Brilliant. Thanks. Saved me buying a new machine - disassembled to clear a blockage. Wouldn’t have been confident enough to force some of the panels without your guidance.

thanks Michael. your video really helped i was able to replace the extractor head and now working again with no leak. a little tip when putting in the white pipe into new assembly you can use a small screwdriver to help it push in. Couldn't have fixed my machine without this video

Read the comments below before attempting. At 3:28 he removes a plug from the control board but the holder to the pcb board comes away with it (cannot seperate). You cannot just re-fix the plug then. It needs someone to re-solder the holder to the electrical board. Wish I had read the same comments before buying a new extractor head !

Thanks I bought a replacement extractor, and the hardest part of the job was getting the spout of the front of the old unit. I then found it was filthy with sticky coffee residue, which was probably the cause of the leak. The other hard part was inserting the tube, but a little bit of dilute washing up liquid, on the tip, provided just enough lubrication to enable me to click it back in place. It was really helpful to be made aware of the screw inside!
    Thanks

Thank you so much, replaced extraction head following your tutorial. Got stuck on inserting the hose, then just made a thin stick from the Chinese bamboo chopstick and pushed with it that metal thing (on the end of the hose) deeper into the position. Done!

Disconnect the hose in the other end located at the side of the machine, and pull it out together with the extractor. It is then MUCH easier to get the clip back later on. And as someone wrote, use something small like a paper clip to push it down when putting the clip back.

Thanks, I’ve got the EN550.W updated and slightly different to this, main difference in disassembly is the clip on thePCB which is much harder to remove as it has two tiny brown plastic clips holding it on. Sadly my extraction head is leading from with in, it was actually very clean. The extraction head replacement, hard to get and seem to out of stock everywhere.

Hi Michael, I’m in safety Bay, my latissima is leaking water out of the top, is this the reason you have replaced the extraction head? I got part of the way through the dismantle with your video to help me and realised that I may have to replace the entire head too. I figured there may just be a loose or misaligned seal, but I can’t see one. Where did you purchase the part?

Anyone know where to get the rubber part (gasket) separately? All diagrams and sources online point to an o-ring, which it isn't - you can see in the video that it's a cylindrical object - Michael has it in his hand at 6:14 and talks about how the new kit came with a new seal - I don't need the kit - I just need the seal - mine is cracked. Tried to improvise with 2 SAECO o-rings - made things worse.

Dear, why were changing the piece? It was leaking clear hot water on the top of the extractor head? Was it broken? How did it break? My machine is leaking clean hot water on the top, between the extractor head and the gray cover, and I think the extractor could be the problem. Thanks.

Whatever you do, do not remove the plug with pliers like that the plug actually has tabs on each side that hold it in place. If you grab it with pliers you will rip the mount off of the board. This is why people are commenting “how do I put the plug back”.

Thx for the video. Saved our machine last time.
Now we replaced the extractor head again because we had water leaking in the bottom container. But the problem is not solved this time. Does anyone have a suggestion? It seams that the coffee making process is slower as if the machine struggles to pump water through the coffee capsule and sends some of the water down to the bottom container. Thx in advance! Best regards Mia

Thanks Michael for the video. I have read all the comments and I am now going to attempt this repair as mine is leaking water from the top badly and thorough multiple cleanings has the filter head area very clean and free flowing but still leaks out the top. I see ppl having these 3 issues:
    1. Snapping off the electrical connector from the board
    2. Removing the filter head
    3. Ordering the part
2 and 3 I think are doable but 1 is concerning. Can you do the repair and leave the cable connected, or can you disconnect it more carefully as to no break off the connector from the board? Thanks!

    • @bradloflin6776
      @bradloflin6776 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Follow-up: I ordered part from buyspares.co.uk and did the repair. I avoided the electrical issues by not disconnecting the cable and instead swinging the top over to the side and taping it in place to stabilize it while I replaced the extraction head. Only issue was the “Coffee Outlet” plastic part does have to be snapped off in order to do this. With a little patience and a pair of small flat blade screwdrivers it can be pried off. It’s pretty strong. If you’re worried, order a spare, it’s only 3 bucks. It has a lip at the bottom that you have to bend the whole thing forward to pull it up and out (and reverse on reassembly).
Overall, easy job that took about 30 minutes going slowly. One, last note, once all put back, the whole thing did NOT work. Unfortunately, I needed to descale so I had an orange light and two white lights but no buttons worked. Even with the descale pipe, no buttons worked. Research showed it may be that it needs to be primed. However, with a strong small magnet I was able to move it around the descale pipe entry area and trigger some discharge activity. Worked with it for a long time and gave up leaving it full of water plugged in all night. Today, everything is fine! Descaled and made a delicious latte. I’ve had the steam side modded to be a steam wand for a couple years now and that’s been the best thing ever. (Details if someone is interested).
