wow im suprised you could do that so easily so much better than 2 carbs well unless ya know how to work on them LOL
I agree. Simplicity is what I was after, but I ended up with 1 cylinder being prioritised over the other which was fouling plugs like crazy.
I put it down to manifold design. If I was to do it again (which I most likely will) I will be fitting a KJS manifold.
@@mattfranco8715 don't bother... Been trying everything to fine tune my single carb setup and its just not the way to make it reliable ... Yes more torque at the bottom but Sparkplug will always end up fouled.
nice video but it doesn't look any where near as nice without the covers on does it
As in the standard airbox and the fake cover? Yeah they look pretty sweet but I preferred the simplistic look tbh.
En mi Virago 1100
Way too low idle. Asking for the cams to seize due to lack of oil been pumped upwards. You will get away with it for a while. Loosen one of the oil pipes at the top and see the different amount of oil that is pushed up between 750 rpms and 1000 rpms.
Yeah absolutely, the single didn’t stay on this thing long at all.
Ended up with twin VM36s
Or get this: Turn up the idle screw.
i have $100 bet not a single video of that running well, is out if there is please send me the link so i can pay him his money (not just idle but idle to full throttle in one cut) this is a real bet
Haha, I made a second video on it. Couldn’t get it to run good. I put it down to the manifold design. It was fouling the rear cylinder
@@mattfranco8715 thier is a lot I would like to say but just can't it doesn't work and that's enough for me if anyone else thinks they can do better I have a 1992 that we can try it on you pay all the installation cost
Anyone that Can tell me why people do this?😊
The look and to simplify the bike
I think I explained it on my video pretty well. I was after simplicity. I didn’t care about outright power etc. the bobber was always going to be a camping, cruising bike that I could fix easily. But I guess to a degree I can eat my own words because it was NOT simple to tune. I still blame the manifold design but never confirmed it.
Your set up is all wrong on your carb
Yeah mikuni Oz later confirmed that. I fiddled for awhile and fouled a bunch of plugs but the manifold 100% prioritised 1 cylinder over the other so multiple issues. I’ll try a single carb again but on my cafe racer I reckon. But this time I’ll design and fabricate the manifold myself.
@mattfranco8715 if you turn down the accelerator pump a little and adjust the accelerator pump to spray even between the cylinders it will make a big difference
@@cleancutstudios that carb didn’t have an accelerator pump.
@@mattfranco8715 Sorry about that. I thought that it did, but that's how we do the T M 40-6
Any idea what size jets are in it? I have the same carb and engine size and can’t get it tuned to save my life.
22.5 230
Will this work for a 1983 750 virago?
Yeah the carb kit will still work for your model.
