For the most beautiful basketball you’ve ever seen, check out the 1992 Dream Team documentary. 11 future Hall of Famers. It was a surreal time Everyone was glued to their TVs every time they played. Larry and Magic were co-captains. Last time they played. I watch often and it still makes me feel like it did when I saw it live. It seems long at just over an hour, but everyone who didn’t break it up is in awe and wanted more 🥰
Btw, Larry wasn’t done when he retired…he coached the Indiana Pacers for 3 years & won the Coach of the Year Award. After that he became President of Pacers Operations & won Executive of the Year as well. The ONLY NBA player EVER to do that.
Bird was actually putting spin on his passes, even behind his back. That’s why he could hit people anywhere on the court. She’s so correct! Larry was so much FUN to watch play. He was always going to do something extraordinary in every game you watched him play. Great reaction! Definitely do making the Case, and Trash Talking.
The best is everybody saying he’s not fast, not athletic, can’t jump, yet he would tell everyone what he was going to do, and from where, still nobody’s stopping him.
I love that you brought your love to watch! She's very intuitive and thoughtful in her observations! And your enthusiasm is contagious! Thank you both for the great reactions! Since your love enjoys the passes now you know you have to show her the best passes video!!! ❤❤❤❤
During that game against the Pacers where Larry fell and fractured his right cheek, he was sitting in the locker during the 3rd quarter watching the game. He said he couldn't "leave those guys out there all by themselves." So he checked back into the game to help them, and they ended up winning. I think it's funny how his entire team being out there without him was them "being all by themselves", LOL. So they needed him. He wasn't wrong.
One other note was that he couldn't stand to see the pure cockiness of Chuck Pearson during that last quarter. He was prancing around the court showing off since Bird was out. They thought for sure the game was in the bag! Until Larry cane out of the locker room! It was also a playoff game, I believe! 😅
She might really enjoy the _Making the Case for the 1986 Celtics_ and _The Beautiful Game 1986 Celtics_ and Bird's "I should have quit right there" video by that same channel.
Barkley said the reason Bird couldn't jump or run was to make it fair for everyone else. One of the best quotes was from Coach Pat Riley. If I need someone to shoot the last shot to win a game. Michael Jordan If I need someone to shoot a shot to save my life. Larry Bird All you need to know...
Others will say this but the mix tape video is not the best there is. The courtship of rivals video will seriously bring tears to your eyes. His greatest passing video and any of the trash talking videos, all these hall of famers he played against sharing their stories. Those are the must see videos in my opinion
Magic was 6'9" and according to Jamal Mashburn, as a college player playing against Bird, he said, " You don't realize how tall he is. Bird's legit 6'10"." 30-40 years ago, 6'10" guys didn't have an outside game, were limited to the post, and weren't known for handles or passing. He was also the founding member of the 50/40/90 club. He's also the only player to win MVP 3 years in a row and that was behind Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. The man was a beast. He played half of his career with an injury that should have ended it And also had double achilles surgery. He played so hard that his body started breaking down. By the way, him and Magic won, I believe, eight out of 10 of all of the finals in the '80s. Detroit was kind of pain in the ass for both of them. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Have a good one. 🙏
That game he played left handed through 3 quarters and had 27 points, he finished that game with 47 points. Larry won 3 championships. He also won the MVP 3 years in a row.
Its like a damned movie that he and Magic ended up close friends. Genuinely as men as well as players. He was a technically correct player. the game is differently executed now.
James Worthy said Jordan makes you look slow Larry makes you look stupid. It was said the Larry was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers
yo, THEHBKSHOW, actually Larry Legend was a full 6'10" forget his listed height, look at pictures of him standing next to Mchale and parish, plus check Jamal Mashburn talkin about how Bird trashed the college all stars when they played the Dream Team...ok good one, Larry Legend, the real GOAT!
Larry's college was playing mine and we heard they had a future all American on their team. So during warm ups we tried to guess which black player he was! Well we were wrong! He beat our league champion team and set our arena scoring record! He rocked, you TOO! Peace from Northern Michigan.
It took a broken back and surgery on his Achilles tendons to make him quit after just 13 seasons. He and Magic, and also later with Jordan, are close friends. You have to see Larry's " Greatest Passer" videos and the Dream Team documentary.
If you like Magic and Larry you've got to react to "A Courtship of Rivals". It's the story of how the two literally saved the NBA and eventually became the best of friends.
Larry never took more than a Tylenol from what all his teammates have said.. he just had grit. Can you tell me any player out there today that would play with that much heart and pain? In any sport today they just don't play with the same level of passion.
".... in 1986, Hall of Fame Boston Celtics small forward Larry Bird played one of his most iconic contests, the legendary left-handed game against the Portland Trail Blazers. The game was a 120-119 win in overtime on the road at Moda Center in Portland........" "..... the Celtic great decided to shoot heavily with his off-hand, (for those who do not know, his left). The Hick From French Lick - as Bird is sometimes affectionately called - produced a ridiculous stat line of 47 points, 14 rebounds, 11 assists, a steal, and 2 blocks in 49 minutes of floor time. Larry Legend hit 21 of his 34 field goal attempts, 10 of which he shot left-handed, and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line."
I've been a Laker's fan since before they got Earvin, and watched that MSU/ ISU game. Bird could burn you every way. Need 50 points? No problem. Need to draw everybody so Parish or McHale could shoot? Done. Nobody could stop him so they resigned themselves to trying to stop his teammates. He was a pain in the backside, but we respect the Legend he is
I Read A Comment On Someone's Reaction A Long Time Ago And This Person Said His Brother Went To High School With Bird. And That One Day His Teammate's Complained To The Coach About Getting Hit In The Head & Face Because Bird's Passing. So At The Next Practice The Coach Made Them Where Football Helmets, ha ha ha. So Yes It Started In High School That Bird Had That Gift For Passing & His Coaches Loved It.
His sophomore year of high school his first or second practice he broke his ankle in two places and tore the ligaments. While he was on crutches he practiced shooting left handed. The night before that playoff game against the Pacers when he fractured his cheek bone he spent in the hospital in traction for his back. You should react to the 5 times Larry Bird was injured but refused to quit and the 4 times he played hurt but showed male toughness. Nobody else like him. He stands alone.
the point of taking Rambis out on that break was to show the lakers 'no more fastbreaks" now you have to stand in the middle of the ring and trade punches
Saw the man play against the Pistons back in the day. To me the Pistons and a little later the Bulls were just as much a thing as the Lakers and Celtics in the mid 80s to early 90s.
IMO, Magic & Larry resurrected the game of basketball...My dad loved basketball, but stopped watching, until the competition between Johnson & Bird was highlighted...What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who wasn't only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, football, baseball, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, & what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique & gifted players, I ever watched! I copied some links for you to watch or react to, that will explain how amazing Larry was 😊 50 Amazing Assists: th-cam.com/video/baBdnA7cui0/w-d-xo.html Best Trash Talker: th-cam.com/video/v7Id88T5DPs/w-d-xo.html Best Passer of all time: th-cam.com/video/CExjzyTRxnQ/w-d-xo.html Larry Bird No Choir Boy(tough side of Larry Bird) th-cam.com/video/2oIgYyYEyAI/w-d-xo.html Larry's 60 point game: th-cam.com/video/uJ__yWoq-lo/w-d-xo.html and Larry Bird & Magic Johnson, A courtship of rivals documentary: th-cam.com/video/axbIoHqFaa8/w-d-xo.html *HAVE FUN* 😊
All right now that right there is potential wifey material for you! She looking at you and you looking at her in the eyes so I see a little chemistry there. She got the cross. She's a cutie and be careful cuz Somebody going to come snatch her up. Peace bro💯
Everyone really needs to stop saying he wasnt fast or athletic...he was just tricky. You're making his competitors look worse than you are him when you say that. He just does it in a more controlled way. You cant do the things he did if you werent fast and athletic. Its not chess...even though thats how he played it.
Her insight was fantastic.
LMAO
Larry Birds retirement was not on a game night. Everyone was there for only Bird. Sold out!
It was aired as a special live event. It was just see TV that week and all the talk.
What a GREAT era of basketball! So many tremendous players, Bird, Magic, Moses Malone, Dr. J, Kareem, and so many other all time greats!

@@bobsylvester88 Absolutely.

Wonderful commentary, I loved it! Thank you very much.
Magic wore the Celtic jersey under his Laker warm up suit for Larry. Their story is incredible.
Bird also won Coach of the year and executive of the year. NOBODY else has ever done that. Also took 1,000 practice shots everyday.
The best is everybody saying he’s not fast, not athletic, can’t jump, yet he would tell everyone what he was going to do, and from where, still nobody’s stopping him.
Actually 6'10
His situational awareness was unmatched
Larry Legend
It's a long one but a courtship of rivals is one of the best sports documentaries ever
A good one for sure! It explains everything Bird and Magic went through
I love that you brought your love to watch! She's very intuitive and thoughtful in her observations! And your enthusiasm is contagious! Thank you both for the great reactions! Since your love enjoys the passes now you know you have to show her the best passes video!!! ❤❤❤❤

5:39 when bird catches it in mid air and shoots its, does that count as an Alley-oop three pointer? 🤔🤔
Magic & Larry saved the NBA. Literally
LARRY LEGEND IS A UNICORN AND THE *TRUE* GOAT!!! 🐐 ☘️
great reaction cheers
Larry the legend bird is the goat
Im 68 and he was definatly the best baller I ever watched.
Bird had no weakness to his game. I believe he is the best overall player ever. His career was shortened by injury, but at his peak he was amazing.
He won the first 3 three point contests
He only play thirteen seasons and his team still holds the home win record. In two years they only lost four home games.
Great reaction!!! 👍
Women's professional basketball ball could learn a valuable lesson from bird and Johnson...
The one true Goat, Larry Joe!
Great reaction Guys!! React to more Larry Bird!!!
If I didn’t see Larry Bird play with my own eyes and follow his career. I would swear this mixtape was A I … Larry was crazy Good
I will add - Not only does Larry play injured, he did not take any medications. NONE!
Bird was the best shooter in the league for years Jo’s while career, he was the king of the three ball before everyone else started shooting threes
She might really enjoy the _Making the Case for the 1986 Celtics_ and _The Beautiful Game 1986 Celtics_

All you need to know...
the Celts and lakers played in ever single championship in the 80s
Celts took three and Lakers took five leaving only two for everyone else. Dr.J and Moses Malone got one in 83 and the Bad Boys got one in 89.
Larry and Magic's last game in college was against each other, Magic got the win.
Think about those team players who were so alert to Birds actions too.
Do Larry Bird's passing compliation. Crazy, they started calling him a quarterback.
Others will say this but the mix tape video is not the best there is. The courtship of rivals video will seriously bring tears to your eyes. I love his mixtape the best. It is a great survey of ALL his skills.
Your girl knows what she is talking about larry.
You need to have your girl closer to you guy. 🏀🏀🏀

You should do Courtship of Rivals Bird and Magic. It's a long one but a great one
Magic said about Larry Legend: “if the game is close, & there’s any time on the clock, Larry would find a way to win that game”
The video where he is wearing the red all-star jersey during the 3-point contest is absolutely amazing. He missed maybe 3 out of all the racks.
That game he played left handed through 3 quarters and had 27 points, he finished that game with 47 points. Larry won 3 championships. He also won the MVP 3 years in a row.
Bird's greatest passes video is amazing.
Larry Bird has the absolute best all-around game I've ever seen.
Thank you for keeping the legend
Larry Bird alive …
☮️❤️🙏🌍🌎🌏🇺🇸❤️☮️
Its like a damned movie that he and Magic ended up close friends. Genuinely as men as well as players. He was a technically correct player. the game is differently executed now.
There was more talent in the 80's, than any other era.

The Celtics and the Lakers has like 50% of all the NBA trophys ever...
Kinda crazy
Larry won it all in 81, 84 and 86. Magic won in 80, 82, 85, 87,88. 76ers won in 83 with Dr. J and Moses Malone.

Magic would make normal passes look amazing. Larry Bird would make amazing passes look ordinary.!!
".... in 1986, Hall of Fame Boston Celtics small forward Larry Bird played one of his most iconic contests, the legendary left-handed game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Nobody could rush his game, he was far too calm which I think tripped everyone out.
Try watching Pete maravich next

Actually 6 ft 9 and 1/2
Saw the man play against the Pistons back in the day. To me the Pistons and a little later the Bulls were just as much a thing as the Lakers and Celtics in the mid 80s to early 90s.
actually 6'10" and left handed
Left-handed for eating and writing.
Right-handed for sports.
they won 3, aaannnnddd swept Michael and his Bulls in playoffs 3 times
I think the lakers ànd Celtics have 70 present of all championships
She's cute. Minnesota wasn't even a team in the Bird era.
You need to turn up the video more we can barely hear it

Your girl is very perspective. there are no players like larry anymore.
Doesn't matter what your girl does or doesn't know - she's CUTE.
Watch the bird and magic tapes. Your girlfriend is smart
