Not sure if someone has commented on this yet or not...Alpaca does not have grease (lanolin) like sheep's wool. What you are feeling is a different protein structure. Under a microscope you will see vast differences between the fibers of alpaca and sheep. Alpaca is smoother and more compact. Alpaca is very warm and moisture resistant. Also, oddly, slightly flame retardant. But as a spinner myself, I definitely can feel the difference.
So excited for you to become an OB/GYN physician. It has been my nursing specialty for years. Enjoy your time learning and managing the stresses of obstetrics.
I’m so happy to see that people outside of Canada are using Briggs and Little yarn. It’s one of my favourites. Rustic, but as you say, softens up after washing. Thanks for sharing
I bought my first Briggs and Little yarn at a little grocery store in Campobello. many years ago now. Campobello is beautiful. Anyway, I bought a lot of yarn, loved and knit every last inch of it.
I've started watching the knitting podcasts with a purpose to improve my English. Your videos are amazing. I always have a good time with you. All the knitters around the world are the same. Trying to keep themselves to not leave all the money in the yarn store 😂. I love your cable sweater/process
Good luck with your new specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology. I think it will make you happy seeing the nice smile on your face when you mentioned it. Congratulations on your decision. If you ever feel like doing an internship in Canada, I believe that you would be welcomed with open arms. But there is a reason behind the warm welcome of Canadian women that may not be a good fit for you if you want to have time to knit and have a good work and life balance. Where I live, we are very short in these specialists in Ontario, Canada as I have been waiting since July 2018 to get an appointment and I am still waiting ... All the best, Chantal
This is the first time I have come across your podcast and despite not wanting to watch, I couldn’t help but enjoy the entire episode 😊. I’m glad I did! I have been knitting again since this January (after 35 years of working ), and Loving it 😍 It was lovely watching you tell us about the knitting projects you are doing right now, as well as the completed ones! Wonderful designs💕You’re a refreshing, pretty, bright young girl and here’s congratulations on your new job🥳 Wish you luck. Happy knitting.
Nice to see the rustic Canadian yarn has already found its way into a project. Loved your podcast and a glimpse of some of your life in Norway in the video at the end.
I am so glad that I found your podcast! Your knitting projects are beautiful, and I like that you explain why you chose a particular yarn, and why you made the changes you made, and even how you worked through seeing if you had sufficient yarn for the ranunculus sweater. Thank you for leaving time at the end to knit and chat. I wish you all the best in your new program as an OB-gyn!
Watching from Africa and I could relate with you .knitting is a passion that you can never let go I listened to you talk about your new career that I guess is demanding but you sitll plan on knitting and that's something I do daily .enjoy your new job.
I am watching your new podcast today while enjoying the oats and cottage cheese buns with hazelnut butter and coffee for breakfast. Thanks so much for the recipe!
Love your new polar sweater😍 Stunning colours! Thank you for adding the skiing footage, so good to see the world can be like this again after being locked up in isolation for a long time ❤
I am amazed how much knitting you get done. I am retired, with lots of free time and don’t get nearly as much done. The new sweaters are lovely. The Ranunculus is on my wish list. Great to know it can be done with so little yarn. The skiing 🎿 looks amazing.
Wonderful to see you again Inga, you are looking really well, your holiday did you the world of good! all that fresh mountain air! Loved all that you have made, especially your colour work jumper, looks really warm! I have had a tussel with my sock, the heel mainly but I was determined to conquer them! and i think i have now, i make mine on Chiaogoo 9" circulars , and though I have quite large hands, i am used to them now and they knit wool up quickly. All the very best next week in your new field, sounds really exciting, good luck with the decorating. And I think most knitters have passion for yarn and have a hoarding tendency!!! it is a affliction that goes with knitting! Look forward to seeing you again soon. Suze. x
I so love your podcast! Just found you two weeks ago and will go back to the beginning! Yes to stash diving and stash enhancement! I love your yarn selections! Simply fabulous! 🐑❤️🐑❤️🐑
Inga! It's so nice to hear about your experiences in medicine in Norway. I live in New York and I am about to take my medical college admission exam (2 weeks!!) and it makes me so excited to start medical school when I hear about you! And it's great to hear you still have time to knit as a doctor :) stay safe!
I found your podcast after it was recommended on Knit My Way Home and I can't wait to watch all of your videos. I travelled to Norway a couple of years ago and came home with a suitcase full of yarn and beautiful memories. I can't wait to go back! It was fun to see you knitting with Briggs and Little yarn . . . I live a couple of hours from their mill so it's my local yarn of choice.
Your sweater is lovely with splashes of color in the yoke and your version of the ranunculous is wonderfully light and airy and gorgeous color! Glad you are pleased w your career change.
Thank you so much I really enjoyed listening to you while I was knitting 🧶 on DPN my first pair of socks! Love all your knitting 🧶 especially the rustic yarns! My colours! You’ll be well on in your new job! I wish you well! And best wishes for your future! I’m from North East of UK 🇬🇧just across the North Sea! Love the music! Keep well take care! Xx 😘 a
I always enjoy seeing your knitting projects!. I'm sure your grandmother is going to love her new socks! It will be fun to hear how you like OB/GYN! Good luck this week! (Thanks for sharing all the video from your skiing with your family! It looked fun!)
Love seeing Norway…so much like Canada (where I am)! Your knits are so gorgeous and so inspirational! Trying to get my niece in med school to start knitting much younger than I did by introducing her to your channel.
I absolutely love your colorwork sweater. I especially like the bright pink. You are an amazing knitter. Good luck with the new job. I hope it is exactly what you're looking for.
I wish you the best of luck in your new job and also in your de-clutter! I did that last spring because we remodeled our kitchen. Quite a job! Your color work sweater is stunning. I am knitting something exciting...finally got the courage to cast on your Shelby Cowl. I have ribbing finished and four rows of color! I’m loving it! Thanks for your encouragement. This is my first color work.
Enjoyed knitting with you! I love the ending of this video, knitting with a view! Skiing looks like allot of fun, but it's far from me! We rollerblade in south Texas! No snow down here! Take care!😊
Takk for ny episode. Likte ekstra godt at du tok inn noen innslag der du sitter og strikker og at dere er på tur. Gir så fin avveksling. Lykke til med flyttingen,
Hello Inga! Happy to see you again ! That felted beer mitten, wow! I think my son would love that ! I'm knitting Night sky from Heidi Kirrmaier. I have never knitted a sweater with a yoke, so I'm learning a new technique. I used to knit on straight needles, but after a year of watching podcasts and a lot more time on my hands, I've decided it was time to learn new techniques. Happy knitting!
Loving the idea of a Kauni shawl along. I have plenty left from my Selbu cowl. Lovely podcast as always Inga. You do pack in a lot to your life. Busy busy 😍
Ob/Gyn is ideally hands off and only in emergencies hands on. I hope it is a good program you attend that offers that insight and the chance to learn to watch things unfold, too. Sadly, many ob/gyns are not allowed to learn that. It takes a lot of knowledge, cool and compassion to be ob/gyn.

All the best in your new job you will b so lovely with the patients I had a very bad experience in gynae as a patient age 16 and it upset me for life beautiful knits
Your lopi sweater is fantastic ! I am also addicted to the Ranunculus pattern, and you are right, the way to change the size is just by changing needles and gauge. It is also great in light cotton for summer.
The best way to fasten the pom pom is to put a large flat button inside the hat, pass the elastic loop through and around the button. It allows for removal so the hat can be washed and the fuffy pompom maintains its integrity.

One skein mohair sweater sounds tempting - it just happened that I've got one ball of powder pink mohair and no idea for that. Your round yoke lettloppi looks awesome. Great podcast, amazing landscapes. There are not many people identifying with your pity that snow is melting :-) but I understand you. I wish I could spend a week in those area you're skiing :-)
