On average, How many shells can you load with a 1 pound bottle of The Alliant steel powder?

      7000 grains in a pound divided by 35 grains per load equals 200 loads.

    Can I lower the powder charge to 34 gr? With 35gr I cant get a very good crimp on them.

    Was the original load 32.5 gr of alliant steel powder?

      I'm not sure, there are several like it with lower powder charges. I haven't personally tested this for pressures. My friend who gave me this load (who works in the industry) said he did and it's in spec. I'm guessing it's on the upper end. All I know is it kills ducks pretty well. I might do a follow up video pattering and sharing the P/V results from my own testing.

    Just subbed good content Have you any experience with loading bismuth?? I have some older fixed choke guns I wanted to try some bismuth in. You might like my other channel Badlands ballistics

      Yes, my 2-3/4" bismuth load was stolen then bastardized by a bigger company... I might make some videos soon on some hammer jammer bismuth loads.

      @@saltcreekammo doesn’t sound like they’re really any magic tricks about loading bismuth and I think it’s pretty cost-effective, even though the materials are so expensive

      Never really patterned them. All I know is they shoot very well on ducks. Been my go-to cheapo/bulk load for a few years now.

    Just wondering what the pressure is of your load? I’m loading 1oz steel with 1/4 oz of of tss. With 31.5 grains of alliant steel with cheddite hulls an it does a ticket on waterfowl. Wanted to bump up fps but Leary of pressure.

      I don't think I have. The pellet count isn't ideal. I like the 1-1/8oz with #4's

    Would using the TPS 12 3” wads be a problem instead of the LBC50?

      There are loads with the TPS in 3.5" with more powder, so I assume it'd be fine as long as it all fit together tiddy. I would test it in a 3.5" gun as well (for pressure safety).

    Is there any variance in pressure between all those hulls? Not trying to die over saving 25c a shell lol

      There probably is, but I've never had an issue shooting them. The developer of the load had them pressure tested in multiple hulls. You will also run lower pressures if you load it conventionally without a rolling crimp finisher. Hope this helps... The original load was under 1400 FPS at 33 grains. So if you want to run it there, go for it.

      No, that's a common misunderstanding. If it's an issue, simply use the steel shot of your choice.

      Ive seen pictures of older fixed choke guns with barrels bulged from it.. I actually whitnessed my buddy ruin a brand new rem 870 with less than 15 rounds.. Sparks flew from muzzle as he shot. He was using the TPS wads in fed hulls as yours.
      Super Mag barrel. He split the choke tube by
      using the steel airgun shot in his reloads
      As he was unable to locate BB. Super Sam steel... So he went bought 7 or 8 bottles of daisy BB'S.. And it was a steel rated modified tube that the gun came with... Personally i wouldnt..but thats my choice from experience.

      Sort of... It's made to finish fold crimps, but can roll crimp shells as well. I like the Reloaders Network 4 pin roll crimp tool over the GAEP tool I'm using here to roll crimp.

    Would the TUPRW123 wad work with this load ?
    I use the TUPRW105 for my ten gauge loads and i notice the wad is much thicker.
    It works great with BB gun BBS the wad looks great after shooting.

      It tapers the crimp for more reliable feeding (and ignition).

    Air rifle BBs ARE NOT annealed and are MUCH harder than steel shot used for waterfowl ammunition!!! You'd better have a VERY tough wad, or you will absolutely risk barrel scoring. Being harder shot, it will also run at higher pressures because it won't set back or flow through the choke as easily as annealed steel shot. C'mon man. You're going to get somebody hurt or at least damage a barrel

      Even if anything you claim is true, none of that matters when you're using a wad rated for tungsten super shot, which is harder than any steel out there. Been shooting ducks this way for 5+ years now in multiple guns with no issues... Happy hunting.

      @@MrJuiceyjuice9 tungsten is more dense and harder than any iron steel out there. That's a fact. The main point is these coated BB's aren't going to harm modern shotgun barrels-- which are usually chrome lined, adding even more hardness and protection to the inside of barrels.
      You do you all you want, but i've shot hundreds of loads like this without issue. Put commercial steel shot in this load. Makes no difference.

      I use air gun bbs no scoring or anything they are the same hardness as normal steel shot they are a shot size B not true BB

      Any non magnum primer will work... I typically use a CX2000 (cheddite) or Win209.

      I use mostly Cheddite and Winchester primers.
