No interviewers like this guy today. Very professional. Actually asks good questions....how the hell do people today become interviewers? These are well done 👌
I once saw an interview of the dune 2 cast by a young woman who seemed new at the job. It was fantastic, and her intelligently posed questions left the cast speechless. Very impressive.
What lovely people! Jim Carrey can talk about being successful so quickly and straightforwardly, yet not sound conceited or arrogant at all. And the interviewer is concerned about genuinely listening, and maintaining silence for Jim to explore more of what he wants to say. Not a "show", but an actual interview ❤.
How professional is this interviewer?! It's a shame there aren't more pop-culture journalists out there today. Somewhere along the line we traded them in for people who write click bait articles...
Was there ever a better interviewer of celebrities and actors than Brian Linehan? He was able to draw things out of them and engage with them in a way I’ve seldom, if ever, seen. And almost invariably they give him his props, or thank him for the questions, at the end.
@@michaelromeo9567 Listen to the interview. You don't understand the times. He was nothing, then was suddenly being watched by Rodney Dangerfield and asked to be on Johnny Carson. You might not know those people, but they were very famous at the time.
@@alukuhito I was just trying to make a Joke with the word Universe. Of course he became suddenly the biggest Comedian/star on the planet. I LOVE Jim. Jim Carrey was obviously a genius to anyone paying attention in 1983. We who've enjoyed his career over the years are grateful that he was recognized as such! Lucky (and wealthy) are the talent agents who've signed him. Rich in spirit are those of us who've seen his fantastic work and career!
I’m 16 year old girl and Jim Carrey been my biggest idol, just because he has the same backstory as me and I still am struggling, not with the death part of his mother but the poor side, and he showed me that if I put my mind to things or a certain goal, it can be possible
Thanks a lot for this, for those, who uploaded this gold. Jim Carrey is my most favorite comedian, in the world. 1983 is the Best year, in all universe.
¡¡Que hermoso es Jim!! Uno de los actores más hermosos y un hombre increíble, me encanta su forma de actuar y su humildad, me encantaría conocerlo, es uno de mis actores favoritos ❤🥰😍🤩
Brian Linehan, the intense and talented interviewer, was a very well known Canadian interviewer from the 70' - 90's. He was famous for being well prepared and researching his subjects lives so thoroughly many were left baffled, unsettled but ultimately flattered. His in depth interviews which rejected tabloid or sensationlistic journalism resonated with all the celebrities he encountered which earned him their respect and loyalty. Somewhere in the 90's he lost almost all his personal contact information for the people he had interviewed and found it increasingly difficult to track them down. This hurt his career which slowed down considerably in the mid to.late 90's. He died in 2004 of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. This was Jim Carrey's seventh t.v interview in Canada where he had made some name for himself by this point as a stand up comedian. His first major role being in the comedy/horror ' movie Once Bitten' in 1985.
This is the Era of City Lights I remember. If I stayed home from school it would come on at I believe 11am on Citytv. Funny to think I could have been watching this show previewing a future legend.
This was VERY inspiring! Was good to see jim Carey in his your days and her his opinion. Also I think this interview was amazing, his questions and listening skills were brilliant! He also had that stare of death that makes you take him seriously! Fantastic I'll be watching more defo!
his mention of feeling like henry fonda caused him to look like henry fonda is cellular memory; he is able to feel that real fear and convey it by feeling and receiving that feeling himself
Thursday, September 17, 2015--6:17 am CSTA great interview of Jim Carrey when he was younger. Now Dr. Jim Carrey is now 53 years old, has a 28 year old daughter, and 5-year-old grandson.
Back in day Jim Carrey was kinda of cute. I ❤ his movies liar liar. The ace ventura movies. Mr. Popper's penguins. Its weird seeing a humble side of Jim Carrey.

Meteoric success? Wait till 1994 when he basically just conquers the world and becomes and the most famous actor in the Universe.

Seems like he had anxiety. The over the top behavior is a cover for the anxiety.

All great actors are simple men, when you watch them at their first interviews. After, something happens to them and there is 'The Mask'.😏
I see Jerry Lewis i his later works!
before he became political,, and pissed on fans...
ill still choose him over crazy and fake people like will smith and kevin hart
No, Jim is not !!! Lenny Bruce. One would need to be bipolar to understand this.
