Apparently Nappa Leather is only used on the "Touchable surfaces of the chair." The rest the chair leather is similarly colored Faux Leather which most Faux leather is prone to Delamination and Peeling if ever a hole forms and moisture penetrates the layers. So be careful with having sharp or pointy things in, on, around your clothing when using these chairs. Speaking to a sales rep, it seems the inner arms are not considered "Touchable Surfaces." I could see some stray keys easily ruining this purchase. Like James says in the video the Faux leather is definitely used to save cost. They do offer warranties that cover these repairs, however it comes at a price. Just a heads up/before you buy for those interested where these details matter. Oh also the Weight limit is 300lbs.

The head rest adjustment isn't as good as this chair though. It goes up and forward instead of just forward, so it really only works if you are 6ft or taller. My car has leather but it has ventilated seats for the front driver and passenger seat. It’s almost a requirement if you get black leather as it can take the seats from like too hot to sit on to comfortable within like 10-15 seconds of turning it on. And then after 30-45 seconds it actually gets cold enough to feel the cold on ur bum and back. They should make some high end leather chairs with built in cooling. I’m sure they already exist lol, but I just use a super cheap office chair thats like 7 years old as my computer chair. Never had any comfort issues with it so I’m not gonna spend hundreds of bucks on a chair.

Ain't bad, good color choice. Also, not terribly overpriced. Given its actual target demographic and audience. I would even go to say it's about middle of the road in price. Wouldn't spend less than $1000 on a theatre chair and it would have to have the same reclining features as that chair. I think the ones I have in my living room might have been near $1000 from Ashley's more expensive collection. Does all of those reclining modes and zones without the LEDS and cup holders. Has the lumbar and headrest adjustment as well. And when you retract the footrest, it retracts/resets everything, which can be annoying at times.

    These have a design flaw.
They're rated for 136kg but if you're approaching that weight, the bottom seat compresses so much that your back falls well below the support of the backrest, there is a significant gap between them and it is quite uncomfortable, lumbar is also quite aggressive even on the minimum setting.

The fake carbon fiber table will likely break the first time some one forgets it's there when they go to get up like mine did. Sad to see in 15 years all they've added is lumbar support and blue LED's.. also the friction fits are terrible, Mine was the love seat center(no arms) with two single seats each side. had to move the side chairs after every use because they would slide back anytime some one sat in them.

The Leather is what is called top grain, which means it's had the outside part of the Leather removed. Full grain Leather would be top tier leather, and "Genuine leather" is leftovers that are glued together to make a leather skin. So chances are from my understanding that this would be a chrome tanned 2nd tier leather so that you don't see the defects that are often highly prized because you know that it's a high-end leather product. Take from that what you will.

    • @joer8854
      @joer8854 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ValenciaTheaterSeating I was just pointing out what the different terms mean. "Genuine Leather" wouldn't be honest. There are varying reasons why you would want full grain vs top grain vs suede etc. Top grain is usually used to get a quality product, but remove the natural defects in the Leather. If a customer would want top grain vs full grain is more of a personal choice but people should avoid products that say "Genuine Leather" and don't specify top or full grain.

So just cause I'm a leather worker and it's a peeve of mine.
From their site "premium top grain leather"
Typical leather is composed of a beef hide with the grain and flesh in one piece. The grain being the actual putter side of the skin, and flesh composed of the inner layers. When you buy veg tan this is what you get.
Top grain means they split off the flesh from the grain. Then depending on the flesh added binders for strength and refinished the leather.
Ie it isn't "genuine or even likely a few hides of leather, but dozens."
Again it's a bit of a peeve of mine with manufacturers "leather" claims

  • @ThatSoddingGamer

Looks tempting, but am I stupid, or is there no way to order just one chair at the moment? Default is 2, and no visible option to select just one chair. Mind, at $2000 US 'on sale' it's quite a lot, and for just two, so getting a single one will probably be something like $1200 US.
They do show at the bottom of the main page which shows the dimensions for the various sets of the product that buying just one is supposed to be an option.
It was mentioned in the comments that they seemed to have updated the SKUs with new electronics, so maybe that's related to the reason why they don't have single units available, at least for the moment.
As I said, I'd be tempted to get one of these, but I can't see myself spending more than $1000 CDN or so, with maybe a bit more including shipping. Shame. My current (manual) recliner that I use for my computer (yes, super ergonomic har har), which works well for watching videos and controller based gaming, is losing a lot of its backside support after years of use. Really could do with a replacement.
