South Africa with road infrastructure is like Europe, America, fly over 6 car lanes, beautiful scenery, love from Uganda, I would love to visit one day insha'allah
You guys have a beautiful countryside and the inter-city highway system is what my country Kenya should aspire for. The multi-lane highways will cut down our highway crashes that claim passengers' lives weekly. The rest stops is another feature that just puts South Africa at an advanced stage compared to Kenya. Hopefully those are included when they finally do the Nairobi-Mombasa expressway.
Always was... in the 80's when I returned to Portugal from South Africa it was ahead of many European states. Nowadays not quite, it requires maintenance and good maintenance requires good governance.
Sir it's always been look at the the videos in the 1900s. Back in the years SA was the only Afriacn country to have the Best Roads in World in the top 10s
I was in SA the whole of December until Jan 8th. We drove from Johannesburg to Pietermaritzburg, spent most of our time in PMB. We also visited Durban, the Midlands & Clarens in the Free State. I’ll be back in SA some time in June again. Love South Africa!!
A friend from Durban just moved his family here to CO, USA. I sent him this video on his birthday to give him just a little bit of home. Thanks for the terrific footage.

I'll be driving from middelburg mpumalanga to Durban in a few days , it will be my first Ling trip , kind of scared not gana lie but this video helped alot thanx
I travelled to sandton, Joburg last August, and damn the highway from OR tambo to sandton felt like i was on cloud 9......South African roads are incomparable to potholed narrow roads of Uganda.
Top job this video… we are Kiwis looking to drive from Joburg across to Durban, stay a night then drive down the coast road to Cape Town over 4 days. Is this a trip you can recommend, is there any hints, tricks or tips to this expedition… Oh… by the way… I couldn’t care less about any spelling mistakes as you’ve done a great job… appreciated 💎🙂😎
Hi. You’ll definitely enjoy that trip, N2 from Durban to Cape Town has some spectacular sceneries. You should make a stop in George & Knysna, try The Friday Market At Knysna. (They only open Fridays though) Not much tips really but a car side window sun shade is a definite bring along item. As for the spelling, I’ve learnt to proofread before posting😀🤦🏾♂️…Thanks for watching.
I wanted to ask you a question is the road from Johannesburg to Durban really safe, that is to say there are no problems and hiw much price payed road just in case.thanks in advance
I was driving polo vivo sedan 1.6, I spent R286,50 on toll gates and R1800, but the money you spend on fuel will depend on how many times you fill up along the way. If I spend R1800-2000 on fuel, I get to Johannesburg still on full tank. Budget (R+/- 2500)
hi, we are planning to do a road trip and will be driving from cape town and returning the car in joburg, Would like to get your thoughts if we should get these window curtains to prevent carjacking or will it make no difference?
It’s actually a good idea have window curtains for a long distance drive. Besides safety they protect the occupants and items in the car against the sun. Getting one is not a bad idea. I Hope this helps you, safe travels and all the best.
@@travelthroughthelens369 Thanks for your reply! Is it common for cars on the road to have these curtains, not too sure if it will be too eye-catching?
Hi, I don’t think I can have a direct answer to your question. The answer will be relative to your lifestyle, what’s expensive to one person might not be to the other. SA offers different levels of lifestyle depending on the depth of you pocket.
South Africa is cheaper especially if you come from Europe or America cause the dollar, euros and pounds carry weight, so what you think its expensive there might be cheaper here.
Eating out, food, drinks and such are much cheaper than many places in Europe, America and especially places like the UK. 🙈 Depends what country you’re coming from and what you like to do, but South Africa on a “first-world” budget is quite a cheap country. But things like electronics, cars, petrol and so on are comparable to other western countries, as such, they’re actually quite expensive items for South Africans.
As a long-time expat who has not been back, these videos are great, thanks. Confusing, as one hears so much negative, yet these videos look great. Could you please spell check before you publish, it is a bit frustrating to see the errors.
Negative narratives are somehow dominant, not to say all is perfect, but there’s some positives. Thanks for watching for the heads up regarding the spelling.

Too many trucks on South African roads😢😮
Results of failed railway service
next time u must blur car registrations
That’s impractical though. There are many cars on the road from different angles.
