    I listened to this before arriving in Dubai and now listening to it a month after arriving is quite surreal. I should have taken better notes because my settling here has been exactly as described. Anyone coming over should listen to this attentively

      @@fadiafarid you’re most welcome. I was actually wondering if you’re aware of short term room rentals on Dubizzle and whether or not it’s a trustworthy platform. Im looking to come on tourist visa and search for employment.

      @@outdoorcat5107 I find that most platforms have some sort scammer-esque listings, including airbnb. Main thing is, you have to 1. Go view the unit in person 2. Ask for their registered broker card 3. Get them to give you the house key on the day that you sign the contract and make payment. Don’t fall for “you make payment first, and I’ll give you key later”. It’s too risky

    The agent fee is too high, speaking from experience as a Dubai resident. It should be 2% only. Also it should be one-off not yearly.

    • @fadiafarid
      @fadiafarid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wahhhh good to know!😮 May I know which area is that? If you don't mind sharing

    • @williamchin7388
      @williamchin7388 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fadiafarid it's a standard practice, not specific to any area. I suggest you don't renew next year and move to another unit that has better terms.

    • @fadiafarid
      @fadiafarid  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@williamchin7388 2% is a steal! I’m just wondering whether the % is based on the yearly rental. Let’s say the area is more central, then rent is probably higher. You’re right about the agent fee, ours is one-off too! 😊

    How long does it take to get emirates id and check . If I book a short monthly studio before coming to Dubai and pay by back is there any chance of getting scammed

      I made a separate video about the process of getting my emirates id th-cam.com/video/1dqMOaFDzHY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5LjZdJImVFvQwi8Y
      And yes, there’s a high chance of you getting scammed. Never wire any payments in advance.

      I really can't say because it depends on the location. Ours is 28k per year for a 350-400 sq ft studio apartment in the Jebel Ali industrial area. It is best that you refer to the latest price trends on the Bayut, Dubizzle etc websites based on your preferred location.

      It is already charged under DEWA (dubai electricity & water authority) bill. There will be a column specifically for housing and sewerage charges in there. So it’s like a 4-in-1 bill, quite convenient 😊
