- This 2007 BMW Z4M Coupe retains a mostly stock powertrain, but has been thorougly worked over in the chassis department for maximum handling and grip at weekend track events. It features a complete suspension improvement with coil overs and aggressive bushings, upgraded brakes, wheels, tires, and body work, with a focus on making this Z4M an uncompromised, yet reliable, drivers car.

New Z4 (might be different name) replacement will share under-body/chassis with new Toyota Supra. The manufacturers developed the underbody together and it will be built by a supplier in Germany I believe. Then each manufacturer will add their own drivetrain, body, and interior at their own assembly plants. Expecting both coupe and convertible for the BMW. The Toyota is supposed to follow the styling of the FT1 concept. I think the expectation is prototype for the production Toyota Supra will be unveiled at this years Tokyo Auto Show, and a possible 2019 release (so late 2018). I would assume the BMW would follow similar timeline, so possibly 2019 we will see another Z4 :)

hopefully that means bmw will include a coupe model. but it will probably be a dumb targa top and not be as good as the c7 corvette and cost more money. but one can dream!
The Z4 M is easily my favorite BMW ever, as well as the only BMW I actually like. I always found all the other models to look identical with the only changes being in length, door count and name. The Z4 is probably the most unique looking model from the early 2000's till now and will always hold a place in my heart as my preferred little car in NFS Shift.

I got a very angry email from someone yesterday who accused me of "buzzing cyclists at high speed, generally around blind corners." While I can't find a single instance of that actually happening, I have plenty of videos where I give them wide berths or turn around entirely to stay out of their way. I didn't even respond to the person since they obviously just wanted to pick a fight, but it's important to not murder cyclists while out enjoying the roads.

I'm assuming they're talking about the bicyclists that were out in full force in your Evora 400 video. Honestly, watching that video made me wince a little. I don't think you were being super crazy but it was a bit faster than I personally would have passed them.

I knew someone who had one of these cars back in the day, not sure if it is the same one but it looks similar, and he had a PS2 installed into it, he had the system in the center console and a pop out TV. Was pretty cool back then.

I had solid urethane engine mounts that were a hardness of 70 and you could hear things rattling. Especially coins that were in the change holder. It was nice though because you gained more traction and response because the motor wasn't moving in the engine bay like it would with OEM mounts.

I'm surprised also that with solid engine and trans mounts there are not alot of vibrations into the cabin.... but with the cars Matt has driven, not sure how much he says is worth here. To an ordinary person, it might be just too much vibration to drive. I learned my lesson after installing semi-solid engine/trans mounts.

I see the Eventuri, I see it good, and I smile a little :)
Although now that I'm into the parts of the video from inside the car, have to say I can't hear the intake noise much at all from the Eventuri, it all seems to be muffled out by the aftermarket exhaust.
Kind of saddening, because the stock exhaust and Eventuri in combination is a sweet sound on both the E46 M3 and Z4M variants.
You hear it from the outside though, which is nice, but part of the thrill is hearing it from the inside too, especially at the mid rpm range.

Went auto crossing not to long ago and one of my friend her dad has one and auto crossed it damn it was a monster his was stock except a couple handing mods coils and tires and steel break lines sweet car

How does the stock gt350 seat compare to the profi xl? The measurements I took say it would be a little more forgiving. I am considering switching out to them and preserving my stock 350 seat.

love these so much. but one of the few cars i physically can't drive due to my size. i have driven A LOT of vehicles great and small and this one stumped me, mainly shifting was impossible due to knee being in the way. it's a shame because i was set to buy a brown metallic one years ago with super low miles and had to pass.

how does this compare to an e46 m3?
I'm a huge e9x series fan. But this Z4 is really growing on me. I like the newer model designs but it one of those where I'm not sure which engine I want to get, s54 or n54, when I eventually buy one of these. I know the issues of the n54 but haven't done any research on the s54. But I like the 11'-16' body style though... I'm at odds. I will have one one day though.

S54s are hard to get to sound good outside the car, but with the right exhaust set up, you can eliminate that raspy/farty sound. Also I would love to see a supercharged S54 car on here

What is it with BMW i6s not sounding amazing anymore?
The M-coupe hits all of the fun variables for me, but I have a tough time getting past the Bangle front with the glaringly obvious hood seam which stretches from corner to corner. And while that sounds childish (only the drive train should matter!), that one element ages and cheapens the design. The rear and side profiles are wonderful.
I thought the h&r coilover were rubbish on my z4m...kwv3 on swift springs were the sweet spot

First mod on any S54-equipped car should be the CSL airbox. Don't even drive the car until you got one installed.
But why the high temp break fluid?! I wouldn't like to change my fluid every two weeks...
