There's touring dj night called emo night in the US and they play emo songs and serve drinks and stuff, anytime they play this song, I get some demons out and scream my little heart out cause I'm also not okay. Thank you for reminding me this song exists
I reckon you'd enjoy the video too if you haven't seen it by now. Sad to say back when i was in high school i was into "real metal" and rejected this. But I listen to MCR unapologetically now. So good.
I musta been in my 30s when this came out still hooked. 51 now. STILL not ok. But i am still fighting. That is the point. 21 years clean, many nental issues fron childhood trauma i thought idealt with, health issues taking me out. 2022 still haunting me. .list my5 months of mylife, my leg, my mom, my cat....but we keep fighting. Trying to be ok
Yesss. I got hooked by Thank you For the Venom and Dead first time I heard those. Before that, I had only heard the name of the band in passing. Thought they were a pop boyband or something so I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely give the band a listen! They’ve got a lot of great songs.
Their first two albums are thrash metal inspired horror punk albums, so think Misfits if they were heavier but also very hooky at the same time. Third one is a Queen inspired rock opera, and 4th is an awesome Brit pop and garage rock inspired romp through a post apocalyptic Californian wasteland. Take your pick of the tastiest sounding project, and enjoy the rest after :))
I've watched a ton of your reactions, but this was by far my favorite!! From the very beginning when the beat took hold of you to you saying you could tell he's not ok... Enjoyable all the way thru!! You need to do Heart - Magic Man. Im actually baffled that you havent done it yet!
This is the ONLY song I liked by them. lol. Just never enough to get into them really, that being said it’s completely okay to not be okay! 😝 Are they even a band still? 🤷🏻♀️
They infamously broke up on the 22nd of March 2013, but quietly reformed and released a new single in recent years. They seemed to have a whole new era rollout plan that would’ve gone ahead for an album announcement, if not for the ~global viral situation~. I was personally 1 years old when this song came out 😅, they actually garnered a huge cult following of Gen Z fans sort of around the time they broke up/post break up and as a result, they had an awesome mix of folks from like 12-60 in the crowd for their reunion tour.
Another highschool JAM! This was my life lol

It hits so hard 😂
This is the only song I've ever knowingly heard by them, and it the first time I've heard it - not bad at all. Might have to dive in!
Their early stuff is FULL of bangers.
