      You will find no 2.4GHz systems with a screw-down lav connector, that I've seen. You have to move to a UHF system to find that. It is to make them lighter and less thick. You can use a 3.5mm lavalier with a screw-down connector with it though. I use the Saramonic DK3A with mine all the time and it does not come unconnected.

      When using TRRS into a mobile device, you cannot hear back in real-time. This is a limitation of the mobile device and TRRS. If you are using the Blink 500 Pro, you can monitor from the headphone output on the receiver. If you are using the original Blink 500, you could add the Saramonic SR-EA2D adapter, which has a microphone input and a headphone output it will allow you to hear playback via wired headphones. I real-time monitoring is still app dependent, so not all apps will allow you to monitor in real-time. Some higher quality video apps like Filmic Pro will and I would suggest that as a great option.

      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That would be cool as heck, and I agree totally.
      But the battery life would be very short at this size. It could be much larger, but that defeats a lot of what makes the Blink 500 series so cool, they are super light and the whole system can fit in your hand.

    @alantuttphotography 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    A lot of good choices went into this design. If possible, it would be nice to be able to adjust transmitter mic sensitivity from the receiver. That way, if the talent starts talking louder or quieter than they did during sound check, we can adjust with their performance.

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a interesting feature, but even the highest-end wireless systems do not have that. Because the input sensitivity is usually set before filming. You can of course mix the levels and post because of the split signal to your camera, which will certainly help you if someone is too loud or too low. The best practice is always to get the best sound before you start filming and then if there's an issue, tackle that in the post mix.

    • @alantuttphotography
      @alantuttphotography 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SaramonicUSA Actually, some systems do have this ability. Deity Connect is one of them. Regardless, I'm seriously considering this new system due to the small size, battery life, low cost, and set of features.

    • @alantuttphotography
      @alantuttphotography 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SaramonicUSA Yes, I think I've settled on Saramonic as the go-to choice for portable wireless audio. The new Blink 500 Pro system looks to be a great choice for close-distance shooting (because of the 2.4Ghz connection), and the UWMIC9 system when range and obstructions need to be addressed. Of course, it would be nice if Saramonic came out with something like Comica's newer BoomX-U UHF system. If they hadn't abused so many reviewers, I might have purchased one of those, but they ruined their chances with me.

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The audio is found on the video of your camera, if you recorded into the camera, same is true with a smartphone if recorded into a camera app or audio recording app.
      If your camera lacks a mic input then you will need an external recorder of some kind to record the output of the Blink 500 Pro's receiver.

    I just bought this set last week and I was so excited! But the charging case won't hold a charge. It is empty as soon as I unplug it from the wall, even after a full charge.
    One of the transmitters says the battery is full when in the case but the moment it's out of the case it says the battery is empty and won't turn on.
    And, worst of all, when I try to record video the audio signal comes in and out, sounding like someone is turning a mute button on and off. Very disappointing for $250 ☹️

      @SaramonicUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Richard, I'm sorry you are having issues with your new Blink Pro System. There are small pieces of plastic over the contacts on the bottom of the transmitters and receiver when you first get it from the factory that allow for charging. Can you please make sure these are removed? This could fix charging issues. Drop outs can be caused by many things (including low batteries). If the plastic has been removed and you are still having issues, please send us an email at [info@macgroupus.com](info@macgroupus.com) and we would be glad to troubleshoot with you further.

      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What kind of headphones are you using? If you are using certain over the ear headphones that require a lot of power because of their impedance, sometimes that can cause a problem. But I use the Sony MDR7506 and Sennheiser HD25-1 II, and those require a decent amount of juice to power them and they work fine. The other problem might be you're using a consumer headphones that has a TRRS connection, sometimes these headphones are not wired that well and when you connect them to a standard 3.5 mm TRS, the wiring makes them act a little funky. Please let me know what headphones you're using and I'll see if I can diagnose the problem.

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OK, those don't require a lot of power, so that is not the problem. It is most likely the TRRS connection. That can easily be remedied by a TRRS to TRS headphone adapter, but before I would purchase that I would try to borrow a pair of headphones from another person and give it a test on the Blink system. I would bet big money that that is the issue and another pair of headphones would probably give you the level you need.
      Something like this: www.amazon.com/YCS-Smartphone-Headset-Headphones-microphone/dp/B00MV2PDCA/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2CVHAT56M89N9&dchild=1&keywords=trs+to+trrs+headphone+adapter&qid=1607711569&sprefix=trs+to+trrs+he%2Caps%2C142&sr=8-3
      But in all honesty I think your money would be better spent on a standard pair of on-ear headphones, like the Sony MDRZX110 which sell for $10, rather than a $8 adapter. www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRZX110-BLK-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B00NJ2M33I/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Sony+on+ear+headphones&qid=1607711630&sr=8-3

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1st make sure you are plugging the straight connector into the computer, if it still does not work... Certain computers do not have TRRS headphone ports. This can verified by checking you computer's specifications. But don't despair if yours does not. An inexpensive USB audio interface can fix that for less than $10, like this one.: www.amazon.com/Plugable-Headphone-Microphone-Aluminum-Compatible/dp/B00NMXY2MO/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2PGVFT4H6CWKP&keywords=usb+3.5mm+adapter+stereo&qid=1638887248&sprefix=usb+3.5mm+%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-4 But you will use the TRS cable with that. That interface will also give you. stereo functionality, which TRRS will not.

      @@SaramonicUSA Thanks! To get a bit more specific, would it make sense to combine this system with something like your MixMic to bypass/mitigate the weak pre-amps of these two cameras in question?

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is unnecessary, unless you want a mixer for it. It will give you plenty of output gain.
      If you want a mixer, I would also not suggest the MixMic. It does not have 3.5mm inputs and could not split the stereo out of the Blink500Pro system. For that I'd suggest the SR-PAX1 as a better option.

  • @idahofallsmagazine3691
    @idahofallsmagazine3691 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just got my Blink 500 Pro B2 system and it's fantastic, just as advertised. Works beautifully with all my cameras. The dual channel receiver is great to have, but I'm looking for the best workaround to independently control the channels in post (mostly to mitigate crosstalk). If I bought a SECOND receiver, would I be set? Or would I also need to pick up something like the PAX1 (which I probably get anyway for those handy XLR inputs)?

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're so glad you are loving the Blink Pro System! If you set the receiver to "stereo mode" this will split the transmitters to the left and right channels. Once you get the file into your post production software, you can split the stereo track to two mono tracks and edit each one independently. You can also use the PAX1 as you mentioned with the SR-UM10-CC1 3.5mm to dual XLR cable.

    I own Saramonic blink 500 B2. It is perfect for two person interviews and unfortunately I can't use it for my new handphone with USB C connection. If I buy Saramonic USB C Receiver, could I pair it with my old Saramonic Blink B2 Transmitter?

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if you have the original Blink 500, But unfortunately not the Pro.
      For the Pro, you cannot pair the transmitters to the RXUC receiver without the charging case, which is not yet available. We had planned to release it months ago, but supply issues have been a problem.
      BUT you can use the receiver from the Pro B2 with a $17 cable from Saramonic that will give you mono or stereo audio into USB-C, either the SR-C2001 or the SR-C2003. Both are $17.

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      80 ms is the spec that users are giving you, this also has the latency of the device their recording to. The output spec for the Blink 500 Pro System is 12 ms, this is a limitation of the IC and is common in these 2.4 GHz systems. The camera or recording device will also add its own latency from the analog to digital conversion and whatever processes go on in the operating system. So depending on the user's recording device this could be 80 ms.
      Certainly there are compensation techniques that can be made in editing.
      I hope that helps.

    If I got 2 of these kits and a splitter cable, could I record 4 microphones at once? Would there be any significant drawbacks? (I suppose I would only be able to control the audio for each system instead of for each of the 4 mics?). Still would be amazing!!!

      @SaramonicUSA  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can absolutely use two Blink Pro B2 systems at the same time for a total of 4 mics! Input gain for each microphone can be controlled from it's own transmitter. In addition, if you set each receiver to stereo mode and get one of the SR-UM10-CC1 cables for each receiver, you would then have 4 XLR connectors to go into a mixer or recorder that can capture each mic on it's own individual channel for pot production editing.

    I love my rode wireless go it served me well in the past year making video on my channel. That said this mic looks good but there a few things that bug me 🤷‍♂️. For example why use a USB C and micro USB? Why not just go with USB C for the microphone like the charging dock? And why go with a wave line instead of multiple bar that indicates when you’re clipping? New tech is fun but if it is not executed properly then it is not as appealing. How does that saying go... The devil is in the detail 😉.

    • @SaramonicUSA
      @SaramonicUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The reason we could not go with USB-C on the transmitter and receiver is because the size limitations. If we wanted to make the port USB-C we'd have to make the transmitter and receiver larger. The wave is not intended to show you clipping it is only intended to be a cool visual representation of the audio going through. It would be very difficult to put true audio metering on the transmitter and not very practical. You should always be monitoring with headphones while recording and using the metering on your camera to see if you're clipping. The transmitter is not going to help for the person at the camera who is monitoring, especially when it strapped to your talent's side.
      When compared to other products, we feel the system blows them away. If those two features turn you off I understand, but they are hopefully explained above.
      To add to that.. The fact that has a charging case that includes the battery to charge remotely is a killer compared to other products. The fact that it's a dual system is a killer compared to other products. The mic sensitivity on the transmitter is a killer. The fact that it comes with Lavaliers, TRRS output cable and more when compared to other systems is another killer. I could go on and on.
      Best regards.
