Sailing in a THUNDERSTORM! (Prindle 16)

The Prindle 16 is a highly capable vessel and the envy of any sailor's eye. This one also happens to be the prettiest Catamaran at the Longmont Yacht Club on Ol' Union Reservoir. Winds were rated as cheeky today, and I am still a landblubbering greenhorn of a sailor (unlike our wizen captain Jake) so we just stuck to the mainsail today. We were both able to get out on the trapeze, trapping with ease as the Prindy cut like glass through the variable chop. This boat would dust a hobie 16, or any size hobie cat for that matter with a proper crew and at full trim. We had planned to get the jib out but then an impending thunderstorm came too close for comfort, so we made a few final jibes and tacks and brought her back to shore. Sailing in Colorado's front range is an absolute treat, with close access from Denver and gorgeous views of Long's peak and the foothills.
