Hope you guys enjoy this one! Mizuno Works is by far one of the most authentic JDM workshops over here and the never ending stash of cars and parts shows just that! If you haven't already, make sure to subscribe to the channel to help us get over the 100k mark! If you have, thank you so much!
Went to japan last October, and on the way to Mt fuji saw this small shop with an 86 Corolla levin parked outside, told my dad to visit it and while others went to those big stores similar to book off (a shop that sells anything). While checking out the Levin outside the shop, inside the garage peeking behind the Miata NA these old japanese dudes working on, a was Cressida mark II, when i noticed it, probably the owner looked at me and i had to talk in my broken Japanese. Told him the miata is cool, but pointed instead at the cressida and said “cressida?”, the owner was shocked and happy that he let me inside his garage and turned on the lights, it was cool a sight to see it being repaired and on bbs mags. Told him i love kaido culture and he was soo happy, got to love the japanese, i hope i made his day that time. Shop was Racechip in kawaguchiko Felt like sharing this moment here in the comment section as it represents the kaido culture i adore so much!
Do you got any kind of Photo from the Shop? I went to Kawaguchiko around the End of March and saw a shop with some gutted Cars in a backalley. I wonder if we might saw the same shop.
Dino, i’m really happy you finally managed to go there and make a vídeo. Besides the amazing shop and cars, Mizuno is a really nice guy. I visited the shop some years ago and he was super friendly ,gave me a tour of the shop and even served some tea ( it was a cold day) When we said good bye he presented me with some stickers! I will never forget this amazing experience. Thanks Dino for another great vídeo...as always!!
Thank you Dino for giving a voice and a spotlight on the smaller and indepedent Japanese workshops - these places really are the heart and soul of proper old school JDM style that so many of today's styles owe homage to. It would be great to have longer interviews if possible with the owners if possible to learn about their passion and experiences. Many thanks brother and hoping you get that first 100k soon!!!
Well educated. Very humble. What an eye you have through the lens. You talk to us like we are there. Not like any others that put on a show to entertain. So raw. You standout Dino DC. Keep doing you. ❤
We had the honour of visiting Mizuno's workshop in December 2016 - he gave us the full tour and even dropped us back to the station in the MK2 at 14:27 ! Absolute gentleman.
Hey Dino, this video sums up what Dino DC is all about. Digging deep into car culture, from the famed to the obscure, and delivering it all in wonderfully aesthetic quality: The images, the camera, the sound...and then the facts all brought to us in such a calm and unpretentious tone of a true enthusiast. You are virtually tending the flame, not praying to the ashes. This makes your channel stand out from the lot, which is why I keep recommending it to every petrolhead around me! Keep going!
One of the most underrated channels! Great camera work, editing and storytelling Dino! You really capture true Japan Car culture, feels like Im back in Japan everytime I watch
Good shyt D. Always been intrigued but never been exposed to any good examples here in the us. This is a cool look into the foundation of that style. I dig the owners speaking in Japanese as it allows them to speak more openly and comfortably too. 🤘🔥😎🔥🤘
Bro I live for your cinematic shots… that b roll is always so well placed in the video, the quality is amazing, and the music with it just completes it. You should do a whole video of shots like that!
I visited back in 2016, I spent an hour talking shots of all the rusty legends in the yard whilst Mizuno-San sat smoking away. Super chill guy with the best style. Thank you for the cool video.
STYYYYYYYLLLLLEEEEEE! Dude…..I don’t know whether to love the STYLE of the cars or the STYLE of your shoot and edit. Killer stuff man. Finally earned my ‘sub’. Nice work. Keep going!
Good morning Dino and happy Sunday. Places like Mizuno Works are always so interesting. I could spend hours and hours looking at all the history there. Thank you for sharing some more of the fascinating Japan car culture with us.
Dino - great to see you interview these pioneers of JDM car culture whilst they’re still round. Would be great to ask them more about the old days, what inspired their style, what the early tuning scene was about. It didn’t start when F&F came out!
Visited this shop last year in the spring time and its crazy how he has even more stuff in the side shop and the back yard now, was able to see him again at a kaido racer meeting later on in our trip and he brought out his laurel. Mizuno-san was super welcoming, sat down with us over some tea and let us nerd out and ask questions about all his stuff. He ended up giving me and my friends some some Young Auto mags from his collection and some stickers, one of my favorite shops I visited on my trip ! Great coverage on this one.
I love seeing videos like this showcasing Japanese Workshops. It motivates me to keep building my dream JDM space in Australia. It also reminds me life is short and I should embrace my own ideas and give myself permission to modify my pure OEM restored TME Evo project and enjoy a new direction with it. Thanks Mizuno Works, Thanks Dino. Subscribed :)
Yaaaassssssss!!!!!! Always sooo consistent and well documented, quality and respect towards this culture and craft!!!! Talking about BOTH da content being featured(these true Artists), but ALSO DINO, as da creator here please! Aloha🌴
This interview style is really nice, comes across as more comfortable than a tv show. Wouldn't mind seeing you just chat a bit but I understand that doing the subtitles is a bother. And I like Mizuno taking on 16s, they look so good on old cars without being so big that they look out of place.
Laughed out loud at the swearing in Italian at the end 😂😂😂 Cool video as always, I love seeing how these famous Japanese workshops are run cos it not what you'd expect to see.
I've owned both a gx61 Chaser hardtop and a gx51 Cresta, so admittedly, I've always had a little bit of a thing for the gx51/61 body an always thought i had a bit of a bias, so it makes me so happy to hear another person recognise the gx61 mark II "eagle mask" as "the one to have". especially with all this new wave of kids frothing over jzx100s 🙄. I've done 2 drift matsuris on 2 separate years an never in that time in the country did i come across one. What a truly special experience. Thanks for sharing 🙏.
If you're adding a kyusha to the collection, how about a Crown Pickup or Corona panel van so you can move parts and wheels for your other cars? That way it has a use other than just being cool.
the best was the magazine. "not sure we can show that" -next page is a literal butt >_< overall another very interesting and imformative video. thanks Dino🤘👍
Wow, Muzuno has so much cool stuff, he's loosing work space! 😅 If he had space for a dedicated storage unit for parts and wheels, he could almost use it as a museum !🤯
I definitely love these old school Japanese cars. I have a 91 Civic SI that's turboed and a 1987 Nissan pulsar that's turboed. My son has a 1982 Toyota starlet with twin Weber's and a 77 Toyota Corolla with a single Weber
Man, sees notification of new DinoDC video, man click on video, man happy😂 Finally someone covers Mizuno Works, been following them on Instagram for a long time and hoping for this day, thank you Dino
Next time you do a video remember that not everybody knows what a Ken Marys and Botukitsu including me. Is it a Toyota or a Mazda. One of them I got because of the GTR logo but rest of it is Greak to me😂.
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. I can appreciate the workmanship and they have definitely hit the notes they were aiming for, but the style doesn't travel well outside of Japan for me. I think maybe if I saw cars like this in context I might get it.

@dino_dc I agree that you should definitely look into a Laurel.. that shape 😍 👌

He’s an awesome guy 👍🏻
This is my vibe. Literally gold mine. Amazing shop to visit. So incredible 70s and 80s.
Only true gear heads can appreciate this shop. My heart just filled with joy looking at all the one of a kind parts that we will NEVER see again.

Does anyone know the name of the honda Bike on minute 8:27?
18:00 RX-5 Cosmo AP😎
🔻🔺️I'd guess that's where the 12a turbo came from.
What is the name of a grey car in the backyard looks cool
I want to see those magazines
I thought that 😂😂
Mizuno is also Punk Rock.
Black Flag,🏴,Bad Brains and 7 Seconds spray painted on wall.
Great stuff
wish I could afford to send my 1981 Toyota Corolla Tercel to Mizuno-san :)
Can a 20r drop in direct place of an 18rc without mods.?
Are any of the motorcycles for sale
Not sure, you’ll need to mail Mizuno-san and ask
Very nice!
13:10 they not Hayashi Technos?
9:31 is a Honda Dax too. Love the content though
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. I can appreciate the workmanship and they have definitely hit the notes they were aiming for, but the style doesn't travel well outside of Japan for me. I think maybe if I saw cars like this in context I might get it.
Thats a good point, these cars outside of Japan just wouldn’t be understood. In Japan however they’re sick!
