Great car but am sure the 0-60 times are less... found it is 7.2s with the manual option... would have been worth mentioning but good review nevertheless!

I have a 2013 swift sport and love it, can't wait for to be on sale and book a test drive.

I test drive one of these for 24 hours. They are unbelievably fun to drive. I would have bought one if it wasn't for those horribly narrow seats. As an average sized Australian, my legs sat more on the bolsters than between them, and the side bolsters dug into my back. Those seats were definitely designed for small Japanese people without giving much thought to anyone of even moderate size. I also found my size 13 foot would hit the footrest when using the clutch. I found myself having to adjust how I placed my foot on the clutch pedal. I would have also preferred a digital speed readout in between the dials instead of useless graphical readouts of boost/torque, acceleration/braking, etc. The Australian version has a speedometer which goes from 0-260 so the lines are crammed so close together its hard to easily read your speed at a glance. Finally, I get that it's a small car, but a centre console armrest would have been appreciated. You don't notice it at first but when cruising for any length of time, not being able to rest your arm anywhere gets annoying. Those gripes aside, this is an insanely fun car. I could live without the digital speedo and armrest. I hope in future models they make the seats more comfortable and I'll buy one in a heartbeat!

Yep I sat in my friend's one a while back and the seats were way too small... made me feel fat even though I'm not🤦‍♂️

Not enough credit is given to the Suzuki engineers for working out how to fit this model with a diesels red line.

Auto in a Swift Sport? Are you freaking kidding me?! Get a manual and 0-60 is 7.2 and waaaaaay more fun!

WTF Mate I knew it was 7.2s... thanks for confirming 😍 they should have clarified manual option cuts times significantly imo

Manuals are fun for 2-3 hrs. If you want a daily driver, auto is the best option.

Simply not true, i've been having fun in my manual XR4 for 8 years

8.0 is 0-100 in the manual car as well. I wish they had Auto in the NL. Only manual here. I am awaiting confirmation on Monday if I can swap the seats for the normal Swift, since i don't fit in the Sport ones. But I will say the car is rather lovely, but don't expect the same level of creature comforts such as the VAG group or the other Japanese brands of cars. But, for the money, it is quite the car for sure.

They’ve ruined the front end on the sport, it looks less like an f type and more like a gawking fish now, sad.
And still we have uninformed journalists complimenting torque, still not understanding how torque x rpm = power. A low torque, high rpm engine is more fun and torque means nothing for the speed, only gearing and power does. A flatter torque curve means more predictable delivery but that’s another matter, and I personally much prefer the continuous build of an NA high revving engine.
If I can afford to at some point I’d buy a 4x4 2017 Swift, convert it to RWD, put in the sport’s gearbox, and fit the biggest engine I can. At the very least you could fit in an Alfa Romeo 1.4 multiair, which is also a 1.4 turbo but revs higher and produces 170bhp, 220 with a tune. Now that would be a proper swift sport. Probably about £20k all in which isn’t bad

      @chrisogrady28 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Since writing this I've owned a guilietta with that 1.4 and it's a terrible engine and has put me off all turbos forever.

The best thing about this swift is in 15 20 years time when they drop down to £1000 used. They will already be light weight and turbo charged for a nice little project rally car project like the ignis sport, swift sport 2005 ect.

Why oh why are all the test cars in the ugliest colours? Yellow!!? I want to puke! Might be fun to drive but it’s an ugly car compared to the previous shape.

I have the SZ5 1litre Turbo one. Not as fast as yours but 109bhp in such a light car it's still good to drive. If I had the Sport I doubt I'd hang on to my Licence.

Walter Molina i read somewhere that it comes with a space saver spare tire like most cars nowadays, which is a shame. My older Swift comes with a full size alloy spare tire.

Why do car companies these days insist on having the black and silver alloy wheels. They're just downright awful and only way I'd buy this car, is if I could fit my own aftermarket rims fresh out of the dealership.

great car but come on... how are you going to drive it if its only in at the mechanics? but jokes aside, really is a great car, but for the money, id take the swift all day any day. mainly because of the looks, but also because it is much more reliable and still really fun to drive.
