I feel like he's a mix of Griffith and Sauron. As in, he's got the best parts of Pre-Eclipse Griffith, but he's also got Sauron's obsession with control and willingness to manipulate others in order to achieve his otherwise benevolent goals. The whole theme of "power corrupts" becomes even more prevalent if you consider what happens to Celebrimbor in Shadow of War continuity. Well, at least no one was raped (except maybe Radahn and/or Mohg, but I'm unsure on whether Miquella's interest in them qualified as sexual). Miyazaki mixed the best parts of Tolkien, Martins and Miura here, and I'm loving this. In the words of Bricky, "MIYAZAKI YOU HACK!" XD

Not necessarily. As we saw with Needle Knight Leda, she chose to follow him even after his charm was broken, as well as many of the denizens within the consecrated snowfield and the Haligtree. He very likely rizzed up Mohg and Malenia, though.

@aliceblackrose1438 I can't say for certain that his plans involve genocide, but it is very possible. Trina wants Miquella dead because she cares about him. She doesn't want Miquella to be a god because to do so would be a prison. Miquella wants to change the world, but he isn't letting anyone choose to follow him. He's forcing them to admire him. They don't get a choice. So that makes him just like his mother. A manipulative Empyrean who believes his thoughts and goals are the best thing for everyone. But judging from his actions, no one is safe. Our actions, while destructive, most likely are the best course of action. The world is already broken. It doesn't need another monarch making a mess of things. Miquella is completely delusional and Trina knows it. So she wants us to put an end to it.

@aliceblackrose1438 In a couple item descriptions, it says that Miquella saw a lord in Radahn because of his incredible strength and his kindness. So Miquella asked Radahn to be his consort. Problem is, we don't know if he ever agreed. We now know that the reason Malenia fought Radahn in the first place was so his body can be killed so he can meet with Miquella in the Realm of Shadows. But Radahn fought back against Malenia. So it's possible Radahn never agreed and was only manipulated by Miquella to join him. Miquella's ability is straight up brainwashing. And it works on literally everyone, even his father, Radagon. The Radahn we fight doesn't speak so much as a word. So it's possible that he didn't choose to fight us, he's just being controlled by Miquella. But then again, Miquella referred to Radahn regaining his soul as a vow, so it's quite possible Radahn really did choose to join Miquella.
There’s definitely dark implications for the other three, but Malenia? I don’t think so. There was a mutual love between them, as further shown in cut content. Plus she was loyal to him long after he was gone. There re plenty of people that sided with Miquella without needing to be under his influence because they believed in his goodness and his cause/
Pretty sure Malenia was in on his plan the whole time, even whispering “Miquella awaits thee, o promised consort.” right before she unleashes the Scarlet Rot on Radahn.

No, Radahn held the stars to stop the invasion of an alien race called the Astel. As for his relationship with Miquela, everything indicates that Radahn refused or managed to resist Miquela's convincing and adopted his own side of the war. But Miquela really loved Radahn, for him Radahn is a rare and valuable chess piece. So after we kill Radahn, he takes the opportunity to resurrect him on Mogh's corpse and at the same time control it with the enchantment of stealing hearts.

If we consider miquellas abilities and gideons dialogue regarding marikas sorrow and miquellas being part of it…. Did miquella actually steal even marikas heart? And used radagon to try and learn fundamentalist techniques for malenia even though he abandoned them? Crazy implications. Also makes you wonder what exactly he wants and even his counterpart st Trina wants you to kill him. And says what he’s doing is only imprisoning himself. It seems like he just got too deep helping others and he has an obsessive natural desire to help that even makes him turn radahn into a puppet after death. Maybe his “fate” was helping people more directly like saints do he didn’t need to be a god he just had to be him and travel the world using his abilities to help rather than ascending and probably losing his mind as most gods do. Unfortunate story for all gods huh.
I get the impression he genuinely wanted to help everyone by creating his Age of Compassion, but became so obsessed he became more and more ruthless and manipulative in how he went about it, sacrificing everything and everyone, including everything about himself that would hold him back. To the point even his other half Saint Trinna is like…he’s gotta die. If they had to make him Griffith, it’s an interesting take. Sacrificing everything for his dream, but a dream born of compassion, not selfishness. A monster born of good intentions.
Miquella may have felt subjected to the "cruelty" of the world. I mean hey, if you're born weak and cursed to STAY that way as a child in a world with big scary monsters and big powerful violent relatives, he may have been pretty frustrated at some point and developed a vendetta. Miquella is called wise, and kind. But also Miquella was incredibly smart and learned all sorts of magic. Everything this Miquella is, equips him to be a master manipulator. Absolutely NOTHING in the Lands Between would endear him towards truly loving unconditionally and selflessly as he appears to. In the argument of nature vs nurture, you can be born with certain attributes that make up your character. But so commonly, the environment you are raised in would dictate how you develop. Nobody ever remains the same, at least not internally. The same is true for Miquella. His curse of youth is a pretty perfect and poetic mask for what I just said. Everyone knows him to be harmless, gentle, kind, soft, and loving. But what kind of person holds up like that in such a world? Especially over such a long time, having literally no power over the cruelty and harshness of it all. Clearly Miquella has great ambition and willpower, to be able to learn so much magic. But the magic that he learned and even developed did not have a gentle nature at all, since quite literally he invented discs of light to cut people in half. Miquella is capable of much more than just kindness. So - in his ideal age of compassion, wouldn't it make sense for only the most elegant and kind and most lovable to be the top of the ladder? Miquella never had that before, and could never get to that point with how he was. Everything he is is a stark contrast to the Lands Between. So if he happened to succeed in creating the Age of Compassion, there would be literally no way to trump him, ever. He would be the absolute ultimate. I dunno - he just did a little too much manipulation for me to believe that he was really as nonthreatening and not so sinister as we first thought. But also there is so much poetic irony and rhyme that his character creates for the world of Elden Ring. It'd be too good of an opportunity and too original to make him that way.

Thats why to me the perfected golden order with no greater will and rannis ending are the best options. Ranni basically decided to be a more hands off god while you and her voyaged into the cosmos. Well so we think personally I think this 1000 year voyage miquella and ranni mention is the ascension period from empearyn to god. Miquella was a prodigy like morgott said himself. But yeah he just went about it in the wrong way and he wasn’t really fit to be the god he was claiming he wanted to be. In truth morgott was probably the best morally good god. Or godwyn who was nice to all even enemies. They never invaded other territories and just kept the integrity of leyendell. Morgott did seem a bit racist but he was truly kingly. But makes you wonder just how many of the demigods and gods did miquella have under his charm? And was Melina also charmed by him and used to do his bidding? A lot of questions but 1 thing is sure is that none of the gods were fit to truly rule that goes for fiction and real life.

Yeah but it's no secret that this could have been much better without pandering to fans asking for a prime Radahn fight. It didn't ruin the DLC or anything, but I was very disappointed getting this far just to see Radahn as the boss again instead of something actually interesting.

Technically, it would work regardless, as Miquella's whole thing is that he can block the influence of other gods. That's what the quest to get the Needle establishes in the base game, from the Ailing Village where you find the first clue, to the sewer descent where it's more explicitly mentioned. And a bit less relevant, in cut content, the song the merchants play, is the song of St. Trina, and playing it eases the pain of the Frenzied Flame on them.
@@DrnMontemayorMiquella's golden needle will work against the Frenzied Flame if you're in the early throes of it. If you are fully committed, it is confirmed it cannot be excised. If you're a Lord of Frenzied Flame, Miquella's golden needles are useless.

There is a way to dispel Miquella's mark. An item dropped by a boss within the Shadow Keep. Isn't it curious we haven't seen hide, nor hair of Miquella's own Great Rune?
So, based on what I'm reading and seeing, Miquella is basically like a mix of Celebrimbor & Sauron in Shadow of War: take over the world with kindness enhanced with mystical charisma and mind control. Well... at least it's no Eclipse of Midland. 🤷♂ But I love that Trina outright says that doing so would inevitably corrupt him. You can definitely see Tolkien and Martins' themes and Miyazaki's Beserk motifs mingling in this story, and that's awesome. Miquella clearly did all these "necessary evils" for the sake of his Age of Compassion with full intent of fixing them once he ascended, but the fact still remains that countless died as a result and that his utopia is still built on manipulation and coercion. There's a point where all "necessary evils" add up until they cancel out all the "greater good" one seeks to build. I haven't played the DLC yet, but I'm curious on what Radahn's own motivations were across this whole story. Did he make that "promise" to Miquella himself or Trina (assuming she has existed as long as Miquella has)? Was it all just to protect Ranni, or did he also have the same sentiment as Trina that godhood is a curse that would corrupt him and/or Miquella as well as Ranni? Or did he also feel that Miquella was becoming too radical in his methods? It's interesting that Ranni herself never comments on Miquella as far as I'm aware. Was she aware of ANY of this at all? That would certainly explain why her "Age of Stars" is her leaving the Lands Between rather actively ruling it. What was Marika's angle in all of this? Because, as pointed out before, Marika clearly had something to do with Ranni stealing the Rune of Death and Miquella seemed awfully well-prepared for the Shattering... Goddamnit Miyazaki, stop overloading our brains with all these theories and questions!!! 🤣
Miyazaki name dropped The Eternal Champion. In sunmary, the series is set in many different universes in a multiverse where a champion always rises up to save the day. Unfortunately, the tool he relies on untimately betrays him and corrupts him. Miyazaki is saying those who fight for power will ultimately be corrupted by it.
@@alq8879 Miyazaki must have created 10 or so characters in Soulsborne games so far that look like Griffith, so that's not really surprising. Vaati Vidya and other people were theorizing on that for a long time. Personally, the fact that Miquella "just" wants to brainwash people to make the world peaceful and compassionate rather than some twisted demonic mass sacrifice to make himself a dark god who sunders the world (something Shabriri, Godrick, Mohg or Rykard would probably do) is a mild relief. Still very condemnable, mind you, but if the choice came down to Assassin's Creed Templar Order versus the fucking Godhand or Warhammer's Chaos Gods, safe to say most people would pick the faction that ISN'T the embodiment of evil, war, pestilence and rape.
A four-armed person who causes lots of deaths and has an army of slaves vs. a four-armed person who causes lots of deaths and has an army of slaves. How about the Mending Rune of Perfect Order instead? Goldmask has the best chance of creating a world that has no system of corrupt, fickle gods, no curses, and full accountability for corrupt actions. That rune protects free will and actually heals the world too.
The gesture at the end is the same as when get ranni ending and she asks you to go with her. So... Miquella's going keep us as his sidepiece? Well I don't mind that.

It is kinda remarkable to me that our character is so steadfast in their conviction that a god has to put that much effort into turning us to their side. I mean it’s definitely for gameplay reasons, but it’s such a testament to our Tarnished who for all intents and purposes is just some guy

@@luxsuperbia1531 Freja's armour set description says she was one of Radahn's most trusted followers. After the charm is broken she still trusts Miquella with Radahn. The vow was mutual agreement between Miquella, Malenia and Radahn. The agreement was that Malenia would fight Radahn to satisfy his love for war and in exchange he'd be Miquella’s consort.
Miquella's charm would work the same as Marika's golden grace. Everyone not charmed by Miquella would be eliminated or exiled. Scary thought. He was literally copy/pasting his mom's textbook on how to rule.
There's no way Radahn was willing to honor his vow if Malenia had to rot nuke him to oblivion to get him to Miquella. Especially considering that Radahn STILL resisted the rot years after the fact.
He probably thought Radahn would eventually died from the rot, but turns out he just went insane. Malenia is desperate but obviously not careless enough to screwing Miquella’s plan by nuking Caelid
Miquella is the best option for the Lands Between. Formsoft characters are never 100% moral, nor innocent, nor perfect. But Miquella is the closest thing to a good ruler that has ever been offered to the Lands Between. His methods are the most reasonable compared to the wrath, hatred, prejudice, and blood lust of all other rulers. Including us, the tarnished, we are the bad guys in this war too, our path would destroy the Lands' only hope for lasting compassionate peace. Miquella's great rune charm is an overall positive power. The charm helps people let go of the evil within; if someone wanted revenge they can now settle for forgiveness, if someone was prejudice they can now tolerate others, and if someone had lust for blood shed they can now seek love. Miquella brought out the best version of each person, gave them love, and gave them hope. During our fight we had the power to resist Miquella's charm and so do many other characters like Messmer. There still is a choice to reject Miquella but 99% of people will be more attracted to what he offers than what they currently have, most people will agree with Miquella, because what he offers is valuable to them. Haters try to simply this process to simple brainwashing but it is not that crude nor sinister. Mohg wanted Miquella to bring the mother of blood dynasty, Miquella offered him something better. To assume that Mohg is innocent of kidnapping Miquella is a not necessarily. Two things can be true, at the same time, with these complex characters. Mohg was all about blood sacrifices so it's possible that he is ok with helping Miquella in this way, to be the vessel of Radahn's spirit, this is not a tragic end. Radahn was a proud and powerful warrior. By his standards he could not simply die, he had to die in glorious battle. Miquella tried to satisfy this honor by asking Malenia to go to war with Radahn, they were both too powerful for each other, so stalemate persisted until the tarnished rose. Miquella then sent Melina to persuade a tarnished to help in his plans. Most of the work had been done my Malenia and we come to finish off Radahn in honorable battle. Long ago Radahn promised to be lord and consort to Miquella. The reign of Miquella has all the good aspects of the Golden Order but with out the shunning of the graceless. Miquella extends grace and blessing to all in the Lands. Radahn would find it easy to support Miquella's Order because it is just a better version of the Golden Order. His loyalty would remain. consistent. Haters of Miquella will see these events in a sinister filter, this is unreasonable because there is a more honorable way to except what Miquella planned. Each one of these characters have good reasons to give Miquella a chance, the Charm helps but it's a positive help, not sinister. When Miquella divulged his love, it was specifically his love of self that died. He is still clearly able to love Radahn and showing compassion to an entire kingdom clearly communicates love. Saint Trina seeks to protect Miquella from the bondage of being a deity, that is self-love. Miquella had to let go of what was good for himself to obtain the power to serve everyone in his kingdom. Clearly he has sacrificed just as much as his flowers sacrificed to obtain compassion, leading by example.
Its scary to think this might've been what happened to Mohg. None of the thoughts of Miquella's supporters may be their own, who knows how far his charm has spread?

People need to stop assuming everyone is being controlled by Miquella. Most of the NPCs that followed him still remained loyal after the spell was undone, i think it's fair to say not everyone that follows Miquella does it unwillingly.
and to think that Radahn was the only one to resist Miquella's mind control, maybe that's why Miquella has an obsessive passion for him since he is immune to the power of mind control, something like falling in love with exactly the only person who doesn't Either way, or maybe he just fell for the charms of Radahn, who was always referred to as the most fair, honorable, etc., etc.

@@caixo5604 Nah, him casting side his love is what St. Trina is. Also, as far as I understand it, miquella's curse is in body and mind. Which makes this even more tragic ngl. He looked up to Radahn due to his strength and compassion, and probably just wanted him forever by his side, like how a lot of children probably look up to older siblings. Which means every action he does is pure. He probably is not lying about his age of compassion. The world would probably have less suffering in it under miquella's rule then any other ending we can get. (Besides frenzy flame because.. you burned everything). There's a good chance that not even he fully understands his power.
I wonder if Miquella was that twisted to begin with or if his plan became corrupt after he changed. The cross in the fissure does confirm that, at some point in his journey, he abandoned his love. Us killing Mohg was probably not expected, so it's not unreasonable to assume that using his body as a new vessel for Radahn was a late change of plans.
I don't think so. Miquella is still, as far as I understand it, a child both physically and mentally. His love for Radahn is probably similar to how a young child looks up to their older sibling. His attempts to make the world a better place are probably genuine, but he's still a child. He probably doesn't fully understand why his mother's order was so flawed, even though he clearly does not like it either. There's a good chance he doesn't even fully understand his power, like a kid with a gun, not fully understanding how powerful it is.

She doesn't want Miquella to be a god because to do so would be a prison. Miquella wants to change the world, but he isn't letting anyone choose to follow him. He's forcing them to admire him. They don't get a choice. So that makes him just like his mother. A manipulative Empyrean who believes his thoughts and goals are the best thing for everyone. But judging from his actions, no one is safe. Our actions, while destructive, most likely are the best course of action. The world is already broken. It doesn't need another monarch making a mess of things. Miquella is completely delusional and Trina knows it. So she wants us to put an end to it.

@aliceblackrose1438 In a couple item descriptions, it says that Miquella saw a lord in Radahn because of his incredible strength and his kindness. So Miquella asked Radahn to be his consort. Problem is, we don't know if he ever agreed. We now know that the reason Malenia fought Radahn in the first place was so his body can be killed so he can meet with Miquella in the Realm of Shadows. But Radahn fought back against Malenia. So it's possible Radahn never agreed and was only manipulated by Miquella to join him. Miquella's ability is straight up brainwashing. And it works on literally everyone, even his father, Radagon. The Radahn we fight doesn't speak so much as a word. So it's possible that he didn't choose to fight us, he's just being controlled by Miquella. But then again, Miquella referred to Radahn regaining his soul as a vow, so it's quite possible Radahn really did choose to join Miquella.

There’s definitely dark implications for the other three, but Malenia? I don’t think so. There was a mutual love between them, as further shown in cut content. Plus she was loyal to him long after he was gone. There re plenty of people that sided with Miquella without needing to be under his influence because they believed in his goodness and his cause/

As for his relationship with Miquela, everything indicates that Radahn refused or managed to resist Miquela's convincing and adopted his own side of the war. But Miquela really loved Radahn, for him Radahn is a rare and valuable chess piece. So after we kill Radahn, he takes the opportunity to resurrect him on Mogh's corpse and at the same time control it with the enchantment of stealing hearts.

If we consider miquellas abilities and gideons dialogue regarding marikas sorrow and miquellas being part of it…. Did miquella actually steal even marikas heart? And used radagon to try and learn fundamentalist techniques for malenia even though he abandoned them? Crazy implications. Also makes you wonder what exactly he wants and even his counterpart st Trina wants you to kill him. And says what he’s doing is only imprisoning himself. It seems like he just got too deep helping others and he has an obsessive natural desire to help that even makes him turn radahn into a puppet after death. Maybe his “fate” was helping people more directly like saints do he didn’t need to be a god he just had to be him and travel the world using his abilities to help rather than ascending and probably losing his mind as most gods do. Unfortunate story for all gods huh.
I get the impression he genuinely wanted to help everyone by creating his Age of Compassion, but became so obsessed he became more and more ruthless and manipulative in how he went about it, sacrificing everything and everyone, including everything about himself that would hold him back. To the point even his other half Saint Trinna is like…he’s gotta die. If they had to make him Griffith, it’s an interesting take. Sacrificing everything for his dream, but a dream born of compassion, not selfishness. A monster born of good intentions.
Miquella may have felt subjected to the "cruelty" of the world. I mean hey, if you're born weak and cursed to STAY that way as a child in a world with big scary monsters and big powerful violent relatives, he may have been pretty frustrated at some point and developed a vendetta. Miquella is called wise, and kind. But also Miquella was incredibly smart and learned all sorts of magic.
Everything this Miquella is, equips him to be a master manipulator. Absolutely NOTHING in the Lands Between would endear him towards truly loving unconditionally and selflessly as he appears to. In the argument of nature vs nurture, you can be born with certain attributes that make up your character. But so commonly, the environment you are raised in would dictate how you develop. Nobody ever remains the same, at least not internally. The same is true for Miquella. His curse of youth is a pretty perfect and poetic mask for what I just said. Everyone knows him to be harmless, gentle, kind, soft, and loving. But what kind of person holds up like that in such a world? Especially over such a long time, having literally no power over the cruelty and harshness of it all. Clearly Miquella has great ambition and willpower, to be able to learn so much magic. But the magic that he learned and even developed did not have a gentle nature at all, since quite literally he invented discs of light to cut people in half. Miquella is capable of much more than just kindness.
So - in his ideal age of compassion, wouldn't it make sense for only the most elegant and kind and most lovable to be the top of the ladder? Miquella never had that before, and could never get to that point with how he was. Everything he is is a stark contrast to the Lands Between. So if he happened to succeed in creating the Age of Compassion, there would be literally no way to trump him, ever. He would be the absolute ultimate.
I dunno - he just did a little too much manipulation for me to believe that he was really as nonthreatening and not so sinister as we first thought. But also there is so much poetic irony and rhyme that his character creates for the world of Elden Ring. It'd be too good of an opportunity and too original to make him that way.

Well so we think personally I think this 1000 year voyage miquella and ranni mention is the ascension period from empearyn to god. Miquella was a prodigy like morgott said himself. But yeah he just went about it in the wrong way and he wasn’t really fit to be the god he was claiming he wanted to be. In truth morgott was probably the best morally good god. Or godwyn who was nice to all even enemies. They never invaded other territories and just kept the integrity of leyendell. Morgott did seem a bit racist but he was truly kingly. But makes you wonder just how many of the demigods and gods did miquella have under his charm? And was Melina also charmed by him and used to do his bidding? A lot of questions but 1 thing is sure is that none of the gods were fit to truly rule that goes for fiction and real life.

Yeah but it's no secret that this could have been much better without pandering to fans asking for a prime Radahn fight. It didn't ruin the DLC or anything, but I was very disappointed getting this far just to see Radahn as the boss again instead of something actually interesting.

Technically, it would work regardless, as Miquella's whole thing is that he can block the influence of other gods. That's what the quest to get the Needle establishes in the base game, from the Ailing Village where you find the first clue, to the sewer descent where it's more explicitly mentioned.
And a bit less relevant, in cut content, the song the merchants play, is the song of St. Trina, and playing it eases the pain of the Frenzied Flame on them.

So, based on what I'm reading and seeing, Miquella is basically like a mix of Celebrimbor & Sauron in Shadow of War: take over the world with kindness enhanced with mystical charisma and mind control.

But I love that Trina outright says that doing so would inevitably corrupt him. You can definitely see Tolkien and Martins' themes and Miyazaki's Beserk motifs mingling in this story, and that's awesome. Miquella clearly did all these "necessary evils" for the sake of his Age of Compassion with full intent of fixing them once he ascended, but the fact still remains that countless died as a result and that his utopia is still built on manipulation and coercion. There's a point where all "necessary evils" add up until they cancel out all the "greater good" one seeks to build.
I haven't played the DLC yet, but I'm curious on what Radahn's own motivations were across this whole story. Did he make that "promise" to Miquella himself or Trina (assuming she has existed as long as Miquella has)? Was it all just to protect Ranni, or did he also have the same sentiment as Trina that godhood is a curse that would corrupt him and/or Miquella as well as Ranni? Or did he also feel that Miquella was becoming too radical in his methods? It's interesting that Ranni herself never comments on Miquella as far as I'm aware. Was she aware of ANY of this at all? That would certainly explain why her "Age of Stars" is her leaving the Lands Between rather actively ruling it. What was Marika's angle in all of this? Because, as pointed out before, Marika clearly had something to do with Ranni stealing the Rune of Death and Miquella seemed awfully well-prepared for the Shattering...

Much of the inspiration of the lore is from Berserk the manga/anime series. Miquella draws many parallels to Griffith, and his charm.
Miyazaki name dropped The Eternal Champion. In sunmary, the series is set in many different universes in a multiverse where a champion always rises up to save the day. Unfortunately, the tool he relies on untimately betrays him and corrupts him. Miyazaki is saying those who fight for power will ultimately be corrupted by it.

Miyazaki must have created 10 or so characters in Soulsborne games so far that look like Griffith, so that's not really surprising. Vaati Vidya and other people were theorizing on that for a long time.
Personally, the fact that Miquella "just" wants to brainwash people to make the world peaceful and compassionate rather than some twisted demonic mass sacrifice to make himself a dark god who sunders the world (something Shabriri, Godrick, Mohg or Rykard would probably do) is a mild relief. Still very condemnable, mind you, but if the choice came down to Assassin's Creed Templar Order versus the fucking Godhand or Warhammer's Chaos Gods, safe to say most people would pick the faction that ISN'T the embodiment of evil, war, pestilence and rape.

It is kinda remarkable to me that our character is so steadfast in their conviction that a god has to put that much effort into turning us to their side. I mean it’s definitely for gameplay reasons, but it’s such a testament to our Tarnished who for all intents and purposes is just some guy

The vow was mutual agreement between Miquella, Malenia and Radahn. The agreement was that Malenia would fight Radahn to satisfy his love for war and in exchange he'd be Miquella’s consort.

Miquella is the best option for the Lands Between. Formsoft characters are never 100% moral, nor innocent, nor perfect. But Miquella is the closest thing to a good ruler that has ever been offered to the Lands Between. His methods are the most reasonable compared to the wrath, hatred, prejudice, and blood lust of all other rulers. Including us, the tarnished, we are the bad guys in this war too, our path would destroy the Lands' only hope for lasting compassionate peace.
Miquella's great rune charm is an overall positive power. The charm helps people let go of the evil within; if someone wanted revenge they can now settle for forgiveness, if someone was prejudice they can now tolerate others, and if someone had lust for blood shed they can now seek love. Miquella brought out the best version of each person, gave them love, and gave them hope.
During our fight we had the power to resist Miquella's charm and so do many other characters like Messmer. There still is a choice to reject Miquella but 99% of people will be more attracted to what he offers than what they currently have, most people will agree with Miquella, because what he offers is valuable to them. Haters try to simply this process to simple brainwashing but it is not that crude nor sinister.
Mohg wanted Miquella to bring the mother of blood dynasty, Miquella offered him something better. To assume that Mohg is innocent of kidnapping Miquella is a not necessarily. Two things can be true, at the same time, with these complex characters. Mohg was all about blood sacrifices so it's possible that he is ok with helping Miquella in this way, to be the vessel of Radahn's spirit, this is not a tragic end.
Radahn was a proud and powerful warrior. By his standards he could not simply die, he had to die in glorious battle. Miquella tried to satisfy this honor by asking Malenia to go to war with Radahn, they were both too powerful for each other, so stalemate persisted until the tarnished rose.
Miquella then sent Melina to persuade a tarnished to help in his plans. Most of the work had been done my Malenia and we come to finish off Radahn in honorable battle.
Long ago Radahn promised to be lord and consort to Miquella. The reign of Miquella has all the good aspects of the Golden Order but with out the shunning of the graceless. His loyalty would remain. consistent.
Haters of Miquella will see these events in a sinister filter, this is unreasonable because there is a more honorable way to except what Miquella planned. Each one of these characters have good reasons to give Miquella a chance, the Charm helps but it's a positive help, not sinister.
When Miquella divulged his love, it was specifically his love of self that died. He is still clearly able to love Radahn and showing compassion to an entire kingdom clearly communicates love. Saint Trina seeks to protect Miquella from the bondage of being a deity, that is self-love. Miquella had to let go of what was good for himself to obtain the power to serve everyone in his kingdom. Clearly he has sacrificed just as much as his flowers sacrificed to obtain compassion, leading by example.
Its scary to think this might've been what happened to Mohg. None of the thoughts of Miquella's supporters may be their own, who knows how far his charm has spread?

Also, as far as I understand it, miquella's curse is in body and mind. Which makes this even more tragic ngl. He looked up to Radahn due to his strength and compassion, and probably just wanted him forever by his side, like how a lot of children probably look up to older siblings.
Which means every action he does is pure. He probably is not lying about his age of compassion. The world would probably have less suffering in it under miquella's rule then any other ending we can get. (Besides frenzy flame because.. you burned everything). There's a good chance that not even he fully understands his power.

I wonder if Miquella was that twisted to begin with or if his plan became corrupt after he changed. The cross in the fissure does confirm that, at some point in his journey, he abandoned his love. Us killing Mohg was probably not expected, so it's not unreasonable to assume that using his body as a new vessel for Radahn was a late change of plans.
I don't think so. Miquella is still, as far as I understand it, a child both physically and mentally. His love for Radahn is probably similar to how a young child looks up to their older sibling. His attempts to make the world a better place are probably genuine, but he's still a child. He probably doesn't fully understand why his mother's order was so flawed, even though he clearly does not like it either.
There's a good chance he doesn't even fully understand his power, like a kid with a gun, not fully understanding how powerful it is.
