Thanks for doing this. It is important to acknowledge the patches and how they can fix an initial launch. The patches for The Outer Worlds on Switch were really transformative.
I was going to avoid this port based on the first reviews I saw then spotted a comment about a patch, hunted for a more recent review and found yours here. Quality review and you've made a difference, so thanks for that, much appreciated.
I played this back on Wii U originally and I traded it in back in the day. I really enjoyed ACIII & I’ve seen it go on sale on Switch a lot. I might pick this up to play it again! Thanks for this because I was worried with those launch reviews!
Thanks for the review of the patched version, it definitely looks a lot better then what it was upon release. I will definitely pick this up for my Switch when it goes on sale again.
Thanks for the review. Saw it on sale and wanted a review before I bought it. I'm glad I clicked on yours, the others I watched convinced me not to because of the performance issues. Since it's fixed I bought it. Thanks for putting out an updated review, helped me out a lot
Thank you I was looking on TH-cam to see reviews because I probably gonna download it from switch eshop. Then I saw all those negative reviews and thought, no thank you. Now because it's 63% off I was gonna look to few more reviews and then I found yours. Had no idea it got updates to patch those problems. So I thank you that I won't miss out on a great (old yet never played) game. I haven't played any assassins creed game yet 😳 but this is about to change thanks to you

Definitely see myself playing through all of it once again but on switch.👏🏼👏🏼
I bought this a month ago, so i never saw how it looked or ran before, but at the actual state i can say i'm pretty satisfied about the game. AC III runs almost always at 30-27 fps (depending on area) and it looks beautiful with full 720p in handled. On the other hand, unfortunately, i cannot say the same about AC Liberation. With Liberation i got so many crashes and so many fps drops (even huge) mostly swamp area and even though i managed to end it, it wasn't a pleasant experience all the time

You never did the Altair check cuz for some reason the outfit is still the original even tho it was supposed to change but the switch didn’t get the Altair update
Still has issues. You can’t restock resources when you hit a certain point in the game. You can try to restock iron ore and it won’t go back to a full inventory
Is it me or are there problems with the PS4 versions of the AC games. For AC 3 I've noticed some oddities. For example, the opera house in the beginning, the box seats are dark where on the switch they are lit. Just small stuff like that. In the Ezio collection, Ezio will sometimes not wear the enemies clothing and the mission will play with his assassin's robes which was wierd but it doesnt happen on the switch.

I really appreciate your help!! have you tried/played Age of Calamity with its patches?? It's a game I also want to play, but after playing the demo, I didn't even try to buy it
Yo I have a question since it appears on my copy of AC3 on the switch but fore the animal spirit Costume does the hidden blade bracers appear? For me they don't so I wanna know if this is an issue with just my game or if it's wide spread
That's really wild...I just got off my switch playing this game...im halfway through...#LoveTheGame...the shipsailing is the iish...#CantComplain #SolidVideo #iSubscribed #KeepGrinding
Yes sir, this is a fantastic game and the shipsailing it part of what made this game so epic! I'd also recommend checking out AC4 black flag on the Switch. And I also have a review for that title if you'd like me to link you to it.
I picked up a new copy recently, killer graphics and gameplay. I give a five***** rating. Gamers hating this sequel, are constantly comparing this game to the rebel collection.
Short answer is yes. In some ways, better because Black Flag runs at 900p during certain parts of the game. AC3 stays at 1080p for the entire game. But they are very different beasts, and Im working a video for Black Flag to hopefully answer a few more questions.
I like the dedication you put into making this review, but of course i have couple criticism: 1. I don't think that the graphic is actually better than the original, does the switch version performs better? probably yes, but not graphically better. I don't own a switch yet at this point, but base on your video, i feel right away that the graphic is actually bad (even the original game looks bad for my standard)and to make it worst, the texture for the switch version is rather bland in comparison to the original version, not to mention that the crowds is significantly reduces in order to maintain the frame rate. Even the draw distance is not better than the original, it is similar at best or even worst (for a reason that i will state on no.2) in comparison to the original. At 8:44 on the farside, look carefully, you can notice a graphical artefact that appear if you are too far from a particular object (or texture of the object is not fully loaded yet). This artefact also occurs in the original version when you are exploring the city or riding a horse too fast. The only difference in visual that you can notice is the lighting effect which they re-adjust for every remastered version. 2. You may or may not realized this; but the switch version of AC3 is actually a port of a WII version of AC3. Bottom line is, if you keep comparing the switch version to the OG because you think that the OG version is the worst, then you have miss your point, because the fact is, WII version of AC3 is even WORST than the OG version. With this, i hope it provide some insight to you regarding; The session end 'glitch', the map icon border color, so on and so forth....again, its because the switch version is a port of WII version of AC3. It looks like that the development of this game for Nintendo consoles was being differentiate than the rest version of AC3, so some features that can easily be change from the OG version to the current gen consoles may not be an easy task to perform on Nintendo's version, thus it retains with the same old glitch. 3. i watch the whole review video hoping that you mention about this one particular glitch on the remastered version of AC3...but you didn't. it means 2 things; first, it confirms that switch version is the only version safe from this annoying disaster....or secondly, you didn't realize about the existence of this particular glitch....The glitch i have been talking about is the MUSIC GLITCH that will keep on getting louder and louder and LOUDER in every encounters until either your speakers or eardrums blow up! this glitch has infected every version of AC3 Remastered including PC with no cure whatsoever to this day. And playing on ps4, i have to set the music to 0 which actually diminishes the immersion of the already boring game. Last but not least, you give the score of 9 /10 for this game, which is fine, its ur opinion. But even if you give it a 6 or a 5, i will still looking forward to play it again in a portable mode when i own a switch, even after what i mentioned above i will still buy and play this game because....what to say, im an AC fan, maybe you are as well.
AC3 Remastered has a good improvement in gameplay environment lighting and UI, but cutscenes look like shit lmao. It's much stable than the OG version tho, Glitches is handled a bit better but that's jus it... A bit. I never had a music glitch at all tho.
YEP! Runs at a rock solid 30 with few exceptions. The Charles Lee chase scene is probably the worst as shown in the video. It dips to 18fps, but you also see how quickly it recovered to 23fps, then got back up to 25. The engine does a good job of getting back on its feet when it takes a hard hit. The 360 in contrast had a hard time recovering when it bottlenecked.
Thanks for the update vid. For me specificaly there is only one thing I care about and thats the performance. Especially on this weak ass console. Since most of the games runs like shit on it.
You consistently ignore (I want to think you're not lying on purpose) REAL performance problems of this version. Been playing for the last week on my brand new Switch OLED and it chugs like crazy in many random areas and cinematics. I believe the patches were an improvement but it's still below 30 fps like 40% of the time, which is not exactly a small fraction of the gameplay. Plus it chugs even in areas where it shouldn't (Achilles' house basement, for example). Add the buggy nature of the game itself and what you get is a mediocre feeeling, unpolished product that shouldn't be bought on Switch unless you have no other console. This video is poorly made and doesn't depic the current state of the game.
Thanks for the feedback there fella. I was wondering how long it would take for a troll to invade this review. I stand behind my video and the game speaks for itself. I tried many times in the video to crash the framerate and failed to do so. The engine holds well. The Charles Lee chase was obviously very rough which is why I made sure to display it so people knew the ugly part of the port before buying it. There are still parts of the game where it does dip, but its usually brief and doesnt impact play (I dont care if I walk through Achilles house at 25FPS). The team did a GREAT job with this port despite the limitations of the Switch. If you cant be happy with it, Im sorry to hear that. Be well.
@@ConsoleDaddy Imagine pretending to take criticism well after calling me a troll for experiencing a much worse product than what you depict in your video. Is that's how professional you want your channel to be? To whoever reads this comment: the game is playable but this review fails to cover many of its technical imperfections. The fps is very unstable, check any other review, which will be closer to the DOCKED experience. The patch improved the audio but the performance boost was marginal. This video is not accurate nor informative enoguh, sadly, because there was clear effort. Not enough, of course, free roaming in one town (without actually running much, which is what would force the GPU via spawning elements on screen) isnt representative of the game. There will be many action scenes and the frontier, where the foliage slows the game down. The cutscene displays higher quality models at the cost of a very unstable fps (consistently
@@jesuscorrales8909 Implying right out of the gate that I am a liar isnt criticism, but trolling, so your words ring hallow. Your analysis is nice, but is not what I experienced. I have played this game since launch in 2012, so I think I have a good feel for the title. I have a feeling you're judging it based on leftover glitches from the 2012 version. Which I point out do exist, and I did not factor them into my review. But we will have to agree to disagree. But I will leave your comments here for other viewers to read and make up their own minds.
It's AC3. Arguably the worst AC game. If you've played it once you probably don't need to play it again. If you've played it twice definitely don't play it again. But this is nice for someone who only owns Nintendo and hasn't played this.

It looks obviously worse than the wii u version it has downgrade draw distance and bloom effects and more pop in
It's AC3. Arguably the worst AC game. If you've played it once you probably don't need to play it again. If you've played it twice definitely don't play it again. But this is nice for someone who only owns Nintendo and hasn't played this.
