This is GREAT! I'm a total newbie, and this was so easy to follow. Thank you for posting! At certain points, I slowed the video down to 75% and that helped even more!

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for! They're for a baby blanket and I've dropped a couple of stitches here and there, so I have a couple of holes I need to hide! Lol x

How come my first petal is real tight then all subsequent petals are real loose ? I believe it has to do with the bind off stitch. It just grows and grows . I hope this makes sense. Thank you

So excited to try this! It seems cute and I want to add it to the booties I just knitted for my four month old daughter! Is there an easy way of making the flower larger as well? I would like to add one to the hat I made her to match the booties. Thanks for the video!!

2 hours later after replaying sections a billion times because you go too fast for beginners, I FINALLY produced a dilapidated and defective flower....but I was happy!! I will have to try again! I'm assuming I can make the flower smaller by starting off with half the number of stitches?? Am I correct in my assumption? I'm a beginner knitter so I need simple instructions.

Hi there. I have not tried this, but I want to. I don't think reducing the number of stitches would make the flower smaller. You would get less petals. I think if you want the flower to be smaller, you might have to use smaller needles if they work with the yarn that you are using.

Yes smaller needles for a smaller flower as well ss reducing the number of stitches. I used 2 and three quarter needles with an 8ply wool and 30 stitches. Work in multiples of 10 - 30, 40, 50 etc. My 30 stitches looked like a pansy with its 3 petals (I cast on in white but did remaining rows in purple ). The ideal size to top the instep of a bootee for a 3month old

Love the pattern, but I used pdns, so I could push the stitches to the other side of the needle to cinch them up. It makes a more complete circle.

Okay, so I absolutely love this flower pattern, but I would not recommend it as a first experience with purling. I had never done a purl before attempting this and I somehow ended up with NINE petals, so either I took on something above my level or I’m just an idiot.😂 I did my next flower without purling and found it came out exactly as I wanted it to. I’m putting these on a hat that I made, so I imagine I’ll be making at least one more and I was wondering if you know any way to make a tiny flower, maybe about half the size? Love the video, love your voice, awesome tutorial.

What size knitting needles should be used? If I use smaller needles will the flower be any smaller, or can you use the same pattern and only cast on 40 or 30 stitched to make it smaller and have less petals?

What brand of yarn did you use here in this project?

  • @abecka123

Please note: I made this twice and it seems to have four too many cast on stitches. I got all 5 petals but was left over with four stitches on my needle that had no home. Imo it should be 46 cast on stitches for this pattern. The written pattern is wrong too. Thanks!

It is correct, you made a mistake!

??????...after you drop the nine stitches you lose me; youre going too fast with that double-wind thing you're doing with the remaining stitches...tried it 5 times and still doesnt come out right
