No if you downgrade systematically For example if you try to downgrade from 1.16 to b1.7.3 for farlands you need to downgrade at least to 1.12 then 1.8 and finally 1.2 and then b1.7.3 Just make sure Ur about 500-1000 blocks away from farlands or you'll be respawned in your world spawnpoint not X/Z ±12549800 for example
You can see the seed at 0:03 in the top left corner, below the coords. I doubt the seed would have changed thru versions since it was the same world being downgraded.
0:48 What you don't see when going from 1.21 to 1.20 is all items in chests and your inventory get deleted. That happened to me whilst testing stuff last night
You know the immense sense of peace but also loss I feel with the music playing and the minecraft looking older as it goes along (I play with music off nowadays) - it brings such nostalgia. One video that would bring everything back so hard would be where it steps through every version and every change, including examples and technical details. It would bring appreciation for all the little changes and how it’s become from what we knew then and associate with the nostalgia to what we know now.
All of the blocks and biome generation data for the Cherry Grove biome were added as experimental features during the 1.19.4 snapshots. Before the 1.20 snapshots it was only accessible through an experimental data pack that could be enabled during world creation, but the game would have no trouble recognizing those blocks or biome data even without the data pack enabled. The same thing is also true for the trial chambers structure, which should downgrade mostly fine from 1.21 to 1.20.5 because all of the blocks, mobs, and structure data had been added to the game as experimental features by then.
In bedrock, if you downgrade a world... lots of the chunks actually turn into these broken blocks that completely screw up stuff and can break your player if you step on the chunks. Downgrading a world in bedrock is only possible through copying the files on a world and pasting them onto an older version (normally on a different device with an older minecraft version)
I did this around when 1.19.4 released, and this is what happened: 1.19-1.19.4: obviously about the same 1.18-1.18.2: Also the same 1.17/1.17.1: Among Us shaped lava pool... I'm not even joking. 1.16-1.16.5: Similar world generation, so the weird lava pool stayed 1.15-1.15.2: I was now in the middle of the ocean 1.14-1.14.4: Same thing, but without honey and bees (Not like that matters) 1.13-1.13.2: I was on land again 1.3-1.12.2: Boring land that no one cares about... 1.0-1.2: I was on an island... When I updated back to 1.19.4, the among us lava pool stayed, and I found an ice burg that was half grass, half ice. Also, the island from 1.0 was deleted, and I was on the 1.16 world generation...
1.13 introduced the Anvil file format for storing chunks in the player's computer, replacing the old 'Region' format. Lots of interesting facts about this change in the wiki
1.12 to beta 1.4 is possible if you use a external tool to convert anvil to mcregion btw, same with mcregion to alpha (going below beta 1.4 will usually crash unless you mod it to ignore invalid blocks)
sidenote, signs chests and other tileentities will get wiped in 1.10 and again including the inventory in 1.7 as inventories got updated to use names instead of ids in 1.8 (possible to manually convert them back and i've done so before), however you can load 1.7 playerdata all the way down to infdev so
the stripped mesa was kinda beautiful as fuck and interesting tho. now i wanna see some kind of challenge playthrough where the player has to downgrade their world
I remember playing on either version 1.5 or 1.6 and then the new version came out and on that version crafting golden carrots or golden apples became more expensive so I would go back one version just to craft
I wonder if the chunks in the 1.14-1.12 version are those glitched "read-only" chunks? I remember years ago people unintentionally discovering that bug, allowing for exploiting like infinite Wither farming. Also, for that missing mesa lighting, you'd probably have to pillar up to the top of where the clay was to update the lighting.
Very interesting video. I remember while ago I opened my 1.7.9 world in 1.2.5 and everything was broke, there were hills on flat world and my houses were inside caves. I destroyed that world
I took a infdev version that was cool walked around in it for a hour or so. Upgraded the world kept all the infdev terrain gen and it looks neat for my hard core 1.21 world.
Think about how unique Minecraft as a game is. We are always able to go back to old versions and play as we like. Most games when you first update, you can never experience an older version again. I think we take this feature for granted.

Lower the music volume as it rises in volume in editing. That way, as the music swells, you'll still be able to be easily heard.
It really bugs me, especially since i have a thing for sound (more specifically sound design i guess)

Isnt it funny and interesting that Minecraft is one of the only games you intentionally can play older versions of it ? Fascinating if you ask me.
You can do this with tons of pc games depending on the store, Steam is the most popular and downgrading is extremely easy there as well
@@jaskaranbajwa8443 I wouldn't say easy. Some games that rely on online servers need you to do some really crazy stuff to properly downgrade
