I like the details the people shared in real life situations. Thinking about how the seats will effect the surround speakers experience is a nuance many don't think about
Heres 3 problems i had with my seat. 1: I like to LAY DOWN ACROSS & nap 2: i immediately grew tired of slowly getting up & back down when going to fridge or piss 3: reclining involved movie watching which i wasnt doing 24/7.
I have a tuscany with the tall backrest also. Sure would be nice if they would make a shorter one in the future, so owners can just swap out the backrest for a shorter one, rather than buying a whole new chair. Awesome video btw!!
Most of them probably have way too tall head rests. Enough so that they interfere with the sound coming from the back. But I'd enjoy a lower back one that doesn't compromise the actual theater experience. When it comes to looks, they're not pretty. Arguably, pretty is a secondary consideration in a dedicated theater room, if not pretty gets you awesome comfort and performance. So yeah... in a dedicated theater room, I'd love to try the variant with the convertible back. In my living room, that's a hard no, and I watch in my living room. I bought a good sectional with decent ergonomics and it's great, while also looking good.
I have 3 of the Tuscanys. I have an XL in the center and a regular. Strangely, they don't look as different as I expected they might. You would not notice they don't quite match, unless you're looking for it. The XL has a high enough back for me. The 2 regulars are a little short and would be less comfortable after awhile, but should work well for any guests. Even the XL is a bit less comfortable than I expected, though. I upgraded from a set of 3 15-year old lower back theater seats from Costco. I really wanted the headrest, as well as chairs that didn't slide apart, since those didn't lock together and still had the shared arm design. The high back of the Tuscany really does interfere with the rear surrounds, a lot. I've tried adjusting them to have a higher volume and even repositioning, in hope of getting the sound to come in between the seats, but it hasn't overcome the issue. Beyond that, the controls are badly located, as the gentleman said, the backlighting of the control panel is a bit distracting, since you can't turn them off, the leg rest and back rest can't be operated independently, and the leg rest is uncomfortably straight, when fully extended. And, it would be really great if the lumbar support were about 4 inches lower.
I’ve had the Oslo couch for two years. Critic: when raising and lower the recliner, the friction of the leather rubbing is noisy. Fixable with wax, but must be repeated. Like: comfortable, good adjustment controls. Using for an everyday living room couch is not the best due to the side bolsters on each chair. Can’t lay down comfortably. But overall it’s good.
The first 30 seconds of the video repeats. I appreciate posting videos that have honest comments about the products. I was afraid it would all just come off as an advertisement, but there was some constructive feedback given. Thanks for sharing!
The reason for the "repeat" is to show the highlight of the video up front. In the past, I would "save the best for last" but with more people watching short form content that has reduced our attention span, if you don't put something up front that captures the attention, people will stop watching. I wanted attendees to provide honest feedback (good or bad). That's how I do all of my reviews.
I thought the Valencia seats were super comfy. I really liked the low back one on the end. It could allow the rear surrounds to get to your ears better as said. I did have a bit of problem with the small buttons on the Valencia’s.
Thank you for the kind words. I agree, the friendships are what make MWAVE so special to me. We look forward to seeing you again next year at MWAVE 2024.
Great video youthman (as always). I have valencia piancenzia with loveseat in my amazon cart. Only thing stopping me from purchase is how well they hold up over the years. If they'll be in poor shape in 5 years, I'd rather just buy cheap and replace every few years. Edit: i do well taking care of things i buy and anyone invited to my house usually doesn't get another invite if they don't follow suit.
I have the regular (not the ultimate) Valencia seats and we’ve pretty much disliked to hated them since we got them and still feel the same. They are very hard and never broke in. Maybe in five years they will be soft enough to enjoy. My advice, stay away from buying seating online and get a something you can sit on in a store.
We had two seating brands at MWAVE (Valencia and RowOne). We are doing our part to get them into the hands of consumers so they can decide for themselves what they like.
@@Youthman I do like that people can test them out there. But there unfortunately is no where near me to have tried them. Valencia really should start working with different stores so people can not only try them, but they may sell more units for people that enjoy them. Lesson learned on my part though.
I hope to see Valencia seats at MWAVE again next year. They're expensive but I use mine every day so that helps justify the cost. They really complete the look of a home theater.
I bought a set of Valencia seats. 1.5 years after purchasing them both control panels failed. I had to pay $120 for each seat to replace them. After searching the internet there were multiple postings on the home theater sites citing the same issue. It is a well known problem. This should be covered by the manufacturer. Do your research before buying or purchase the 5 year warranty.
Hi Ben, those photos were of Rusty's room (the first guy in the video wearing the hat that said he bought one last year at MWAVE and came home and purchased 3 more for his room).
@@Youthman Yes sir! Most seats have the cushion under the leather, however it's not full in all the areas of comfort...The Valencia to me captured areas of comfort especially under the knees where the legs extend.
@@Youthman Sorry about! Still Jet lagged...I have to take another trip to Georgia after getting back to Hawaii...One twins will have pre op next, followed by surgery the week after... Take care!
I found the Barcelona to be the most comfortable and really liked the low headrest option. However it has no storage option which is a bummer. As much width the arms have, they could easily build them in. Rowone that was in the Perlisten room had a great option for storage on a similar design when the drawers pulled out from the front. The barcelona also takes up a tad too much floor space. I do not know why the arms are that wide. They can shave off a few inches from that chair. I found the Barcelona to be more comfortable than the Rowone similar chair and the leather felt better on the Barcelona than Rowone. What was missing from Rowone was options for adding accessories like a table or tablet holder. So each chair had its short comings but the design is a great one. Hope both can address the things they are missing
First guy nails it "non functional tray and drink combo , controls can knock out the charging device and amazingly the headrest blocks out the rear channels"... Who the F*** designed this and why is it called a cinema seat 🤔 doesn't look like any cinema seat I've seen...take a leather recliner and add a cup holder, double the price and Voila... 🤔🤣🤣🤣
Wow love the trigger that @Youthman got for someone stating how they feel. We all have different bodies and taste. So love hearing what everyone feels about it.
Every review of Valencia has been sent to you guys and every review I've seen. It's as if nobody buys these things. After a while things start to sound suspect.
Yes they send seats to reviewers to review. Not sure what is suspect about that. Just because they send it doesn’t mean it means we will like it. I had no problem sharing what I like and dislike about any brand, including the new Valencia Monzas that I recently reviewed - th-cam.com/video/wUwbCc54sJE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eDjBdzBcLEnAeSXZ
I have 3 Tuscany & lots of issues. Wish I never bought it. Lumbar is terrible. Very uncomfortable. Basically a wood bar. Had to remove it. Recliner motor failed. They use cheap stuffing for the back support. Entirely sagged in now. Control panel burnt out so LED/USB stopped working. They don't use real nappa leather everywhere. Sides of the arm rest is fake PU leather. After a few years it started cracking/flaking off.
They are so large and for my tastes absolutely ugly. Also the headrests are too tall for music or theatre listening. Admittedly i haven't seen a well designed seat yet, but these seem to be getting good reviews because they have been getting them out to people. (for free) I will continue to look for one i like, most likely from an Italian or French furniture designer, with a 1950's modernest approach.

Yes, we had them for demo during the tactile transducer comparison
