I just played Imperium for the first time solo. It's a great game with similar mechanics and card play as Lost Ruins of Arnak, which the expansion with that game is outstanding and I'll never play the base game of Arnak, again because of this.
After I received my Rise of Ix expansion and the deluxe upgrade pack today and finaly wanted to try out the solo mode I watched this video today. Man, this was a blast! Paula made this entertaining like a movie. Absolutly amazing. 😃

Most entertaining board game playthrough I’ve ever watched. What a rollercoaster of a game! I got quite caught up sharing your highs and lows throughout. What a kick to see you pull it out at the end. Thank you for the fun ride!
Dune is intense and brings out much emotion every time I play. Your play through demonstrated that extremely well and is why Dune will be a great game for a long time. Such a satisfying win, Nicely played. A solo play strategy I sometimes use is to take the mentat several turns instead of the swordmaster so i get the benefit of the card draw especially with Count Richese who gives an extra card draw for paying for a space with solari.
Love the video Paula! As an aside, the "currency" denoted by the blue diamonds on the cards that is used to by new cards is called "Persuasion", not "Influence" (which is actually referring to the influence faction tracts as you already noted.)

I'd been noticing both the Prince Rhombur and Dr. Yueh cards had been face-up for a while. If only Prince Rhombur had gone through Suk training, he'd be Price Rhombur with a rhombus tattoo!
I've really been enjoying the base game and the expansion looks like it changes things enough to be interesting whilst still keeping everything that made the game good in the first place. Also great to see more content from Paula to fill in the gaps between Things Get Dicey vids :-)
I had no interest in this game when I saw it on the shelf. After watching Paula in this play through, I have purches both the game and its expansion. I was on the edge of my seat watching Paula come from way behind to win this game. Also, while it may seem like there may have been a few mistakes made, you have to remember exactly how much is going on in this game on each turn!! Paula, thank you so much for this Table For 1! This was incredibly entertaining, you were amazing, and I cant wait until my game and expansion arrive!!! Huzzah!

Thank you for the help with this variant! I ended up just thrashing the rivals in my run. I got the "Spaceport" and "Holman Engine" techs (crazy combo there), and squeaked in a crazy conflict with the "Flagship" and "Detonation Devices" techs with Prince Rhombus. Managed to win on the first level 3 conflict! 😮

First time watching Table for 1, was good fun! I dig your upbeat energy. I nearly always lose against House Hagal, so I have no gameplay tips. Looking forward to the expansion!
I played this over the weekend at a convention (sans the expansion) and the Rabban player had an alliance with the Fremen and the running jokes during the game that Rabban was just misunderstood...he's a big teddy bear :D I managed to win (barely) thanks to a last turn purchase of "The Spice Must Flow" and having an intrigue card that gave me another. The last place player managed to rack up three victory points at the end so it was me with 9, two other players with 8 and the Tail End Charlie with 7. The card purchases and "trashing" is a big deal; we weren't really doing this because with the exception of one other player (who only played it once) we were all new to the game. Certainly worth a buy, but can't seem to find it online.
Awesome video and very funny, too! It was hilarious how you messed up on one of the early rounds where The Beast should had won the Victory Point and it would definetely have altered the endgame, but I completely understand the difficulty that represents these kind of videos and we gamers should be grateful that they exist! Now, I want to try the Solo Mode again in order to correct all of my own mistakes, that thanks to your fabulous video I can see I made (especially on the Frighter track). Keep doing this amazing job and greetings from Mexico!

Not sure if you notice this later in the video, so disregard if so, but when you play cards for their agent box, they remain "in play" until cleanup at the end of your reveal turn. doesn't matter in starting deck but matters later for Fremen Bond and other effects. Again when I finish this video in the morning I may realize this comment was unnecessary 😂 but maybe it'll actually be helpful
My strategy is trying to get the sword master as fast as possible! Having an extra turn is way too good to not focus on. Very exciting end to this video, keep it up!

Sorry I have another question... What happens if I have my third agent and I have nowhere to send him? I couldn't afford anything from the imperium row. Like, I literally couldn't send the agent anywhere. Do I just skip to the conflict phase?
You said that the AI only gets the resources printed on the card, but the rules state they gain resources and intrigue cards. I’ve been playing it as when they land on a space that gives resources they take them, like for instance they land on one of the spice spots. I’m not sure if this is correct or if I’m making the game harder.

It's clear that this is a great game as poor Paula was having at least 3 choices to do action, and somehow, she did a lot without water and spice which in the world of Dune is a little weird. Not a hundred percent sure.... but aren't you supposed to move troops from garrison to center when a conflict space is flipped for rival?... regardless of new troops, they get to move 2 into the conflict from garrison... tell me I am wrong
Great solo playthrough, but Paula keeps discarding her played cards during her turn. Technically, a player does not discard their cards as they play, unless you are doing a "Discard" action. The reason being, it is possible where you might need to shuffle your Discard Pile in order to Draw A Card during your turn. If you've been discarding your cards during your turn, it's possible to draw the same card that was previously played in the same turn. All played cards during your turn stay in your Play Area until the final phase of the turn, when you do the Clean-Up action.
"And then Paula told a joke but it's OK. It was my fault. And I don't want her to stop." Umm, how do I know if I'm in an abusive relationship with a TH-cam channel? Asking for a friend.
NOTE! If you notice Paula starts with fewer troops in her garrison than normal, don't worry, she catches it shortly after and corrects :)
Paula also forgot to put those two yellow troops into a conflict. They should be deployed via Still Suits action on House Hagal card.

On your turn you either place an agent and perform a reveal turn, so in a case where you can’t place an agent, you’d have to perform a reveal turn.

At 47:11 Paula is using a "Dune the Desert Planet" to go to a blue space. That is not allowed - only yellow spaces 🙂

I would say so, I believe the license is based on the movies, so you'll notice the character art does look similar to the actors from the movie.
I did not play solo lot of time but I think that Paula missed to deploy 2 troups in the conflict from the garison when the Prince went to "Stillsuits"

Not a hundred percent sure.... but aren't you supposed to move troops from garrison to center when a conflict space is flipped for rival?... regardless of new troops, they get to move 2 into the conflict from garrison... tell me I am wrong

I believe this effect is meant for the "Player Turns" phase specifically, which occurs before the Combat Phase.

Great solo playthrough, but Paula keeps discarding her played cards during her turn. Technically, a player does not discard their cards as they play, unless you are doing a "Discard" action. The reason being, it is possible where you might need to shuffle your Discard Pile in order to Draw A Card during your turn. If you've been discarding your cards during your turn, it's possible to draw the same card that was previously played in the same turn.
All played cards during your turn stay in your Play Area until the final phase of the turn, when you do the Clean-Up action.

Aren’t the AI opponents supposed to trade in 7 spice for a VP everytime they get 7?
In Rise of Ix, they'll hoard that spice to be able to buy technology until we get into Combat 3 cards--one of the little changes with the expansion
