      @@justinsugay1149 would you recommend the 600 for first bike? Rode dirtbikes when I was younger but it has been years

    • @justinsugay1149
      @justinsugay1149 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Trevor.Dionne I know what it feels like to ride and then stop and get back on again after years. However, I must say dirt (overall) is safer than street. Yes you fall more often in dirt but the injuries are much smaller (most of the time) and likely less fatal. So on street, as long as you are an aware person and pay attention to all the madness out there and have good decision making and self DISCIPLINE/control a 600 is great but if you aren't used to street, even a "safer" slower 250 or 300 bike can get you killed. So just be smart on it and take it easy at first until you feel confident going from less busy to higher density traffic. In terms of muscle memory, reaction, feel etc. just ride a lot and get to know the bike and you'll love it. Do your homework and do what's right for you. The main thing about these supersports is you can get too confident keeping up with friends when your skills aren't locked in. I lost a friend at 19 (I'm 46 now) who didn't stay tight in a turn and got taken out by a mack truck. So, please be careful and pick your spots to be a hooligan carefully. I took a safety training course and recommend that if you can. Gets you on a street bike and a license too!

    Congrats! If you sit back on the seat, grip the tank with your thighs, bend your arms and put your hands mid way through the grips and relax your hands it’ll put less stress on your back and hands. I’m on an 08 R6 and it’s alot worse. Lol

    • @sook_
      @sook_  ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Thanks for the tips. It’s been about a week since I’ve had the bike and everyday it gets more and more comfortable, still have to constantly remind myself to keep my back straight lol. But I can ride it for MUCH longer than the first day before I get a little exhausted. I’ve heard the R6 has the most aggressive seating position out of all the Japanese 600s. Thanks for watching!

    • @Mackathne
      @Mackathne ปีที่แล้ว +3

      funny, for me sitting up as close to the tank as possible lets me straighten my back out and feels most comfortable. Sitting back and leaning more forward gives some relief too, but just goes to show that everyone's spine is different

    • @Mackathne
      @Mackathne ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But yeah, definitely took about a week of riding and second guessing if it was too aggressive for me before I got comfortable with it

  • @rafaellastracom6411

    Part of the brake-in period is loading the engine up so enough cylinder pressure seats the piston rings against the walls. Don´t worry about going to redline from time to time.

    Just picked up a 2018 gsxr600 myself.I rode all Honda CBRs in the past and have always hated suzuki,but now that I have one I love it lol I did a cat/servo/02 sensor delete,added a midpipe and an m4 exhaust.Sounds amazing.I got the delete sensors to plug in place of those to keep the F1 light off.Runs great as is but plan on getting a dyno tune and ecu flash in the near future to get max potential out of her.

    • @sook_
      @sook_  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ayye that's awesome bro! Yea Suzuki definitely has a "stigma" and is "hated" in the sportbike community lmao, but once you actually get a leg over one they're amazing (really just the funny community lol). I'm still thinking if I want to get a full system exhaust or do a slip-on since I plan to track the bike sometime in the future. All I've done so far is just get a fender delete and it's made the bike look so much better, but the ugly stock exhaust needs to go soon. Seems like you've got everything figured out for your bike, enjoy it!

    Beautiful bike. I have an 07. GSXRs are relatively so comfortable, smooth, nimble and easy to ride (and get yourself into trouble); if the law really saw how one rides, being pulled over would be the least you'd expect them to do... just saying. I always wanted an R6 but after my GSXR Idk if I can live without the low end powerband being so full of torque (relatively speaking). Increasing your core strength (abs), legs and eventually your back (just comes from riding) will help a lot to not really feel as much weight on your wrists. Have fun, be safe (mostly)!

    • @sook_
      @sook_  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry didn’t see your comment earlier (TH-cam hides stuff) but the sound you’re hearing from take off could just be the vibrations from the clutch plates syncing when you’re letting off the clutch (not entirely sure what the sound is you’re experiencing). If you’re too worried about it I’d find another one and compare, or get it checked out.

    I know little to nothing about bikes. Say I’m a beginner, would this be a good first bike???

    • @sook_
      @sook_  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would personally go with something a little less intimidating (like a Ninja 400, Yamaha R3, or even the new Kawasaki ZX4RR that’s coming out this year if you’ve had previous dirt bike experience). I say that because while the bike is pretty docile at low RPMs, once you get up to around 8-10k revs the bike wakes up in the powerband and I could see it being pretty dangerous for a beginner. Plus the ergonomics aren’t that great for learning how to ride and it’s going to be very uncomfortable while you try to learn the basics. If you do still choose to get one, take it slow and don’t ride above your limits. Good luck on the search, thanks for watching!

    Looked at this bike yesterday in the dealership. And was surprised that suzuki didn’t update anything in gsxr600 for many years. How does it feels without any electronic assistance? This thing doesn’t even have simple abs which every bike has now🤔 This bike looks nice and it fast enough , but price for this old thing $15k🤔

      In 2017 brand new it was $11k so I hope you’re wrong about that price.

    You were doing 95-100 miles per hour or kilometers per hour? Or were the other shopping trolleys in the shot (that were pacing you) straight up cruising at 150KM/h? That's bloody mad. If you did that where I lived you'd lose your license, get a massive fine and risk jail time. 70MPH is the maximum speed limit we have though.

      MPH (allegedly of course 😂). Yea Arizona is crazy, super fast drivers for no reason, gotta keep up with them but even here you risk a ticket. Highest speed limit here is 75MPH on freeways outside of major cities.
