This speech made me a bit emotional. I really related to it. I've struggled with extreme shyness my whole life. Any social situation makes me want to hide or cry. Talking to anyone including my own family members can make me so nervous that my voice shakes and all the thoughts fall out of my head. Public speaking is almost impossible for me. I've had to give 5-10 minute speeches in college and I start shaking so much it's hard for others to understand what I'm saying. I feel like I'm the version of this man who is scared and wanted to stay at his covert zone but my comfort zone means not leaving the house. I'm not okay with that. I don't want that to be my future. I have to change because my life depends on it. I'm going to rewatch this speech as many times as I need to until I can gain some confidence. This man really does put things into perspective. I'm still nervous and my heart is pounding about all the speaking that I'll be doing tonight but after listening to this I can say that I'm embracing the challenge! I'm scared but I'm not giving up.
Glad you could relate to this! I would recommend taking small steps, before a full public speech. Sometimes the physiological reactions are too strong; I would suggest trying medication along with self-motivation - as a last resort.
Me too in same kind of situation till my childhood. Escaping and crying all the time. Waisted half of my life. This video gave a kind of motivation nd technique to manage. Thanks Man.
“What are you afraid of?” Passing out cold on stage, voice shaking, trembling like a drug addict, forgetting everything I had to say, dying of total humiliation... yeah, that sums up the small problems.
Last week all of a sudden I had to present on stage a poem that I wrote on my own . I literally shivered on stage. The judges asked me why am I so tensed.. the whole crowd laughed including the camera man...I couldn't sleep the whole night...I really want to improve myself and give a better performance next time. This video is really inspiring.

Animesh, I don't know if you'd go through my comment however I wish to mention that this is one of the best videos on Public speaking I've ever seen. I can't tell you how many people don't dare telling the great the stories because they lack in this skill. This video is a great help for the people who are scared of public speaking. Congrats! Keep going!
I laughed so much during this speech and mainly because I can relate to what he's saying. The crowd was just dead... What a guy he is I really want ti meet him in real life and have a converstion with him! Awesome JOB!
I watched this before I had to go speak in front of my church, so about 100 people. as I walked up, I felt relaxed and my voice was a little shaky but I did it and I know I could’ve done better. the thing is though, people aren’t judging you on the small things. even though my voice shaked, a dozen people told me I sis so well and I have such confidence and poise. what we sound like in our heads is not always what other people are hearing and noticing . if you have a speech coming up or presentation , respond to this comment and i’ll try to give you advice relating to your situation! remember to believe in yourself and focus on success, not failure.

This eight year old video is the best fear of public speaking presentation I've ever seen. They should show this to every level of student, elementary age to college students.
I have a presentation tomorrow. More like a group discussion. But every time I present, my voice shakes, my heart pounds so hard, I forget how to breathe, and I I start to sweat, etc. But I'm going to try and do it not for my mark but for myself. Thanks
When you type "public speaking anxiety" you get a lot of this "motivational" discourses where people of all types are giving pieces of advices on how to overcome this anxiety, how to fight it and be successful.I think that what everyone forgets is that for most of those people dealing with this the problem is deeply rooted and it's not something that you can overcome by seeing this speeches or by practicing.I have been trying in the last 10 years to overcome the anxiety with no success, I've been doing cognitive therapy, I attended public speaking trainings, I gave 5-10 presentations and every single time I had huge anxiety and a big depression afterwards.Even today I have big problems when it comes to delivering a presentation and i have to consume large quantities of energy just for another failure and depression. The problem is not with the anxiety, some people are born this way or they "get ill" during their first years of life, thus the problem will never be solved. The only solution is to change the environment with a new one that is not worsening your anxiety...
Have you tried joining Toastmasters (they even have online clubs)? Or perhaps some VR speaking simulators that you can practice in the comfort of your own home?
@@kalak9034 Hey! thanks for asking! I'm alright, I changed the "environment" and now I'm not being confronted with presentations of any type. They secret is not to try to adapt to something you don't fit, the secret is to choose in life what suits you best.
Thank you Animesh! Today was my presentation and I saw your video yesterday. I realised I had to fight with myself.. win over me, and you know I did!! I did today! I was confident, I wasn't trembling, my voice wasn't shaky, and I was louder than ever in my life. In my whole life till now, I haven't delivered such good presentation as I did today. I thank you so much. And this video is just perfect for anybody who wants to challenge himself/herself!
today i just lost my interview because of my fear like what if i do mistake finally it took me that way.but from now i don't give up anymore and im not ready to loose one more.thanq you sir such a nice reality u gave to all. from the core of my heart.
I have anxiety but I push myself everyday to confront my fears. You have to realize that it's your journey not others. I am realizing that the only one way to overcome any kind of fears is by confronting it. If you try to run from fear, it will get more worst.
I had run away so many times from my college and still I am struggling but have figured it out a lot. When I was 10 years old I was given the opportunity to present a poem in large audience. I got nervous, shaky and couldn’t finish that off. From that moment of life to 2017 April, I always escaped the presentations or speeches. I met Sadhguru on 2017 April at Excel London and learned Shambhavi from him and doing it regularly. Now I feel much better and much confidence. I have spoken few times in group meeting and I have no fear or less fear of anything including death. 🙏🙏🙏😍 My life is owe to Sadhguru.
Wow, I'm so inspired...I'm going for it! " You wanna lough at me, go ahead because frankly, I don't really care about this audience. I care about what I'm going to be 10 years from now. What I'm going to think of my self 10 years from now. You know what, bring it on!!!"
@@AnimeshGupta01just because you made this video, I'm going to never speak in public. Not only this, but I'll also try to convince others never to speak in public. Thanks 💩
This guy is changing my life. I watch this video every time before I speak on the stage... I had my first public speaking experience a few days after I watched this video. I aspire to speak as confidently as he does.
when people say ,this video will change your life i was like..lol ! but what can i say is today this video made my day and i was selected for my job interview
You know it’s a good speech when the crowd is 100% engaged and silent. Great Job! I’ve had social anxiety for many years but the last few years it has had crippling effects. This was wonderful! Thanks for sharing
I've never spoke in front of a crowd but if I did I would start crying, messing up easy words, and shaking. Same with reading out loud but my voice starts getting shaky and I start getting quieter. This speech made me so emotional.
I get chills every time I’m watching this because I had a very similar story . Thank you. Your challenge impacted millions of people trough out the world!
what a wonderful and pumping speech 👍👍😍. earlier i used to think that i am the only one who wants to die or cry whenever wanted to speak up and perform but always being drowned by fear of English and shyness but now this speech made me realised that we all same no matter where we are .we have to get the guts to face or otherwise regret for the whole life.
Seriously one of the best videos on public speaking I have watched so far and have saved it so that I can watch it before presentations and interviews! Thank you so much, it is life or death!
I can completely relate to this situation Last month I had a presentation in my college and I couldn't speak because of the nervousness but I need to change ,change for my future for my career because without this I won't be able to do anything Thank you for this video!!
I am suffered this stage phobia from childhood and today i am preparing for my tomorrow presentation and prepared myself for being overcome this phobia .... It's not about presentation it's all about this fear of stage and now I am fighting with myself to overcome this ....guys plz wish me all the best ❤️ if i could not do my presentation tomorrow then i can't win from this fear 😨
Amazing! I was fortunate to have this guy as my Instructor for my mock interviews. I cracked his interview. he said, "I'll select you for your honesty, but you aren't good in English but don't worry about that, it is just you need to deliver the message".
I have to give a speech in my public speaking class (forced to take it) in a couple weeks and i'm so scared. I know i'm gonna screw up because i had to give a presentation in my English class earlier in the year and it was terrible. What gets me is when everybody in the class starts looking at me and its all quiet, and I don't why but I my heart just started pumping insanely fast and hard (never felt something like that up until that point, it freaked me out), I began to sweat all over and get hot, and I almost began crying in front of everyone. Luckily I was able to get through because I had a paper to look to and read during the presentation. But now what makes this next speech worse is that I have to memorize it, and I'm getting graded for HOW I give the speech, its a public speaking class after all. I honestly think I may pass out during the speech in front of the whole class, no joke..... just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt :(
In ancient Greece Demosthenes would go to the ocean and attempt to recite orations louder than the waves. Still would be good way for practicing public speaking
Excellent. I can relate myself to the man who never wants to speak up publically, though there are always lots of ideas in my mind, they die there itself. I am trying to overcome the fear of public speaking and I am sure one year down the line I'll be a better speaker , a better person than I am today. I don't regret living a life of mediocrity so far , but I'll try to change it. Thank you sharing the video.
one of the best speech I have seen on anxiety. I have been suffering with anxiety for last 2 years which gradually increased due to lonely business travels I did for my company , now I can say I am at the peak stage of anxiety disorder. I am a great sincere , hard worker. Developed great SW for my company . but not able to reach my goals as I m getting severe panic attacks of anxiety in meetings, discussions, and also in public gathering. Used to watch many videos, but this video is the best. I hope I can solve my problem very soon.
Till now in my life i didn't seen a video like this in TH-cam you really thought me a good lesson What a unique style of presentation hats off brother Really inspired me
Great! I am starting to think this way myself now and watching this helped to reinforce the idea. I am starting to not even care if my nerves mess me up completely! Now I am watching this girl in my classes fake illnesses and walk away from presentations, its like watching my former self!
Great I hope everything goes well which I am sure it will! Before I posted this I had not done a presentation but was getting ready to after a long time avoiding the situation. I did it with the girl I was referring to as a group project. We were both terrified! I was right she almost didn't make it nor did I haha. We both got up and it went well and we got to feel the best feeling after ward! Like a heavy weight lifted and it was great. The level of fear I felt was horrendous but I had got to the point where the feeling of not doing it was worse, no increase in confidence really just a do or die kind of feeling he explains here. I have worked so hard towards my degree and to let slip out of my hands because of something so minor was killing me inside. Please spend sometime visualising yourself being successful and the feeling of accomplishment after, really feel it as if you have done it. Good luck! :)
Great presentation. I went through the process in my mind, and I was shivering just thinking about it. I left my last school year, the year i have to pass to go to university. I had a weak time because of some stuff, but the thing that made me left was because of a few presentations in front of my class, but mainly because of the end-year exam presentation. Allthough i still think that it is an ugly thing to put a student through this in the most important year, where you have so much to do, so many lifechanging things, it is so important to not hide, not give up, because of a fear of public speaking. I had moments when i could barely talk, my heart pumping so much that i felt a ridiculous pressure in my neck and my head, i heard my heart. Uncontrollable shaking and stutering, disgusting. But as he says, you should NOT run away from this, for me, it almost cost me my life, socially, my partner and many other things. This year i get my second chance at the age of 26, do my last year and finally go study. I realize how big of a chance i've got here instead of beeing miserable. I train myself to look at problems as opportunities to grow, oppuortunities to grow. Don't hide, don't waste your life! I hope somebody feels a motivated. I'm sure i'm not the only one in this situation. Don't throw you life away, it is worth fighting for. I wish you guys reading this and watching these kinds of videos all the best! You'll do it!
wow that's amazing! I have a speech to do tomorrow. I'm kinda nervous but I know it'll be okay. I'm so glad you got through your problems. even though I don't know you, I feel proud of you!!
"I have a meeting in a hall today, and after the meeting, some people asked me to market their app. They want to record a video where I say something about it. I felt disappointed because, in my whole life, I’ve never spoken in front of people. But today, I want to change that and do something different for myself. I also hope you can be brave enough to change something in yourself, too.
This is beyond amazing. Amazing and creative presentation. He covered each and every aspect of the fears that we face while speaking. I just don't have enough words to describe this presentation.
This is the most Passionate speech I’ve ever heard !!! WOW DUDE that’s just beautiful man !! I’ll never forget what you said thankyou !! Yeah the crowd was pretty lifeless but he was amazing !!
Thank you so much for this presentation. I go through this almost everyday, of running away from exactly what I want to do. Your story is inspiring and it's going to help many. I've never heard of NLP, I"m glad you introduced this to us. Feel it, Face it, and grow... Thank you!
Awesome video ! My CEO asked me to do a presentation tonight in front of several hundred people. As a life long introvert I was absolutely petrified of doing this. I actually considered faking a severe illness to get out of this but after this i am going and getting this done.
That was really amazing. Inspirational video. I always get fears about the next video I'm going to make: "Is it going to do well?", "What if its too boring?", "What if nobody watches?", etc. But thinking about the opposite - not making any videos and then living a life of regret of 'What if...?' - that isn't for me. I don't have a particular fear of public speaking but have other fears that hinder me. Thanks for this video. Needed it. :)
Great Speech Animesh Sir :D I just want to share this with you (yes you! the one who is reading this) This speech really motivated me, now I want to face the audience ~ whatever may be the consequences of my speech Nobody is going to stop me from speaking in front of audience because I want to be a perfect speaker at the end of my engg.
thank you soo much.i had problem with public speaking coz of social anxiety.coudnt do PPTs in my classroom but one day i was asked to do MC for a national conference in my college.i was beyond scared but wanted to not back out.i listened to this ,prepped myself and i did well. i did not shiver too! thank you!! just believe you can,and you will.
I am always sitting in the last bench of my class but i see this and i decided that i try to sit on the front bench of class and conquer my fear.....thank you...
Excellent one ...reminds me of my struggle and one day taking a decision whatever it takes i will come out of it ... ofcourse i had much bigger problem than in the mind .. but as he said anything is better than hiding and escaping ...
Last day i chickened out of giving presentation....i watched this video, flared with determination i prepared, ...and today too i chickened out at the last moment.
It's okay, just prep more, and put yourself in front of a less intense situation if possible. If not, keep fighting... at least promise yourself to show up and go through with it
the way he presented a double personality in us, that is commendable! hopefully it will be helpfull for those who really feel scared when they have to just meet their eyes with audience on stage. I would say speech was motivational and full of energy
your 'responding back to self ' technique is amazing to kill fear of public speaking and gain confidence.kudos to you Animesh.A big thank you, this will certainly help some folks.
This is very inspiring. I didn't face people, I could not talk with a stranger or in public for 2 min..But now I think I can push my self and can come out of my comfort zone..thank you for your speech
I always regret🤧 not being able to stand in front of an audience.Even praying in a small group is a problem. I tend to minimize my voice as I continue to pray. My ego will be like what if you mispronounce a word, they will laugh at you. But I really want to overcome this💪
everyday one TEDx video can change one life ...it's jst not a video it's a kind of energy, inspiration, building confident every day...n I changed a lot ..thank t all d speakers...
All the things you said I can relate to , I have social anxiety , I can't speak up in public ... But your dialogue " there is a gun into your parents head" have given me a boost not to escape.. thanxx a lot ...

2) Practice breathing (Wim Hof)
3) Meditate 5 mins a day seeing yourself on stage speaking and doing well
4) On the day cut out caffeine, do some exercise, take a cold shower

I have a presentation tomorrow. More like a group discussion. But every time I present, my voice shakes, my heart pounds so hard, I forget how to breathe, and I I start to sweat, etc. But I'm going to try and do it not for my mark but for myself. Thanks
Ken H how did it go? I just did a presentation and I had the same experience as you :/
Hope you applied some of it!! You're welcome!
Ken H me too
Same thing happens to me
Happens to me as well
The speech was great - but the crowd was so dead ... mehhh ~ They are not at a funeral, I believe.
Thank you!
MrLusec exactly ,he demonstrated so well and the audience were in dilemma whether even to clap or not .well said
+Abhishek Chintu ,Congo bro
MrLusec exactly
you are misunderstood, actually they are just hypnotized, spellbound. they are focusing way too much.
dudeee I have a presentation tomorrow for finals and this makes me feel so confident
Wow..really..hang in there..but yes it's so hard..
Have you tried joining Toastmasters (they even have online clubs)? Or perhaps some VR speaking simulators that you can practice in the comfort of your own home?
Relatable these videos doesn't help me.
I know its too late to ask, but are you alright bro?
Be brave and keep trying👍
@@kalak9034 Hey! thanks for asking! I'm alright, I changed the "environment" and now I'm not being confronted with presentations of any type. They secret is not to try to adapt to something you don't fit, the secret is to choose in life what suits you best.
It was too good and the effort he puts in this speech clearly shows his struggle.
Hats off
Thank you Animesh!
Thank you so much sir, today i gave presentation in front 140 people. Ur video insired me to do that ...
Wow that's amazing to hear, Kalyan!! You're welcome!
my listening improve a lot, i can listen to his speech 100% without missing out a word :)))
today i just lost my interview because of my fear like what if i do mistake finally it took me that way.but from now i don't give up anymore and im not ready to loose one more.thanq you sir such a nice reality u gave to all. from the core of my heart.
So glad to hear that! Good luck!!
Nailed it man!
I have a stage performance to do,shortly. And after this refreshing and motivating speech of yours I ended up saying "I Want this".
Thank you! : )
This almost brought tears to my eyes... thank you so much!
Wow, I'm so inspired...I'm going for it! " You wanna lough at me, go ahead because frankly, I don't really care about this audience. I care about what I'm going to be 10 years from now. What I'm going to think of my self 10 years from now. You know what, bring it on!!!"
You're welcome!!!
How did it go
My self talk... For last 40 year's This guy presented in finest way.. Thanks for helping me to understand issue.
Thanks, Animesh! Great presentation and message.
You're welcome! Glad you found this useful.

@@AnimeshGupta01 it is really really helpful
@@AnimeshGupta01just because you made this video, I'm going to never speak in public. Not only this, but I'll also try to convince others never to speak in public. Thanks 💩
This guy is changing my life. I watch this video every time before I speak on the stage... I had my first public speaking experience a few days after I watched this video. I aspire to speak as confidently as he does.
Wow! That's so good to hear! :)
@@AnimeshGupta01 hi sir, how are you?? 🙂you're supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
today I have my interview and this video entirely changed my perspective ,let's see what's going to happen
Abhishek Chintu what happened bro?
when people say ,this video will change your life i was like..lol ! but what can i say is today this video made my day and i was selected for my job interview
Wow, this message made me happy. You're welcome! (Y)
Abhishek Chintu I am more inspired by you then the video
thank you , keep going buddy!
Loved this video, I was in a play today and was able to perform much better!
Glad you found it useful!!
Thank you!! Glad you found it useful.
I could feel the confidence building up while watching this video! Thank you so much!
So glad to hear, Shruti! Thanks!
In my 20 years of Public Speaking practicing in front of a mirror has always helped me excel
Thanks for sharing. Hope you found the video useful!
what a wonderful and pumping speech 👍👍😍.
earlier i used to think that i am the only one who wants to die or cry whenever wanted to speak up and perform but always being drowned by fear of English and shyness but now this speech made me realised that we all same no matter where we are .we have to get the guts to face or otherwise regret for the whole life.
Happy to hear that, Shivam!!
Seriously one of the best videos on public speaking I have watched so far and have saved it so that I can watch it before presentations and interviews! Thank you so much, it is life or death!
This is a really excellent speech. He had pointed out all possible fear coming ways. Also, he gave an escape plan from all scares.
I can completely relate to this situation
Last month I had a presentation in my college and I couldn't speak because of the nervousness but I need to change ,change for my future for my career because without this I won't be able to do anything
Thank you for this video!!
You're welcome! Glad you found it useful.
Don't worry 😄...u will do well in u r presentation 😊❣️
How did it go Sakshi?
Amazing! I was fortunate to have this guy as my Instructor for my mock interviews.
I cracked his interview. he said, "I'll select you for your honesty, but you aren't good in English but don't worry about that, it is just you need to deliver the message".
Hahah. I said I'd select you? That's RARE!
Thank you for the comment.
"anything but that" is the part that got me. Bring it on.
I honestly think I may pass out during the speech in front of the whole class, no joke..... just thinking about it makes my stomach hurt :(
How did it go? x
How was it?
I think he passed away..
RIP for those who are reading this and dont want to pass out , open your mouth
How was it?
@@Turplemaple6318 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂This killed me
In ancient Greece Demosthenes would go to the ocean and attempt to recite orations louder than the waves. Still would be good way for practicing public speaking
With a pebble in his mouth
There exists by all means much better speeches on TED, but there's something so genuine about this one that inspires one tremendously.
So glad you liked it! Thank you so much!
one of the best speech I have seen on anxiety.
Wow, great to hear! Keep at it!
Till now in my life i didn't seen a video like this in TH-cam you really thought me a good lesson
What a unique style of presentation hats off brother
Really inspired me
Great! I am starting to think this way myself now and watching this helped to reinforce the idea. I am starting to not even care if my nerves mess me up completely! Now I am watching this girl in my classes fake illnesses and walk away from presentations, its like watching my former self!
+Octavia Lea Wow, that's great!! (Y)
The method he used to explain his talk made the whole situation easily understanble, very unique way of delivering in a Ted talk, a must watch video
This is beyond amazing. Amazing and creative presentation. He covered each and every aspect of the fears that we face while speaking. I just don't have enough words to describe this presentation.
Thank you so much, Hameed!
Thank you!

+LIMITLESS - Confidence, Soft-skills, Personality, and EI Are you Animesh Gupta? If so then great video
I had this fear
Fear of losing carrier as well as fear of speaking simultaneously,
How contradicting!!!
I really like the way of dealing ❤with your problems and solving by NLP
Salute to you sir!It is one of the most needed thing for us!
Mr. Gupta you nailed it....... it's really help us.......
Got the best video on how to tackle nervousness during speech after watching hundreds of videos
This is so relatable, even i was unable to speak in presentations in my class, but now i am so confidence, because i started believeing in myself.
Awesome video ! My CEO asked me to do a presentation tonight in front of several hundred people. As a life long introvert I was absolutely petrified of doing this. I actually considered faking a severe illness to get out of this but after this i am going and getting this done.
Bavariandecent322 hey how was ur presentation..?
It went well !!!! I am sure it could have been better but i got through it without puking on myself or passing out !
I've never seen this kind of video for overcoming stage fear. You nailed it man🔥
Thank you! Glad you found it useful!
Needed it. :)

Great Speech Animesh Sir :D
I just want to share this with you (yes you! the one who is reading this) This speech really motivated me, now I want to face the audience ~ whatever may be the consequences of my speech Nobody is going to stop me from speaking in front of audience because I want to be a perfect speaker at the end of my engg.
thank you soo much.i had problem with public speaking coz of social anxiety.coudnt do PPTs in my classroom but one day i was asked to do MC for a national conference in my college.i was beyond scared but wanted to not back out.i listened to this ,prepped myself and i did well. i did not shiver too! thank you!! just believe you can,and you will.
That was a great way of opening a speech. Really caught my attention.
Glad to hear that!!

I wish I could say the same for myself
Ok
Last day i chickened out of giving presentation....i watched this video, flared with determination i prepared, ...and today too i chickened out at the last moment.
The Fairyletters youre not alone
It's okay, just prep more, and put yourself in front of a less intense situation if possible. If not, keep fighting... at least promise yourself to show up and go through with it
the way he presented a double personality in us, that is commendable! hopefully it will be helpfull for those who really feel scared when they have to just meet their eyes with audience on stage. I would say speech was motivational and full of energy
my trick: smile. have fun. and I say to myself: "knock it out of the park!" (baseball analogy)
hahaha
Btw, thanks for watching the video!
I I am always faces such type of anixety When I face audience .I think your video help me to give up my fear of public speaking
Today I had my seminar...but out of fear, I chickened out the last moment and bunked the class.
your 'responding back to self ' technique is amazing to kill fear of public speaking and gain confidence.kudos to you Animesh.A big thank you, this will certainly help some folks.
You're most welcome, Niraj!
This is very inspiring. I didn't face people, I could not talk with a stranger or in public for 2 min..But now I think I can push my self and can come out of my comfort zone..thank you for your speech
You're most welcome, Usha!
Thank you so much. Your practice demonstration is very much appreciated. You are a great man.
You're welcome! Hope it helps you! (Y)
I always regret🤧 not being able to stand in front of an audience.Even praying in a small group is a problem. I tend to minimize my voice as I continue to pray. My ego will be like what if you mispronounce a word, they will laugh at you. But I really want to overcome this💪
Really really changed my thinking process
Thanks from core of my heart
So glad to hear that! You're welcome
