This was my favorite storyline in the entire Clone Wars series. Because it is very much an Adam & Eve type story and a great story on Anakin trying to overcome his guilt.
Anyone else notice this The 3 beings die in order and it happens the same way in the films Daughter (Light Side) Dies- Order 66, Jedi Dies Son Dies (Dark Side)- Palpatine and Sith Order Dies Father Dying (The Balance)- Anakin, The Chosen One, Dies Although now with TROS looks like that was thrown out the window lol
Interestingly enough this is how things went on for the rest of Anakins life First The Sister died (he purged the jedi's) Then The Father died (The last remaining jedi's were hunted down and dark side grew more and more powerfull) Then The Son died (Anakin killed himself and sidius)
I think Abeloth; the Mother is the coolest ... she's the most interesting of the Ones in my honest opinion. She's also the reason why the region of space known as the Maw exists if I remember correctly.
@Plo Koon You say the force is genderless but, yet there are 2 males and 1 female. *The father, The son and The daughter* , also you say the force chose which means it is Sentience. Lastly I agree with you on the last part, her campaign was shit
Quote from Star Wars - The Clone Wars: (The Overlord Of Darkness disguised as Shmi Skywalker's ghost) ''Your guilt does not define you my son, you define your guilt.'' We each begin in innocence and we all become guilty. Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do. There are two kinds of guilt: the kind that drowns you until you’re useless, and the kind that fires your soul to purpose.
@Paradoxical Nightmare They should have one of the three mention her or leave some kind of clue she existed. Nothing that noticeable but enough to bring it to our attention.
The ahsoka series finale just changed the game. I’m so hootin’ excited !! The father came from another galaxy…perhaps there was a MOTHER he and his family fled from due to the mothers power and corruption….which explains the night sisters and mother’s existence….hmmmm
I have long been of the opinion that the Force overall, encompassing *all* life, not just beings like the Jedi and Sith, tends to default to Balance. But the actions of beings who can wield the Force, such as the Daughter and Son, Jedi and Sith, can create imbalance. This is because they tend to focus on *personal* ideals and goals which their powers enable them to then impose on everyone else. The respective codes of the Jedi and Sith are nothing more than the *beliefs* of adherents of those traditions, rather than being actual expressions of how the Force is supposed to work.
I'm curious if you'll be covering Abeloth? She is very connected to The Ones and frankly her and her lore are kind of left on a cliffhanger being she's supposed to be arguably God-like in her power.
yes it seems like she would be unbalance I guess. The Father = Balance , The Daughter = the ligt side, The Mother (Abeloth) = Unbalance and The Son = The dark side. I see a system here everything has to have a counterpart
I'm a girl and I still don't agree with that crap. The Force is genderless. I can't stand the sequel trilogy either. I don't want female characters, I want good characters. If those *good* characters happen to be female, fine. The new trilogy is sadly lacking in good characters.
Philip Sowers, Rey wants to be a Jedi, but is struggling to the Dark Side, while Kylo is a Sith, but is struggling to the Light Side, so it would make more sense if the Daughter was influencing Kylo
I feel like when ren & kylo talk to each other thru the force is the other realm that he is talking about the father is in. & palpastine want to open that up more to get to that realm. Hence the "your coming together is your falling apart comment "
I feel like the Ones could easily be seen as a metaphor for the entire Skywalker saga, or even the entire history of Star Wars itself. There’s several hints to the idea, even including a shrouded mention of Luke, “There is always Hope!” There was balance, there was war between them, but eventually light, dark AND balance cease to be. This is just another way of saying there is balance. Even a scale without anything present is balanced.
I love the fact that the story of their family is pretty much like a metaphor of Anakin's life. Light and Dark hunt each other, until Light gets the upper hand on Balance and chases Dark. Through remorse, Dark murders Light and throws the world into darkness, but when faced with the death of another loved person, the Chosen One suddenly ends Dark, Balance dies and a new one emerges. This is why I fear TRoS might take a huge dump in this beautiful story if Rey kills Palpatine. Anakin is the Chosen One.
I very much enjoyed when ezra and gang found the painting. That was such a cool tie in. I feel like the father being the embodiment or physical manifestation of the force, wherein he went back to be one with the force.
Fingolfinator which makes me more mad that she’s not “officially” canon. For real though, her FAMILY is canon, the DAGGER used to seal her is canon, and the MAW is canon but she isn’t, because she isn’t even mentioned in any of the Disney canon.
@@jpawlus33458 she is neither legends nor canon. Just like most of the old canon. It's not officially canon, but isnt "untrue" either. Ex. There is no canon records of the galaxy prior to 90bby. SURELY, something must have happened before then. And seeing the events that affected the current canon, it's likely most "legends" are still technically true. Just not anything that interferes with what Disney changes in their canon.
but...she is part of legends. She is mentioned outside of her original story. Granted not much, like barely any, but there are mentions to her outside of fate of the jedi thus cementing her in legends versus just something from before that got retconned. Not to mention, she isnt even that old, fate of the jedi was 2009. That's after the prequels. She is a part of the EU. Since clone wars was originally made with legends in mind, this whole story arc was made with abeloth as a thing in mind. The fact that we have the dagger at all goes to show they were thinking of abeloth. Just because we don't know if things are canon in current disney canon doesn't mean it isn't legends canon. It isnt one of the other, we have sith hounds in disney canon now but that doesn't mean they aren't still a part of legends for example. Everything not a part of disney canon is legends. Whether they incorporate it into canon is unknown, and so all of that could become canon later, but that wont change that the original versions of them are still legends. Only way something isn't legends is if they come out and say it isn't.
What so many people seem to forget is that the idea behind mortis and the family came from Legends material specifically the novel. "apocalypse". Where abeloth was the mother I believe it was of the family of mortis... and she was the Ultimate Enemy of the ongoing Star Wars stories told right before Disney rebooted the cannon!!! I love that these Concepts survived the Disney Purge!!! I'm a huge fan of all things Legends and New Canon, of course not all the stories I've read or listen to or watched on a show have been good, some have been really lousy written or the stories just were not aimed at me and so I didn't give it much thought, I really hope to see more of these Concepts in future Cannon material
Actually Clone Wars and Mortis and the Mortis Trio came first. The Apocalypse novel then used those concepts and added Abeloth to it. The Darth Plagueis novel also referenced Mortis and the Ones later aswell.
Ahh see... I did not follow the Clone Wars that closely and forgot that that's where they were introduced on screen... I had thought apocalypse came out a year or two before that but I stand corrected thank you

If i ever become a writer for star wars, i want the father to be one of the first humans within the galaxy that arrived in this galaxy, and the force decided him to become and first je’daii and to bring balance. And that his mission will be immortal, so he reincarnates. He has many various “children” through the galaxy not only representing the basic light and dark. That he “dies” only because pf the failure of his mission, and he shall come again, as he has done in the beginning of time.
I don’t understand how him seeing the whole future wouldn’t immediately make him turn to the light for good, or at least not trust palpatine. He could have gone on saving Padme, killing sidious, just being a good dood
It's better if Disney did not mess up the Force's origin, the deeper stories don't make sense and proven that Star Wars is a science fantasy instead of science fiction.
I wonder when anakin died, did he take father's place to keep balance. As that place is the beginning, middle and end. This could save star wars as anakin reminds the choosen one. Just a theory, love Dave

The whole balance in the force thing always bugged me. Particularly from the Jedi point of view. Every time one of them goes on about balance I can't help but roll my eyes. Being that they put so much effort into avoiding the dark side. You can't balance a scale by placing weights on only one side.

Wow that really makes sense of it all as i was confused as to why the chosen failed but your perspective shows he didnt fail but actually brang a balance, great analysis dude your awesome! :)
...I think that's what George Lucas had in mind - but business / Disney (a.k.a. "the dark side") compromised the whole franchise.
Most of us regularly confuse balance with peace or light - but these are just one side of the coin. Balance means "nothing".

This was my favorite storyline in the entire Clone Wars series. Because it is very much an Adam & Eve type story and a great story on Anakin trying to overcome his guilt.
Me too. Really added some type of “mythical” element to Star Wars. Loved it

Anyone else notice this
The 3 beings die in order and it happens the same way in the films
Daughter (Light Side) Dies- Order 66, Jedi Dies
Son Dies (Dark Side)- Palpatine and Sith Order Dies
Father Dying (The Balance)- Anakin, The Chosen One, Dies
Although now with TROS looks like that was thrown out the window lol
Yeah, but Daughter is alive in Rebels with Ahsoka, so it was thrown anyway

I think Abeloth; the Mother is the coolest ... she's the most interesting of the Ones in my honest opinion. She's also the reason why the region of space known as the Maw exists if I remember correctly.

Quote from Star Wars - The Clone Wars:
(The Overlord Of Darkness disguised as Shmi Skywalker's ghost)
''Your guilt does not define you my son, you define your guilt.''
We each begin in innocence and we all become guilty. Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do. There are two kinds of guilt: the kind that drowns you until you’re useless, and the kind that fires your soul to purpose.
Honestly the best Star Wars content came from this show. Like legit so much depth we don’t get really anywhere else

Haha, I like the optimism of this dude thinking the new trilogy gave a fuck about Star Wars lore.
WHAT IF: Anikin keep his memories instead of losing them
This would be sick!
Shit, yeah!
Maybe as a force ghost he got the memories back and I think luke knows that anakin met the father once
Star wars is so which with lore, glad these are getting the respect they deserve though!
*Video Ideas:*
1. A video about the Mother, Abeloth.
2. A video about the Daughter.
Kennedy's shirt "the force is female" is not cannon.
I'm a girl and I still don't agree with that crap. The Force is genderless.
I can't stand the sequel trilogy either. I don't want female characters, I want good characters. If those *good* characters happen to be female, fine. The new trilogy is sadly lacking in good characters.
I wonder if Rey is the embodiment of the Sister of the Light that brings balance?
Philip Sowers, Rey wants to be a Jedi, but is struggling to the Dark Side, while Kylo is a Sith, but is struggling to the Light Side, so it would make more sense if the Daughter was influencing Kylo
The Mortis Arc and the related episodes in Rebels are simply the best of both shows. I love the mythology of the force.
There’s several hints to the idea, even including a shrouded mention of Luke, “There is always Hope!”
There was balance, there was war between them, but eventually light, dark AND balance cease to be. This is just another way of saying there is balance. Even a scale without anything present is balanced.
Notification: 'Star Wars Theory: The Father: Pure Embodiment of the Force (CANON)'
Me: Yeah? Good.
For the embodiment of the force, the three of them went down easy
I love the fact that the story of their family is pretty much like a metaphor of Anakin's life. Light and Dark hunt each other, until Light gets the upper hand on Balance and chases Dark. Through remorse, Dark murders Light and throws the world into darkness, but when faced with the death of another loved person, the Chosen One suddenly ends Dark, Balance dies and a new one emerges. This is why I fear TRoS might take a huge dump in this beautiful story if Rey kills Palpatine. Anakin is the Chosen One.

This video didn't add anything new from the video about the Son, could've just made 1 video about all 3 of them.
This is the kind of lore I would love Fallen Order to deal with!
I very much enjoyed when ezra and gang found the painting. That was such a cool tie in. I feel like the father being the embodiment or physical manifestation of the force, wherein he went back to be one with the force.
Please tell me you are doing one for "The Mother".
xD
I love the Mother. Specifically because of this tie-in with this story arc!
The Mother is in the kitchen making sandwiches while her husband and kids larp.
but...she is part of legends.

Fair point but it's better than mitochlorions.
@@wallybonejengles5595 lol. I'm definitely no expert so maybe I'm totally wrong, but the way I understand it I think people tend to be wrong about the whole midichlorian fiasco.
I was a kid when ep. 1 came out but my understanding at the time was that midichlorians (is that the right spelling? Pretty sure its midi-something.) weren't responsible for peoples' force powers, but I think what they were *actually* trying to say is that midi-whatchyamajigs are just *attracted* to the force and that's why they can measure their levels to tell how strong they are or whatever. Such a good episode. It's crazy how Anakin saw what he was to become. He was so torn by it. I wish he could of kept that vision so he'd know what not to do.
I think if Anakin was just another one good character, with no drama, StarWars won't be so memorable

The whole balance in the force thing always bugged me. Particularly from the Jedi point of view. Every time one of them goes on about balance I can't help but roll my eyes. Being that they put so much effort into avoiding the dark side. You can't balance a scale by placing weights on only one side.
