I just picked up fly fishing within the last couple years. Self taught by watching, listening and practicing what this channel teaches. Only regret I have is not picking it up 40 years ago.
Tip when fishing a dry caddis. Try casting a quartering downstream with an immediate pop when the fly hits the water. The slack gives you immediate natural float. Then let the fly go all the way to the end of the drift and let it get pulled under. At the moment the fly gets pulled under, you will often get a take! My guess is that the fish sees the fly drift then go under like a diving female in an effort to lay eggs on the bottom.
i listen to this guy more than my teachers at shcool
