I always enjoy getting out on small streams in Maine to flyfish for brook trout in the spring and summer months. I live an hour or so from Libby Camps. They are a great guiding service.

Using roll casts is one of the best tips you can get, the amount of fish you get has way more to do with how much time your fly spends in the water than how far you throw. And when you roll cast, it's right out and right back in there. While if you're using a regular cast, your fly spends far too much time being cast and too little time in the water.

Great advice. Don’t prioritize getting the fish on the reel. With Brook trout and landlock salmon Keep the line tight using your fingers on the line. Trust me.

This video was awesome and this channel is really great! I have learned a lot from you guys. I’m sure I speak for all Fly fisherman when I say this is an adventure I would love to go on someday! $750 a day is pretty steep though!

Maine brook trout fishing used to be some of the best in the world, now its only the best in the states which isnt saying much considering how bad brook trout fishing is in the US

They were black quills and it still vexes me that the trout didn't key in on the. I would have been super cool to have rising fish but, you take what you get.

Roll casting is very hard. You must practice. Unless you're the MJ of fishing. And there aren't any. Lee I suppose.

Practice makes perfect but in my opinion, roll casting is easier than regular casting!

@@dominiqueleblanc2193 agree to some point. Basic, short line roll casting can be accomplished with relative ease but to get really efficient with longer casts, (40'+) it does take reps but it may be the most valuable tool in your box.

Don't overthink roll casting. It's basically half of an over hand cast with the water loading the rod, rather than the back cast. That said, if you are struggling with it, get with a good instructor. I'm sure you will flatten the learning curve in no time.
