  • Hey Guys and Gals!
    In this video i take the Isuzu MU-X into Brooyar National Park and Wrattens State Forest to explore and look for some challenging tracks.
    I begin the journey in Brooyar State Forest were i stumble across a nice rocky trail that leads through the center of the forest from the Glastonbury Creek Camping Area.
    After completing a few tracks at Brooyar i continue on to Wrattens stare forest to search for some new trails. I have put in some videos of last time Lisa and I were in wrattens state forest when we explored the Mt Widgee ridge trail and summited Mt Widgee.
    I then carry on and explore some more fire trails and find a nice spot for lunch. I then explored more of the trails at Wrattens State Forest and finish the day off.
    I had my tyres down to 18 PSI front and rear to smooth out the ride and give me lots of traction over the rocky trails.
    On the fire trails i was in 4wd HIGH range and on the more technical track i was in 4wd LOW range with traction control off.
    Thanks alot for watching guys! If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more videos like this. Please like and Subscribe to my channel : )

    This is an excellent track with nice view. Put paint protection films on, then you don't have to worry the scratches.

    Good video Nick. I found your channel tonight and I'm enjoying your videos so far. It's good to watch people driving the less popular brand 4x4's (we have a new Triton - not the usual Hilux/Ranger).
    That cow was a bit suspect alright - poor bastard. If that was intentional, how could someone do such a thing? Terrible.

    How are you Nick
    Im big fan of you. From Saudi Arabia
    Why you choosed isuzu MUX? Do you think it is capable off road car like land cruiser or Jeep? What things you found in Isuzu and not in other competitors?
    Thanks bro

      Hey there! I chose the mu-x for a few reasons. Price, reliability, fuel economy and comfort. It ticked all the boxes when i was looking at modern 4x4. Compared to a landcruiser or jeep offroad they are miles apart. The jeep and landcruiser are live axle coil sprung with lockers and LSD so they are alot better out of the box offroad. But when i put some lockers in the mu-x it will get me everywhere I want to go 😊 hope that helps 😊 Cheers!

      thanks for reply
      in your opinion which is better off road mux or toyota fortuner 2.4 liter deisel engine? I will take one soon but still confused.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fahadalshammari7320 From factory i would say the fortuner would be better offroad because it comes with a factory rear diff lock. The mu-x is cheaper however and you can easily fit a locker to it and overall I prefer the mux over the fortuner. But at the end of the day you may have a different opinion so i would say the best thing to do would be test drive both and pick the one you like more. Both can be made into great offroad vehicles. 😊

    is there any EGR issue with ISUZU engine? as far as i know , nearly all diesel engine on the market when reached certain mileage would get egr / pdf issue..

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any vehicle with these systems can have issues with dpf failing and egr/ intake blocking. The dpf have a life of around 150-200,000km. They are a filter. It pays to get your intake cleaned or fit a catch can and get egr turned off. Three bond diesel upper engine cleaner is great for regular maintenance of the intake system.

    Hey Nick,
    I read that you are going to put some diff lockers on the mux.
    If so are you putting front and back?
    Will it effect auto traction control ?

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah i will eventually put some lockers in the mux. Will probably do front first. It wont effect traction controll due to the wheels not slipping when the diff is locked so there will be no reason for traction control to act on the axle that has the diff lock in use. I usually turn it off anyway when im in low range.

      @bigz2869 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Nick for your prompt reply thinking about getting a prado over mux but hard to justify price difference if I add some essential modifications like your good self I reckon i will end up with a very capable 4wd love your videos and your sensible commentary 👍👍

    Hey nick quick question mate dwhat rust proofing options do you recommend i have got me self a isuzu mux and need to get some..

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd recommend getting a good under body rust protection spray done with the bitumen/black protection paint. Good stuff! Then pretty much just cleaning the vehicle really well after each trip and touching up the bits of the under body that get the paint scraped off with anti rust black paint. If you clean your vehicle well and touch up any spots that have paint scratched off you won't have any issues with rust 😊

    Wicked channel mate, sweet rig too, much difference between MU-X and a Holden trailblazer?

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are similar in a few ways but have a different engine and gearbox (I think box is different.). Different body and interior. Chassis and suspension is the same i think though.

      @@LowRangeNick I wasn't just talking about the taking videos part. I also meant exploring nature in a 4x4. I recently bought a 4x2 truck (Nissan Navara) so I can haul stuff for work and for my house, then I get hooked in by 4x4 driving from watching videos and joining a Navara club. I still love my 4x2, but when my business gets better and I have the time and money to upgrade, I'll most probably get a 4x4 Mu-X like yours.
