Brilliant. Thanks for showing the overlap of the chines in front. I couldnt understand that elsewhere.

Great build. I saw a stitch and glue boat that used 2" peices of PVC pipe on the inside of every other stitch to prevent the "overlap" of the plywood....unless of course you are wanting that.

I wish there was a 17' model, that would be the one I would want to make, I could use a 15', but 17' would be better. What a great looking boat! I LOVE the chine, and the flotation/trim tabs of the rear end, VERY functional!

then someone would want a 19 then 21 and you see it just no end to it. Before long the guy would be building a 40 footer. Just build it 17 foot. Let me tell you how to build the easiest boat. Youglue the sheets together and get yor bottom laid out on a quarter inch sheet of metal. You tack 2 inch metal pipe right along side the bottom o the boat. Then you cut the plywood the height you want. I would cut it the same height front to back. You use a hydraulic jack and you push the sides up against the pipe and drill small holes and use electrical ties to securethe sides. Then you have tocut down a tree andyou need two pieces of wood 3 x 3 by 25 feet. Now the wood will be wetbut you want it wet to be able to conform to the sides of the boat. You screw into the sids of the plywood by goin through the thick wood. You'll want this t dry for a couple months in the Summer. You then loosenup the screws and use marine glue and then screw in from the plywood sides of he boat. You'll tighten up the screws in the bottom that go through the hick wood into thebottom. Then put your cross members in and glue them and screw them down. Then putyour gussets in and washboards and glue them all down. Then lip the boat over and Then put four inch srews through the bottom into the sides. I've built boats this way but buil them with aluminum now. Aluminum Ican weld and it doesn't have to dry and you don't have to pain and I can get 24 feet lengths of aluminum. The bad thin about aluminum is fishing when the aves hi on the sides or you drop somehig it is so loud.

Barry, according to Tango LLC's website, they do offer a 17' Tango but nothing larger. The only problem is no one bothers to write back when you contact this company via email.

The same here why show a job half done why not show it from the start and step by step. It is far more entertaining that way and you have a good voice to carry it

What are the tabs sticking out of the transom for ? I’d like to build a 14’ flats boat using the stitch and glue method, are you using 1/4” in. Luan plywood on the bottom and sides? My big worry is getting it registered and checked by the coast guard to make it legal .

When is the glue or marine epoxy applied to the stitched sections of this boat, as I haven't seen any other issues about this boat on You Tube? Would like to learn all that there is to do and, construct a similar boat here in the Philippines, when I have nothing but time on my hands at Age 68. Nice video too!

You can buy the plans from Hank Bravo at tango skiff.com! This video is of a Tango 14 which was built for a Nissan 9.8. Plywood thickness is 3/8" on hull and 1/2" on seats and bulkheads.

How did you get the front to curl upward?
Did you have to cut the front plywood into arches or when you pull the front in does it pull the front up?
    Thanks

Would you recommend stitch and glue if you were going to make a boat out of 3/4 plywood? If you did make it out of 3/4 plywood. Would you have to add any bracing on the sides?

Tim, I just posted a comment at the top of the screen as to how to contact www.tangoskiff.com (as all they show on their website if you have questions - is an email address). No phone number whatsoever. I have an unusual situation (as shown at the top of the page) and, have written numerous emails to Tango LLC and, haven't received any email responses back as to how they ship their plans out. Unsure if Tango LLC is still operating or not, but I seem to think they are, as you can order the plans on their website but, no one is reading their emails - which is a major concern to me (and, possibly others that want to purchase their plans or, just communicate with someone).

Paul, the plans are in PDF download only (no paper ones sent) if you go to the website, the plans link, then to the boat plans you want.... there is a "buy now" button which takes you to the Payplal login. After paying through paypal, you will get the download link for the PDF.

Jonny, thanks for the info, as it's well appreciated. Have recently been discovered with a medical set back as I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy (secondary issue of Diabetes Mellitus Type II) - a direct result of my being exposed to Agent Orange during my three tours in the Vietnam Theater. So, unsure now whether I can fulfill my boat building dreams or not, as my physician has instructed me to NOT be on my feet for much more than 30-minutes. Thanks again for everything.
