Not always. My father in-law has bought mostly new (but with some ex-demo) RAV 4's for the last 25+ years, and he's had issues. His current RAV 4 needed new suspension arms and bushes at less than 30k miles from new. Admittedly it was sorted under warranty, as you get a further 12 Months warranty each time you get a service at a Toyota dealer. They said the repairs would have cost in excess of £1800 had he not had the warranty in place....

The Ecoboost engines are rubbish in general. The 2.0 and larger ones aren't as bad. But the 2.0 has had multiple recalls and weren't replaced if the milage was too high. The 2.0 is only good when it's attached to a manual gearbox. The Mondeo only has the 2.0 combined with the CATASTROPHIC Powershift transmission. So only the Focus ST is somewhat decent. Ford should improve their engine back to ztec rather then ecoboom
Go back to CVH. Or even the Pinto or even the crossflow
@@ChrisPatrick-q6k definitely wouldn't pass emissions. Wonder what the co2 is on a 2.0 pinto. Most of those engines did outlast the cars in my experience.
@@ChrisPatrick-q6k definitely. I think my focus 18.tdci had a wet belt I never replaced it though and it lasted 16years. Had a fractured spring noisy wheel bearing and the duel mass flywheel went so I sold it spares or repair. Still got £721 for it though. It's not just ford with wet belts. Peugeot, Vauxhall, VW use them.
@@chrishart8548what about the side valve or Kent pre cross flow
