Am I the only one that tear up from laugh when he said "Imagine if this is for a chess game"? 🤣 On a side note, yes, this plays on a final boss, but if you watch it out of context it might not look like the most fitting scenery.
This is the official translation of the lyrics: Arise, you who do not fear death Raise your heads bravely and take up your weapons Pay no heed to the corpses of your comrades Warriors, gather to this banner Send out the flare of revolt and liberation To take back our pride from the beast called God Warriors, shout to the earth! Follow me through the wilderness! In the name of rebellion. Let your bodies tremble Let your souls do as they wish. Like the wind that blows through Mother Earth (Fodlan) Like the morning sun that colors the great Ogma Stamp your feet, raise your voice, strong as a lion Our cries will ride the wind for a thousand miles May the cacophony of war reach even the star-spangled desert sky Reach high and praise me, for I am the one who will liberate you all Pierce the sky, mysterious artifacts I am the embodiment of wrath I am the God Shattering Star.
Now that you've heard this, you've GOTTA hear the metal cover done by FamilyJules. The vocals were done by the VA Joe Zieja, who is the voice of Claude from Fire Emblem Three Houses. This song is played during the final mission for the Golden Deer path, where Claude is the leader. Fire Emblem is a turn based strategy game, and chess is a good comparison. You move all your units through a grid space to attack the enemy and claim victory. It's really fun, in my opinion, and Three Houses is extremely tragic with its story.
The song is indeed from the final battle of one of the 4 routes that the game offers (specifically Verdant Wind). Three Houses specifically has a very lose and individual interpretation of "ultimate evil" tho, because you see the story from EVERY perspective in the 4 different routes. That makes it one of the most popular and most controversially discussed titles in the series. If you like this, you should definitely check out Twilight of the Gods from Fire Emblem Echoes, it's also a very epic and popular track from a different title of the series.
Edelgard bad. Did I start a debate? Cus yeah, the arguments surrounding this game shows how good the writing was; you don’t get morality debates unless you do shit right.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 I mean in my honest opinion, the debates surrounding Edelgard aren't about genuine moral and philosophical quandries, its mostly people talking about how shit her character is then her relentless simps trying to defend her. She's easily the worst written major character in the entire game, and the easiest comparison that pops to my mind is Hitler except they made her a cute anime girl.
@@anusaukko6792 I don't remember edlegard starting an ethnic genocide. I must have somehow missed that part of the game. Don't get me wrong, I don't see a way Edlegaurd is anything less than evil given the events of the game, but I feel you may have taken that and overstated it a bit.
Fire Emblem is a turn based strategy franchise, the player controlling various characters with strengths and weaknesses, complimentary and contrasting classes, to beat stages of battle, with a pseudo visual novel story in between to bind it all together, the game this track is from, Fire Emblem 3 Houses, has a branching narrative with 4 different endings, each focused on who you side with, this song is the final fight of one branch
@@ChaolaoFueChiheh, dunno, I find them a bit underwhelming compared to what we got since Sacred Stones. Fire Dragon, Thracia,... They aren't that good when it comes to music. A bit too limited, even with the FEH remixes...
I remember first time I played the game and my grandpa, who couldn't care about games at all, stayed to watch me play the map because he was so enthralled by this song, and when I explained the context to him, he was completely blown away. So yeah, its an epic song. As for spoiler-free context of the song, as mentioned in many of these comments it is for the final map of the Golden Deer route of the game. The song itself is actually sung from the perspective of the final boss in the in-game language of Three Houses. Long story short, it is effectively a rallying cry which ends with the boss proclaiming themselves as the 'God Shattering Star'. The map itself is probably one of the best in the series, both in terms of the music, but also with how it is designed and the placement of the enemies. It's also got the right amount of challenge, even on the hardest difficulty. Of course, the story of this final boss elevates the maps epicness as well, though its may not be for the reasons you think.
how's the gramps? is he into the opera form of music? if he's completely enthralled by this, then by all that is mighty share him all of the epic orchestral music the FRANCHISE has to offer
You should listen to Fire Emblem: Three House's main them "The Edge of Dawn" EDIT: "For all I know it could be a chess game"; It IS at its core a chess game (a stretegy game where you move your characters on a grid board). Fire Emblem: Three Houses was the game that turned me onto strategy RPGs.
That and "If~Hitori Omou" Japanese version is some one the best Fire Emblem songs so far. The English version "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" is ok i guess. "Fire Emblem Heroes - Lonely Puppeteer" was a fun Soundtrack as well.
If you love this you should react to more Fire Emblem songs. I'd recommend "The Edge of Dawn (Seasons of Warfare)" I like the Japanese version, but the English version is just as beautiful!
Yesss! Finally Fire Emblem reaction! Fire emblem is one of my all time favorite video game series so im happy to see this. Fire emblem is a tactical combat rpg like chess where each unit you play as has their own personality/skills. It is also been an ongoing series since 1990.
From the game Fire Emblem : Three Houses (Fire Emblem 16), this is the soundtrack of one of, I think, 4 final battles. At first I found this track just weird and a little displaced despite being an absolut banger of a track, but it grew to one of my favorite final-battle-themes of all time. FamilyJules made an epic metal-cover with the voiceactor of one of the maincharacters as the singer.
This theme instills the feeling of “this is it”. What fire emblem does best is the feeling at the climax of everything , you have your whole party ready and you’re shittin bricks before the final battle. Yet when the theme explodes, you’re filled with the determination to battle on. Their themes ability to convey emotion is my favorite part of fire emblem.
Here's a trio of songs for you to react to from the video game Astral Chain. It's seriously one of the most underrated games out there. These three songs play for the three different phase of a single boss fight. 1.) Jena Anderson 2.) Jena ~ Rebellion and Salvation 3.) Jena ~ Catastrophe
If you want some more stellar video game music, you can't go wrong with xenoblade OST, some i'd recommend in a similar vain to "God Shattering Star" in terms of epicness are "Alpha, the divine Beginning and End", "Zana the Divine" and "God Slaying Sword"
I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS! 😱 It was amazing to hear for the first time while playing and gave me goosebumps, still does! Edit: As many others have said in the comments Twilight of the Gods is another amazing piece!
Fire Emblem is a series of games which each tells their own story. Of course, some are connected together. Anyway, God Shattering Star is apart of the OST of Fire Emblem Three Houses. Which is the game that has four different story paths with each being possible after choosing a selected house/faction of characters and making a particular The different stories are; Azure moon - The Blue Lion House/Faction Verdant Win - The Golden Deer House/Faction/Meme Team Crimson Flower - Black Eagel House/Faction Silver Snow - Siding with the Church during a choice in Crimson Snow. Also some extra stuff: In Three Houses you can recurit characters from other houses to join the one you picked. And there's also a DLC which adds a faction called the Ashen Wolves and a story seperate from the main four.
If you want to check out some of the few lyrical songs that the Fire Emblem series has, I'd recommend 'Lost In Thoughts All Alone' from Fire Emblem Fates and 'Edge of Dawn' from Fire Emblem Three Houses. They're both BEAUTIFUL songs. Also, if you want to hear a lyrical version of the most iconic song from the series, I'd also recommend the Fire Emblem Heroes version of the Fire Emblem theme song
Happy you finally got the chance to react to this track, it's so good. Some other notable tracks from the series are: Together We Ride Id (Purpose) Twilight of the Gods Mila's Divine Protection Apex of the World Edge of Dawn
I remember playing this map for the first time... still goosebumps. For context: This is the music that plays during the final map, in other words the final boss theme of one of the routes of the game. And yeah, it was insane. You're not only fighting the final boss, you also fight several other bosses at the same time AND their minions, all of that on a field full of malice that drains the health of your units.
Craziest part about this song was hearing the version with vocals and going “WOW. That is insane.” Thing is: The two versions aren’t mixed together in-game, and they both play at different times. Jamming out to the entirety of Version 1, then starting up a confrontation with enemy units and hearing the SECOND instrumental version assaulting my headphones with war drums and saying “THERE’S A SECOND VERSION??? AND HOW IS IT THAT THIS ONE GETS EVEN *MORE* AGGRESSIVE WITH THE DRUMS THAN THE FIRST?” was the most fun I’d had with a game in a while.
Fire emblem got a lot of banger music and this is definitely one of them! When this song first came up, it left me awestruck. It came out of left field, i just didnt expect the song to bang so hard! I recommend more fire emblem music. Some of my favorites are: Lost in thoughts all alone End of all Heritors of arcadia Twilight of the gods ID(purpose) The edge of dawn
I love seeing the reaction from someone who has no clue what this is about! I consider this probably one of if not the best video game OSTs ever made. Glad you enjoyed it. Great reaction!
Fun fact about this chapter in Fire Emblem 3 Houses, the boss of the chapter is heavily implied to actively singing the lyrics of the song, and when you Engage him he stops to address the player unit.
So happy to see you reacting to fire emblem tracks! If your planning on doing more I'd love to see you react to Blue Skies and a Battle (Rain) from Three Houses as well- its a short one but honestly one of my favorite tracks in a game ever! ♥
Now you've heard this, look up Family Joules heavy metal version where he converts this song while shredding guitars and the vocals are done by one of the voice actors.
My favorite ost from this particular game is called "paths that will never cross" a lot of songs in this game have a rain and thunder version. The rain version of this ost I requested is the good one.
This boss basically calls himself "The God Shattering Star". You fight the embodiment of an ancient evil, long thought to have been dead. As you find out, his kind is not as dead as the world thought. Also, funnily enough, the fight theme you hear on the Chapter bedore this one, is also quite ground breaking for the game in its own right.
4:21 Fire Emblem fans have always made the joke that you start the game killing a bandit and end the game killing a God. In this game, you start off by killing a bandit and, if you chose to teach the misfits of the Golden Deer, you end the game by killing *the* bandit that butchered a Goddess and fashioned a sword from her spine a millennia ago.
fire emblem 3 houses is my favorite switch game and I think this will never change. I still get emotional hearing the ost. It won the players choice award at the game awards. which is game of the year but without the jury votes, only player votes
This is one of my favorite video game songs ever. Right up there with “I Believe” from Persona 5 Royal, “Twilight of the Gods” from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, “Id (Purpose)” from Fire Emblem Awakening, “On the Road” and “Break the Rules” from Payday 2, “BFG Division” from DOOM (2016), and “Bury the Light” from Devil May Cry 5.
“So that’s [SPOILER]… you’re a crusty old bastard, you know that?” - actual dialogue during the middle of the fight this plays over Can’t wait for him to learn about the dubstep track LMAO
Day 23 of requesting a reaction to the following openings: Chivalry of a Failed Knight op Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress op Darling in the Franxx op Kiznaiver op You could make a multiple op reaction for this. Thank you!
Day 93 of recommending the Beyblade openings. There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
Fire Emblem as a franchise began as Nintendo's answer to Final Fantasy, and in many ways it still is, though it is as much Nintendo's answer to Persona. With a touch of games like Baldur's Gate as it is a turn based isometric rpg with a lot of inspiration from D&D. It is an SRPG, with deep class customization, with relationship building between the many, many characters, with optional permadeath of characters, and multiple endings based on relationship building and/or routes.
So something interesting to note about how F.E Three Houses does its OST, every song effectively has 2 versions. Rain and Thunder. Rain is played while overlooking the battlefield and thunder kicks in during the actual fights as they play out. This version you've reacted to does it's best to combine the two for the "full" thing, since while playing they swap consistently. You can tell its thunder during those high impacting notes I guess I would call them? I don't know how to explain it as I am not musically educated but you can probably tell what I mean. Rain is the standard song itself, and thunder introduces those massive percussive bits with the cymbals and is loud and bombastic. As others have pointed out, the song is the theme of one of the games Final Bosses, and fun thing, iirc the actual songs lyrics are supposed to be the boss himself singing. I could be wrong about that but I dont believe so.
Music from Fire Emblem can be so beautifully intense! Not just the scores themselves, but the titles can be so imposing. The name "God Shattering Star" alone is powerful, and the music lives up to the name. Other Fire Emblem songs with impressive titles (and sound nice too, in my opinion) are "Apex of the World", "Twilight of the Gods", and "End of All".
If you want to react to more fire emblem songs i can recommend "Twilight of the gods", "Funeral of flowers", "Scions dance in purgatory" and "Lord of a dead empire"
Yes, finally. This game is awesome. Thanks for the reaction Luke. The VA for a character in the game actually covered this song. The other ost from this game is also good. "Edge of Dawn" Spoilers . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You don't fight a god.... you fight the man who slained a god.
To be fair, assuming you kill a god-like entity at the end of a j(T)RPG isn't a far-fetched hypothesis, and is mostly correct for most Fire Emblems as well.
I'm so glad that more different people are reacting to this amazing ost. Expecting the unexpected is what I always enjoy seeing from reactions. For the next fire emblem ost, you should react to "a funeral of flowers" it's another one of my favorite osts in the game
Thank you for finally reacting to this!! Fire emblem is a strategy turn based game - so really not far off saying chess. There’s quite a few editions to the story, majority are standalone titles (so you don’t need to know anything before playing each game / no order to play a lot of these in). There are different difficult settings and permadeath mode - if your character dies, they stay dead. 🥲 I’m happy you enjoyed this!
If you liked this one, there’s a ~sort of~ sequel to this song being “Melody of Clarity” (parts 1 & 2) from the spinoff game Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. It’s got more of a rock opera vibe to it
"A chess game" is a good way to describe Fire emblem. You got your knights, your bishops, often the main character is a noble who must not fall under any circumstance (king piece) so it really is just more advanced chess...Oh, and dragons! Of course it's epic, it's a tale of dragons and mens. As for if the game is huge, yes and no. It is in a way but T-RPGs like these are pretty niche. Gotta have the patience to sit throught the dialogue, political intrigues of these kingdoms at war, and slow gameplay. Totally recommand if you're patient enough to read an entire novel to go along with your gameplay tho. It's also funny that you questionned if the character on the picture is really an angel or not, because that trope happens quite a few time in the series. Another example would the one who who sings "Life returns" during the Tellius saga. Can't blame you if you mistake this character for an angel after listening to this out of context: th-cam.com/video/6uPlcbUrD9s/w-d-xo.html (lyrics in the video) Random recommandation time: Another "chess game" song but more in the wtf genre. "Brave new world" from namcoXcapcom, a very old yet huge crossover game. Because when you have all these characters from fighting games, platformers and other action games, of course the way to go is a T-RPG, right?... xD th-cam.com/video/K9-MfQBZUvU/w-d-xo.html
A piece of video game music that always gives me goosebumps and instantly transports me to the epicness of the moment from the game is “Battle for Haven” from Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Another game OST, another day of asking Luke to check out the Destiny/Destiny 2 OST Some of my top picks: - The Man They Called Cayde - Journey (this is a must) - Queen’s Oracle - The First Disciple - Oneirophobia - Deep Stone Lullaby - Sepiks Redux - Regicide
Fire emblem ost’s always goes stupid hard. Check out “Fodlan Winds (Rain)” I’m sure you’ll enjoy it :) Another great one is “Twilight of the Gods”. Definitely check it out.
Well since you have now tasted the power of Fire Emblem music.... Could I interest you in "Twilight of the Gods" from Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia? i think you might find it quite interesting indeed
About time! This one’s freaking incredible. FINAL BOSS SPOILER I still can’t get over how, as a comment from the original video said, you’re just straight up killing the guy who killed god.
The coolest part about this specific Fire Emblem game is that all 3 alternative routes have their own Boss Battle themes like this one. Each one takes the base melody of the game and uses it subtly in a broad and epic/emotional way. It ties the themes of the game together in one last epic clash, both musically but also contextually for what the fights stand for. The game's music is genius compositioning all aroun.
Fire Emblem is a series that the first 5 or so games (NES, SNES and first GBA games) were never released outside of Japan. From the second GBA game onwards, we have had Fire Emblem games released with a few exceptions during the DS era where the series almost died in the West due to lack of interest. But then Fire Emblem Awakening happened on the 3DS and that revived the series in the Western regions.
Fire Emblem's a series that I wholeheartedly love in both playing and discussing the games It's wild how in its 30 year history, the series went from being a niche Japan-only title, to being nearly cancelled a decade ago, to now being one of Nintendo's big modern franchises, even taking up its own full-scale Nintendo Direct at one point Despite my hangups with this one title, I can't bring myself to hate it because for all it does different, it still represents the grandiose experience that these worlds can offer Hope ya do check this game out and enjoy it someday
Maybe try listening to Edge of Dawn from the same game this came from (Fire Emblen Three Houses) As for background of Fire Emblem, it is a franchise that started in the 80's and is very popular Japan, but hasnt been popular in the west till recently. The gameplay, funny enough, its that of like an anime chess, with quite a bit of roleplaying on the side. Some games also have a bit of Simulator into it (Three Houses, for example, takes a long portion of the game in an officers academy) It's a fun yet niche game. It has very good stories, though they dont usually relate to each other than there always being something called the Fire Emblem, which takes great importance in the story.
I mentioned it before but another track you really need to hear is Xenoblade Chronicles 3 "Moebius Battle Phase 2 Action Full Version" it sounds like a moutfull but if you want epic this is one of the most epic OSTs in recent years by far! Give it a go Luke 😉👍
Fire Emblem is my second favourite saga after Pokémon, are Tactical Turn based Role Play Videogames. An easy way of try one right now is Fire Emblem Heroes in smartphones or Fire Emblem Engage and Fire Emblem Three Houses (I recommend this one and is the one of the OST of the video) in the Nintendo Switch. My favourites OST of Fire Emblem Three Houses are "Fire Emblem Three Houses Main Theme", "The Edge of Dawn", "The Spirit Dais", "A Guide for the Future" and the best "Life at Garreg Mach Monastery". The intro of the game and the first cinematic of the game are 10/10.
TWILIGHT OF THE GODS and THE EDGE OF DAWN!!! those are required listening for fire emblem imo. The whole series has bangers from the classics to the modern so I’m happy to see you reacting to this :’)
This was unexpected, Fire Emblem has some amazing songs, some of my personal favorites are Between Heaven and Earth which is from 3 houses same as this song and Twiligh of the Gods from Echoes hope you hear them because they will blow away your mind
Great reaction. Just for the future though, most Fire Emblem tracks usually have 2 versions. Fire Emblem has the in battle theme (it would be called “God Shattering Star Thunder”) and then the planning phase version (God Shattering Star Rain). Also it is a chess style type game 😂😭
Wow, I've never expect you'd react to a fire emblem ost! Speaking of fire emblem there's a lot of great OST from this franchise like apex of the world from FE ~Three Houses~, twilight of the gods from FE Echoes, Id~Purpose from FE Awakening and lastly lost in thoughts all alone from FE Fates. You should definitely check those out.
Would love to see this game streamed! Just a heads up, you only get to hear this song if you play the Verdant Wind route, which requires that you select to join Claude’s house, Golden Deer, near the beginning of the game.
Amazing to think this is a semi-recent game in a 25+ year old game series. ;P Also if you ever want to see an amazing late 90s/early 2000s game OST? The PS1 game Chrono Cross' is considered one of the best of that era. It's opening MV Time's Scar is epic and amazing (and full orchestral? ;P) and the track The Girl that Stole the Stars/Star-Stealing girl is emotional and beautiful.
JSYK, Fire Emblem is actually the _original_ game in it's turn-based strategy RPG genre! This franchise hasn't been very well known for a long time (especially in the west), but it dates all the way back to the NES. (Also, _most_ Fire Emblem OSTs are orchestral! For as long as game systems have been able to handle things more intensive than midis anywho :D To parrot a few other people here: I recommend you listen to Twilight of the Gods, Don't Speak Her Name, and Lord of a Death Empire, and FE: Echoes' & FE: Awakening's renditions of the Main Fire Emblem theme!)
You know how some games have a god as the final boss? This game takes it a step further and this song plays when you fight the guys that killed the previous god.
I should say that this specific song brought me into Fire emblem games (yes, i played the game just bc of the music lol), this is probably my favorite boss theme ever.
I recommend the rest of the music for fire emblem, they also have songs with voice kinda like a anime opening “lost in thoughts all alone” “The edge of dawn” “heritors of arcadia”
Have you said you were recommended Asura's Wrath OST by TH-cam? My man, just go for it. Like, really. The whole OST is a banger. My personal recommendation for it is the main theme, "In Your Belief" If you've never played Asura's Wrath, wel... It'll be hard, it is an X360 exclusive that never got ported over to later systems nor PC.
Honestly now that you've heard this, you really need to hear the live version of Serpent Eating the Horizon/Ground from the Bravely default ost. The Group/Symphopny/Band did it live and it's honestly one of the most mind blowing tracks I've ever heard :) would LOVE to see your reaction to it G.O.T!❤
I know this is a year+ old but just for anyone who doesnt know, there are officially translated lyrics and they make the theme even more emotionally loaded in epicnes and power
Fire Emblem really has amazing music, I would recommend maybe two of the most popular ones from recent years, like Edge of Down (Seasons of Warfare) and Lost in Thoughts All Alone. "It could be a chess game".... maybe, not really, but kinda I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem games, to me they're very entertaining but maybe they're not for everyone 😅
God Shattering Star its my favorite final boss theme from Fire emblem three houses, it is more like an epic theme unlike Apex od the world, despite being the only human final boss. Your character is so similar to them, the same crest and sword, despite being similar, the music it shows the true gap between a enemy of the past and someone who was a mercenary some years ago I love it
Now you have to react to a lot more fire emblem stuff. Id (Purpose), the fire emblem theme, Twilight of the Gods, Edge of Dawn (as others have said), and Heritors of Arcadia are definitely ones you should check out.
Few games have managed to portray so well the weight and feeling that is to lose a companion in the middle of a battle in a war, but the Fire Emblem franchise manages to achieve and pass this sense on in a masterful way to the players. For these and other reasons, Fire Emblem is my favorite franchise that is on Nintendo consoles (for me it is even above Legend of Zelda).
OOOO if you're reacting to Fire Emblem music, can I recommend The Edge of Dawn (Seasons of Warfare) (same game), Don't speak her name! (F.E Awakening) and I.d (Purpose) also from Awakening? Fire emblems soundtracks are insanely good.
When I first got to this map I didn't even notice how epic the music was because I was busy shitting myself the entire time. This map was brutal. Absolutely epic finale to the GD route.
Fire Emblem is an amazing turn based tactics series of games. This theme is from Three Houses and is as you can guess a Boss battle. Newer Fire Emblem music often have multiple versions, usually one version for the overhead battlemap where you move your units, and then it blends into a more bombastic and epic version when it zooms in to show the units fighting. Also some have differences depending on if it's your turn or the enemy's. Another amazing piece of music from the series is Don't Speak Her Name from FE Awakening. As a long time fan of the series I also really like the series' main theme. Sadly they've tried "improving it" in the later titles. My favourite is probably still one of the first versions I heard from FE Sacred Stones.
If you liked this try "Daughter of a Dark God," "They Who Govern Reason," and ESPECIALLY "Decisive Battle II" from Octopath Traveler 1. I promise it's so worth it. Also "ID Purpose" for Fire Emblem: Awakening is beautiful and when you know the history behind it? Insane.
Fire Emblem is a turn based strategy game where you get to move every piece you own on the board before the end of your turn BUT in return if one of your actually really well characterised pieces dies in battle they stay dead forever. So basically, it's anime styled super dramatic war-drama chess~ XDDD Fire Emblem is a Nintendo IP that's been around for ages but it only left Japan in the last 15 years or so due to some of it's characters (Roy and Marth) due to western audiences becoming really curious as to who the hell these characters were and what they were doing in Super Smash Brothers. Still took a while to really catch on in the west since story turn based stuff is usually like that (sighs sadly as one of those few early FE fans) but the game this track is from, Fire Emblem Three Houses was a MASSIVE hit and pushed the series into the public eye, partly because it was on the Switch right around when covid hit and partly because the game was considered an incredible amount of content for it's price (since an average playthrough is like 70+ hours and there are 4 major factions in the game you choose from fairly early on and well, you kinda need to play all of them if you want the full story). As for this track specifically: God Shattering Star specifically is used as the final battle music for one specific route/faction (my favorite route actually

Man on the Internet has a cover. That might help you understand the story and even gives lyrics to this song.
YS series OSTs are all bangers
Am I the only one that tear up from laugh when he said "Imagine if this is for a chess game"? 🤣
On a side note, yes, this plays on a final boss, but if you watch it out of context it might not look like the most fitting scenery.
RPG Chess Waifu sim == Fire Emblem TBH
I was skipping through the video, when does he say it?
@@EiSaeko 8:18
Little does he know he's listening to the OST of a chess game 😂
“What if chess… made you horny?“
This is the official translation of the lyrics:
Arise, you who do not fear death
Raise your heads bravely and take up your weapons
Pay no heed to the corpses of your comrades
Warriors, gather to this banner
Send out the flare of revolt and liberation
To take back our pride
from the beast called God
Warriors, shout to the earth!
Follow me through the wilderness!
In the name of rebellion.
Let your bodies tremble
Let your souls do as they wish.
Like the wind that blows through Mother Earth (Fodlan)
Like the morning sun that colors the great Ogma
Stamp your feet, raise your voice, strong as a lion
Our cries will ride the wind for a thousand miles
May the cacophony of war reach even the star-spangled desert sky
Reach high and praise me, for I am the one who will liberate you all
Pierce the sky, mysterious artifacts
I am the embodiment of wrath
I am the God Shattering Star.
Joe Zieja is great. I'm glad he loved his role so much
GaMetal is another great version especially since Jonny does both versions of the song.
They recently made an English cover of it.
I just saw that today! It's amazing! I didn't know Joe could do that deep!
👀🤯
Now you have to listen to more Fire Emblem music
Agreed, especially old ones on the gba, snes consoles and etc.
Or FEH's too.
@@ChaolaoFueChiheh, dunno, I find them a bit underwhelming compared to what we got since Sacred Stones.
Fire Dragon, Thracia,... They aren't that good when it comes to music. A bit too limited, even with the FEH remixes...
@@Itsukazutrap I'll have to disaggre. Genealogy and Gaiden/Echoes both have a fantastic Soundtrack.
Absolutely!
Hearing this for the first time when playing is both amazing and absolutely terrifying
👀
I want to go back in time just to live again that experiencie.
I'm so glad Claude's route was my first one.
You should listen to Fire Emblem: Three House's main them "The Edge of Dawn"
EDIT: "For all I know it could be a chess game"; It IS at its core a chess game (a stretegy game where you move your characters on a grid board). Fire Emblem: Three Houses was the game that turned me onto strategy RPGs.
Happy to 💯
That and "If~Hitori Omou" Japanese version is some one the best Fire Emblem songs so far.
YES! The FamilyJules version is even better than this original one.
@@solitare4602TBF this one he’s listening to isn’t the original, it’s a remix
Thank you for the info! Definitely got to check out more 💯
Funeral of Flowers (both rain & thunder versions) is goddamn BEAUTIFUL as well i highkey recommend them as a duo
Funeral of Flowers has always been my favorite 3THs battle theme.
1:51 I can't believe he listened to the first chords and guessed EXACTLY what has just happened

I will add "Moebius Battle"
@@foultarnished3134 Thats an excellent one to add
Xenoblades soundtracks are masterpieces
Would be happy to check them out 💯
I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS! 😱
It was amazing to hear for the first time while playing and gave me goosebumps, still does!
Edit: As many others have said in the comments Twilight of the Gods is another amazing piece!
Happy to check that one out as well 💯
Fire Emblem is a series of games which each tells their own story. Of course, some are connected together. Anyway, God Shattering Star is apart of the OST of Fire Emblem Three Houses. Which is the game that has four different story paths with each being possible after choosing a selected house/faction of characters and making a particular
The different stories are;
Azure moon - The Blue Lion House/Faction
Verdant Win - The Golden Deer House/Faction/Meme Team
Crimson Flower - Black Eagel House/Faction
Silver Snow - Siding with the Church during a choice in Crimson Snow.
Also some extra stuff:
In Three Houses you can recurit characters from other houses to join the one you picked.
Some other notable tracks from the series are:
Together We Ride
Id (Purpose)
Twilight of the Gods
Mila's Divine Protection
Apex of the World
Edge of Dawn
You should check out others like don't speak her name or lost in thoughts all alone. They are from Fire emblem awakening and fates respectively
Yes, I highly recommend those two as well!
And for mi opinion i add Heritors of arcadia to, i think is a good one
Don't speak her name for sure
💯💯
I remember playing this map for the first time... still goosebumps. For context: This is the music that plays during the final map, in other words the final boss theme of one of the routes of the game. And yeah, it was insane. You're not only fighting the final boss, you also fight several other bosses at the same time AND their minions, all of that on a field full of malice that drains the health of your units.
Great video as always! I would also like to recommend another fire emblem OST titled "Edge of Dawn" 🔥
❤️💯
I recommend listening to 'Serpent Eating the Ground' from the game Bravely Default.
Fire emblem got a lot of banger music and this is definitely one of them! When this song first came up, it left me awestruck. It came out of left field, i just didnt expect the song to bang so hard!
I recommend more fire emblem music. Some of my favorites are:
Lost in thoughts all alone
End of all
Heritors of arcadia
Twilight of the gods
ID(purpose)
The edge of dawn
so this combines both the rain and thunder versions of the song. in game it would switch to the the thunder version when you were engaged in combat.
Claude: Welp, gang. We just ended racism and won the war, now all that’s left is to check out these ruins. What could go wrong
Boss music:
Now you've heard this, look up Family Joules heavy metal version where he converts this song while shredding guitars and the vocals are done by one of the voice actors.
My favorite ost from this particular game is called "paths that will never cross" a lot of songs in this game have a rain and thunder version. The rain version of this ost I requested is the good one.
Comparing Fire Emblem to chess is honestly not that bad a description.
Only difference is that you sometimes cry when you loose your "pieces"
👀
This boss basically calls himself "The God Shattering Star".
You fight the embodiment of an ancient evil, long thought to have been dead.
As you find out, his kind is not as dead as the world thought.
Also, funnily enough, the fight theme you hear on the Chapter bedore this one, is also quite ground breaking for the game in its own right.
mole people dubstep
4:21 Fire Emblem fans have always made the joke that you start the game killing a bandit and end the game killing a God. In this game, you start off by killing a bandit and, if you chose to teach the misfits of the Golden Deer, you end the game by killing *the* bandit that butchered a Goddess and fashioned a sword from her spine a millennia ago.
fire emblem 3 houses is my favorite switch game and I think this will never change. I still get emotional hearing the ost. It won the players choice award at the game awards. which is game of the year but without the jury votes, only player votes
Best part about this track is it's for a boss that is essentially the generic tutorial Bandit Boss upgraded to legit Final Boss status
8:04 this video has the game’s box art for the thumbnail
This is one of my favorite video game songs ever. Right up there with “I Believe” from Persona 5 Royal, “Twilight of the Gods” from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, “Id (Purpose)” from Fire Emblem Awakening, “On the Road” and “Break the Rules” from Payday 2, “BFG Division” from DOOM (2016), and “Bury the Light” from Devil May Cry 5.
“So that’s [SPOILER]… you’re a crusty old bastard, you know that?” - actual dialogue during the middle of the fight this plays over
Can’t wait for him to learn about the dubstep track LMAO

Chivalry of a Failed Knight op
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress op
Darling in the Franxx op
Kiznaiver op
You could make a multiple op reaction for this.
"Edge of Dawn"

Apex of the World is also great. All Fire Emblem: Three houses, final battle themes are incredible. If you have time you should listen to them.
Can't blame you if you mistake this character for an angel after listening to this out of context:
th-cam.com/video/6uPlcbUrD9s/w-d-xo.html (lyrics in the video)
Random recommandation time:
Another "chess game" song but more in the wtf genre. "Brave new world" from namcoXcapcom, a very old yet huge crossover game.
Because when you have all these characters from fighting games, platformers and other action games, of course the way to go is a T-RPG, right?... xD

If you like this, please listen to OCTOPATH 1 and 2's:
"Daughter of The Dark God"
"Those Who Deny The Dawn"
They are, well...'God-Shattering' too!
Those are incredible pieces of music, octopath and 3 houses have some of the best music in any game
@@thatonearanara 100%!
This might be a bit to niche for a game ost request but nonetheless I recommend The Azure Arbitrator ost from AO NO KISEKI.
I have been waiting for this for SO LONG
A piece of video game music that always gives me goosebumps and instantly transports me to the epicness of the moment from the game is “Battle for Haven” from Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Another game OST, another day of asking Luke to check out the Destiny/Destiny 2 OST
Some of my top picks:
- The Man They Called Cayde
- Journey (this is a must)
- Queen’s Oracle
- The First Disciple
- Oneirophobia
- Deep Stone Lullaby
- Sepiks Redux
- Regicide
For another amazing Fire Emblem song to react to, I'd suggest Twilight of the Gods, the final boss theme of Fire Emblem Echoes.

Fire Emblem's a series that I wholeheartedly love in both playing and discussing the games
It's wild how in its 30 year history, the series went from being a niche Japan-only title, to being nearly cancelled a decade ago, to now being one of Nintendo's big modern franchises, even taking up its own full-scale Nintendo Direct at one point
Despite my hangups with this one title, I can't bring myself to hate it because for all it does different, it still represents the grandiose experience that these worlds can offer
Hope ya do check this game out and enjoy it someday
Maybe try listening to Edge of Dawn from the same game this came from (Fire Emblen Three Houses)
As for background of Fire Emblem, it is a franchise that started in the 80's and is very popular Japan, but hasnt been popular in the west till recently.
The gameplay, funny enough, its that of like an anime chess, with quite a bit of roleplaying on the side. Some games also have a bit of Simulator into it (Three Houses, for example, takes a long portion of the game in an officers academy)
It's a fun yet niche game. It has very good stories, though they dont usually relate to each other than there always being something called the Fire Emblem, which takes great importance in the story.
Bravely Default OST Serpent Eating the Ground
I mentioned it before but another track you really need to hear is Xenoblade Chronicles 3 "Moebius Battle Phase 2 Action Full Version" it sounds like a moutfull but if you want epic this is one of the most epic OSTs in recent years by far! Give it a go Luke 😉👍
«Twilight of the gods» has always been my favorite, but this is a close second!
Would love to see you react to that OST!
HELL YEAH!
I will say that this specific video you reacted to is the uploaders' combined version of the two different versions in the game.
Fire Emblem OSTs are goated, I would definitely recommend checking out some more! Would love to see you play Three Houses too lol
Amazing to think this is a semi-recent game in a 25+ year old game series. ;P
Also if you ever want to see an amazing late 90s/early 2000s game OST? The PS1 game Chrono Cross' is considered one of the best of that era. It's opening MV Time's Scar is epic and amazing (and full orchestral? ;P) and the track The Girl that Stole the Stars/Star-Stealing girl is emotional and beautiful.
JSYK, Fire Emblem is actually the _original_ game in it's turn-based strategy RPG genre! This franchise hasn't been very well known for a long time (especially in the west), but it dates all the way back to the NES.
(Also, _most_ Fire Emblem OSTs are orchestral! For as long as game systems have been able to handle things more intensive than midis anywho :D
To parrot a few other people here: I recommend you listen to Twilight of the Gods, Don't Speak Her Name, and Lord of a Death Empire, and FE: Echoes' & FE: Awakening's renditions of the Main Fire Emblem theme!)
My personal recommendation for it is the main theme, "In Your Belief"
If you've never played Asura's Wrath, wel... It'll be hard, it is an X360 exclusive that never got ported over to later systems nor PC.
Amazing ost. Hope you listen to more Fire Emblem. The Edge of Dawn is also great.
"It could be a chess game".... maybe, not really, but kinda
I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem games, to me they're very entertaining but maybe they're not for everyone
😅
God Shattering Star its my favorite final boss theme from Fire emblem three houses, it is more like an epic theme unlike Apex od the world, despite being the only human final boss. Your character is so similar to them, the same crest and sword, despite being similar, the music it shows the true gap between a enemy of the past and someone who was a mercenary some years ago
I love it
Now you have to react to a lot more fire emblem stuff.
I highly recommend checking out Daughter of the Dark God from the first Octopath Traveler game. So dang good!
So basically, it's anime styled super dramatic war-drama chess~ XDDD
Fire Emblem is a Nintendo IP that's been around for ages but it only left Japan in the last 15 years or so due to some of it's characters (Roy and Marth) due to western audiences becoming really curious as to who the hell these characters were and what they were doing in Super Smash Brothers.
