    yes you can adjust the powder in a mec bushing by adding tape to the inside of the bushing to lessen the amount...if you need more powder...you go to the next size bushing and add tape to lessen it to the correct amount

    i like your little operation ! nice and Compact usually everyone i know personally that Reloads fill up a 6 foot table or Workbench i bet if you bought a small electric motor off Ebay (cheap) you could fabricate a Auger for your Hopper that should eliminate you having to bang on it between dispensing. i’ve seen little motors for under $20.00 that can runoff of batteries or even a plugged in AC to DC converter i personally save and reuse Converters from kids Toys , Cell Phones , and electronics but those can be cheap universal ones at Walmart or wherever

    If you're shot isn't at or about half a pellet above the wad lip, put an overshot card on the top of the shot column and then crimp. You will not only get a better crimp, but you're also sealing the round that much better. Also with new hulls, rotate the round about 1/3 and reapply the final crimp 2 more times, rotating 1/3 each time. Your crimps should stay tight.

    If you reduce the charge back to 25 grains the PSI should drop to about 10700 and the FPS should be about 1150 to 1225.

    Have you try 2 3/4" hull before for you waterfowl loads? Im now finally reloading some steel load the one I am doing is from tps load data from ballistic products. 2 3/4" cheddite hull/ primer, 23 gr of longshot powder ( i put 22.8 gr for the first 8 test loads which im planing on going down to 22 gr for the rest of my 192 loads), 2 3/4" tps wads, 1 1/8 oz 492 gr of steel shot ( for the first 8 i use daisy bbs which are b shot .170 mm. I'll be load the rest with 4 or 3 for ducks), fold crimp going at 1250 fps with 10,800 psi with 23 gr of powder at 22 gr it should get the load down to 10,330 psi which should keep the load in safe psi.

      Not really, I'm a 3 or 3 1/2 hull for waterfowl. Here in the Prairie the shots are away longer than we like. Not much cover to hide behind. But I do 2 3/4 for doves.

    What powder are you using for this?

  • @thastinger345
    @thastinger345 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Here is what I've discovered with this loader/plastic powder bushings/Longshot combo....static builds up in the bushing and powder clings to the inside of the bushing, so after about 20 rounds, you'll start throwing low powder charges that are about 1.5gr lite. I've solved it by going with the next size larger bushing, throwing 20 or so charges to let the powder build up inside the bushing, then start loading.
    Of course, you can modify any of the bushings with a round file to make them a little larger or nail polish to make them throw less.
    I only load 2.75 BB in mine, so I've custom modified a couple of the powder bushings to throw 23.5 or 25.5gr depending on the wad I'm using (read the one I can find at the time).

    • @mightyjoeyoung1390

      Just take a dryer sheet and rub down everything the powder touches and you'll be able to load hundreds of rounds before needing to do it again.

    • @thastinger345
      @thastinger345 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mightyjoeyoung1390 Wish it were that easy. I've tried it and it doesn't work. It isn't static cling, it is that LS is "oily" and physically sticks to plastic pieces and forms a hard coating of power grains, it'll stick like that to the powder hopper as well.
