Informative video. I was struggling with trying to time my FH without my barrel spinning between the wood I had it clamped in. Now I realize that if it’s spinning, I’m probably torquing it too much. Still doesn’t solve the horrible timing issue though

If you get one that way doesn't work, I use a pin inserted the size of the inside with a taper to get past and lift the spring leg similar to what you appear to have tried then use a small screwdriver on the short spring side to catch the edge of the sleeves slot and rotate it up and around 180 degrees. Once rotated the sleeve can be easily pushed out. Brownell's used to carry just the replacement sleeves for the sear, but I don't know if they still have them.

Try the Derraco Engineering comparitor set. I like that set way better than my Hornady set. I could never get the things to attach to my calipers with no air gap until I bought the Derraco set and their base. I was also really impressed when I put a shoulder comparitor on for the first time and went to zero, the caliper measured exactly 2.0000

How is the fitment if the 3/8 tub3 inside the 1/2 tube? From my math, the ID of the outer tube is 0.384 and the OD of the inner tube is 0.375.

Great video! We need you around. You have to win your fight. I have played with those parts in the past, though I have no practical use for them as I don't own a machine gun yet. They are legal to own in the state that I live in, however the prices are confiscatory. There are so many other items I would rather have than sinking a fortune into just one. I've been blessed that I've been able to shoot so many different machine guns in my life. It's fun, but at this time not worth the price of admission. I got a bunch of blem stocks and took them apart because some levers wouldn’t work on certain stocks. I sat there for a few days figuring out which stock worked with which lever and got most of them to work. Never tried to take my bcm stock apart… maybe I’ll give it a go lol. I love taking things apart and putting them back together,i always have, mom use to say when I’d get a gift as a kid one of the first things I’d do is try to figure out how to get it apart.

Only way to really know is a CMM I can also attest that most of my barrels didn’t pass with forester gauges but would pass with ptg I guess people should ask what gauges and reamers ar manufacturers use before buying now lol

Did you fix it with the install? Or, did you just replace the pin? I'm getting the ping (functions, I just don't want the ping). With the reaction rod I could remove the pin, install the barrel and be squared away, you think? Thanks.

Good demonstration. I think this is particularly useful on a AR10 build. They are less than standardized! Even in components that are listed as compatible, your MUST check clearances. For instance the Vlotor A5 buffer tube is listed as compatible with the Armalite 3.25" buffer. Those buffer tubes spec out at 7 3/4". Now the original Armalite is listed at 7 5/8" I tried using the Vlotor and the BCG was striking the back of the lower receiver and buffer tube. With the Armalite 7 5/8" buffer I had proper clearance. I check mine the same way you do...with the spring on.

Where did you get your oversized/longer taper pins? I see that there are some on eBay and Amazon but they’re just carbon steel. Does it even matter if these pins are hardened since I don’t see gun companies selling hardened oversized pins?

Can you do more frequent updates for your cancer labs and health changes while you are doing this regimen? Also, maybe post some other place this same info in case it magically 'disappears' some day, as most people by now realize how the greedy corporations that rule, 'we the people', seem to have far reaching controls onto the mass population against majority wants!

Sir, God bless you and may you beat this cancer. The Wellness Company might be a good location for consultation for Ivermectin. I trust Dr. Peter McCullough's recommendation of TWC. As I mentioned in a previous video, Ivermectin saved my elderly father when he got Covid. And I researched Ivermectin found the studies on the use against cancer. I also found the case of Joe Tippens and his use of Fenbendozole to save his life when he got cancer. It seems that anti-parasite treatments are also very promising treatments for cancers.

Great video! Glad to see you are making videos again. Do you believe that measuring the absolute firing pin protrusion from the bolt face as well as the method you have shown would be the best way? I'm thinking that I will do both to compensate for hammer spring strengths, as you mentioned, as well as any other drag or tolerance variances. Also, as I believe you mentioned, some primers are harder than others. In addition, there will be tolerance changes with cartridge type and chamber type/variances. Take care.

I've had problems with Lancers. Not good.

What would be interesting would be a back to back test swapping out the mil spec hammer pin for a KNS anti rotation pin. Because how this works is the hammer and hammer pin rotate in the lower receiver bores. But locking down the hammer pin preventing it from rotating would cause the hammer to then have to rotate on the hammer pin with the J spring providing drag thus slowing down the hammer speed, (lock time) but by how much and how much would that effect primer penetration? Time to buy some KNS pins and find out.

Sorry if I don’t get this but it appears you measured firing pin protrusion the hardest and weirdest way possible.

Technically I believe that is an extension, at my work we have multiple tips, flat, round, needle, hooked etc... and multiple lenghts of extensions to increase depth.

That's a great way to do it! I have a go/no-go gauge that just measures the pin protrusion off the bolt face but doesn't provide any other information. Your method dynamically checks all associated parts of the upper and is superior!
