Why Gen 2 mags, and not spring for the Gen 3? I'm not making an argument or suggestion either way, just curious. As you are a Colt Man, I'm sure it's not to save two bucks per mag, so I'm wondering if you found g3 to be inferior to g2. Thanks for your time!

I dropped a lancer mag the other day and half the rounds shot out onto the floor. I like them because it’s easy to identify different rounds, i use them for 300 blackout. Other than that it’s pmag all the way.
I only buy the aluminum Mags. They will last longer in storage. If you leave them, plastic ones loaded they will start cracking in the back loaded and they will get u killed.
Have you had any of the Fred lips force apart on the aluminum ones? My buddy was a SAW gunner in the early GWOT days and kept a few aluminum mags loaded for emergencies. He gave them to me because all the feed lips were forced apart and they won’t hold ammo anymore. Honest question.
@@thomasowens3135 I have, and it wasn't a magazine I used often. You can buy or 3D print a lip spacer guage and you can use that to detect when a mag is going to fail. The magazine will also not drop free before it fails so that is an indicator.

I've never had an issue with lancer's or magpul's so i buy which ever is on sale at the time
If you live near a Firehouse Subs, their pickle buckets can be purchased for 3.00 and the include the lid. And they're also food safe.
Good to know, the next time I make some pickles. I suppose they could be cleaned enough to make beer & wine, as a primary fermentor!?

I have found some Gen 3s stick in a lot of my Colts but never the Gen 2s, in addition I dont like the over insertion stop.

A buddy had Lancer mags. They wouldn't eject / drop, when empty. So, he has went with something else now.
Kinda late but has he adjusted his mag release? Just a novice builder. I know thats like saying I build Legos.
