This is such a great resource for players new to the game! Well made, clearly articulated, and deftly edited, as usual. Every Ix player should watch this.
Some feedback: as a player who is quite well familiar with the base game I wished you would have focused more on specific IX interactions/strategies. This video was more a general dune guide imo but what I wanted is to learn the most important IX plays. Keep up the good content though
I just discovered a really cool combo. Desert Ambush: $3, Fremen, Yellow triangle, "For each troop you deploy this turn, you may force an enemy unit to retreat." $1 and 1Sword Intrigue Plot card 'Dispatch An Envoy': The card you play this turn has the following icons: Emperor, Spacing Guild, Bene Gesserit, Fremen. Play these 2 cards on Heighliners after a big build up in the conflict zone and send a WHOLE bunch of enemies home!
Great video. I personally disagree with the trashing bad cards though. Like you said, game can go fast, and being stuck with a bad hand that doesn't let you go where you need to go can cost whole games IMO. I do feel some trashing is necessary to win personally.
If the value of the cards you’re drawing are better because of things you are removing then trashing cards is an excellent strategy. Continually drawing into bad starting cards is never good. Getting some early starts on Selective Breeding is awesome. Gets rid of bad cards, get influence and card draw.
Lots of good basic strategy suggestions here. I just played my fifth game with my regular group and won for the first time. In my first game I barely knew the mechanics. Then for a couple of games I had an opening strategy but no end strategy. Now I kind of know what I am doing in the end game, and this certainly helps.
Thanks, this was insightful. I am just now getting into the game and this sort of quick rundown of the most important concepts is exactly what i was looking for so i know what to look for when seeing others play and trying to learn from that.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it, that’s exactly what I hoped it would do. It can be an intimidating game for newcomers and there weren’t any good introductory resources out there
Wow awesome video and i subscribed mid way in it to. Very insightful. Also made me realize I toally misplayed the 'Kwisatz Haderach" card, and i used it like a normal worker, from my supply to the board, rather then from anywhere on the board to another board space. (That game i lost by 1 point) and as you said, "If played properly, wins the game outright." (Even more eager now to get this game back to the table. :) ) Thank you for your great video and keep up the great videos. :)
I greatly prefer to learn a game on my own, organically. Still, having been stomped twice in this game forced my hand and I came across this video & your channel. Watched this video thrice over a few months and got some wins (and a few close games which I was also happy with). Thank you.
Hey there! Thanks for the great in-depth video. I am preparing after playing the game for the first time and hopefully I can implement a strat or two in our next session.
Great video. Please can you start doing leader specific strategies other than the usual baron tesia and arch Duke. Maybe lesser leaders like Ariana, Paul or "old spice" thorvald. Just a request. Keep up the Great work. Popular game with current content is a winner. Thank you for taking the time to do so.
6:05 I take these Intrigue cards out of the deck because, as u said, it's luck based VPs. Everything else is open knowledge. And the intrigue deck is already huge
I have a question if anyone can help, thank you! On the Liet Kynes card it says "for each Fremen card IN PLAY", does that include the cards you used for your agents too ? If we look at the rulebook Icon Guide and Additional Terms is says: "In Play - Cards you play on Agent turns and reveal during your reveal turn remain face up and “in play” until you clean up at the end of your Reveal turn (unless they are trashed first)". It just seems too OP to be true.
love this video! strategy explained in depth yet easy to understand! I have been trying out different mod of TTS, but I have never seen the one you used in the video. Where did you get it?!
What is the "official" way to pick leaders? We usually deal out 2/3 for each players to pick from ( depending on player count) and we choose simultaneously.
Dune Imperium roles are picked before the start player is decided. You shouldn't decide your role after that has been decided. Otherwise good guide. I don't agree everywhere, but it covers the core pretty well.
Barely matters anymore. There’s always someone adding some freakin’ home rule to the game. Myself included. I’m guilty for adding one more card to the imperium row. 🙃
Do you see cards that are good but cheap? Choose Armand.. However, you don't see them first. You choose Armand first and then have to hope that the cards get revealed.
What are your thoughts on Epic Mode? Still haven't tried it. Is the 12 point threshold/higher stakes combat gamewarping enough to make trashing more favorable?

Thank you! Most of my early learning of the game came from watching your videos so this is a huge compliment
The meta is becoming more and more stale. Shipping is totally busted. Dreadnoughts are a joke.
@@yview7315 recently won a game in 4th position only shipping once. And while having 2 dreadnoughts, so...

That is an INSANE combo, I would love to see that pulled off in a match

100% agree. Clearing your engine of bad cards is a great strategy and will always ensure good cards are always being played on your turn.

Thank you! And yeah I intend to do deeper dives in the future, especially for some of the lesser played leaders
Great video man- very well thought out and helpful! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I find your tips very useful! Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Very smart stratregies. I will use them in my next games. Thanks :)
Good luck!
best guide to plan within plans
Great video, thanks! Would you say that getting an Council Seat in early game is better than rushing for Swordmaster?
Very informative. Thanks

Yeah I think that’s reasonable
Any chance we get an updated and/or deeper version? I know you like Dreadnauts more these days, anything else? Thank you!
Much deeper ones coming soon actually… stay tuned
Thank you for the tips!

@orski78 any way to get a stratego guide updated to Immortalirity or you focus on Uprising now?
love this video! strategy explained in depth yet easy to understand!
I have been trying out different mod of TTS, but I have never seen the one you used in the video.
Where did you get it?!
Glad you liked it!
The mod is "Dune Imperium - rise of Ix (scripted)". Make sure theres a bar not a + sign between. There are 2 with similar names.
If you are cycling out the bad cards you will be going through your deck more. That’s just how that works.
Yeah also I feel him saying the game is too quick anyway will not be a problem for beginners/people looking for a guide

Otherwise good guide. I don't agree everywhere, but it covers the core pretty well.
But the flop of the imperium row is seen, right?
You pick your leader first. Then setup of the Tech Tiles and cards for the imperium row is revealed.
Barely matters anymore. There’s always someone adding some freakin’ home rule to the game. Myself included. I’m guilty for adding one more card to the imperium row. 🙃
Is there a good source where you have Tierlists for everything in one place?
Cool tips! Thanks!
You’re welcome!
How do you play online ?
I was about to downlaod table top simulator but I don’t see rise to ix anywhere or how much it cost to buy it ?
The mods (dune ix) are free after you download TTS
@@orski78 let me know if I want to walk me through a game I kinda get it but need in game experience
This is super helpful, thank you! There are like 4 different mods in the workshop with that exact name. Can you provide a link (or the author's name)?

Play Meme-non. That is all. (note, will watch the vid, promise)
