    I’m a fabricator and collision repair man. Life long. I think you done a great job! It’s never as easy as they say. Lol. But thinking it thru, trial and error, keep the drive you will find a way to fix it. Nicely done!

    WOW! The new rear bumper looks sharp, and very functional too

    Your right about the standards. 05:12 Australia is more safety conscious compared to the US thus the extra mounting points on the bumper. No good having a bumper get ripped off when towing.

    Ah yes, the "hitch drag." I know it very well on my 3rd gen 4runner haha

    The only way you can have the hitch option and keep high clearance is cut the rear crossmember out. It's doable and has been done before but will be difficult because the longrange tank you have mounts to that said crossmember.
    I have same model Cruiser and looked into doing a similar high clearance bar myself. But found there's not much to gain if you want to retain the tow hitch and longrange tank. Does look cool though.👍

    Fantastic video. Love that rear bumper setup. Looks perfect on your Land Cruiser!

  • @gwot

    On some of the Tacoma bumpers they have the hitch tucked up integrated into the bumper (behind the license plate) so it doesn't stick out under it. maybe relay that to Coastal so they can just simply cut a square and weld up a hitch receiver in there, or DIY!.
    No bumper hitch is ever rated, cuz it requires testing and certification = extra cost. Take a look at how the bumper is mounted, most are mounted in multiple spots on the frame it should hold up to the factory tow rating, they just can't legally say it. Also if it's a weld it yourself bumper, they can't be liable for your weld quality.

    0:42 I didn't know you could get a GXL 100 series in America. I thought it was a Australian thing. 🤔🤯
    Edit: After watching the video further I found out it's a Aussie Cruiser, also saw it was RHD. 😁👍
    Also just found the channel today.

    As a LC100 owner I'm enjoying the content, just subscribed. Looking forward to more off road adventures. it can be a bit annoying sometimes as a LX470 owner when I find out that an item reviewed doesn't fit on the LX as opposed to the LC so kindly mention us LX owners in fitment and reviews please.

    • @OverlandLady
      @OverlandLady  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This bumper kit fit both LX470 and the LC100! I was surprised how a Canadian company have products for a model that doesn’t even sell in its market (LC100). Luckily the LX equivalent got some attention

    • @OverlandLady

      It's just spring helpers. Cuz my rear is very heavy with a full tank of fuel in the Longranger, and now even more so with the steel bumper. It keeps the car leveled

    Keep welding please. I personally like gas better flexes instead of break. Temper? idk the science it's just more durable. My local steel yard will cut and drill from a crude drawing. If you showed up there they'd fall over themselves to cut you a bumper/bonus roll bar custom plasma cut anything you can dream of. You're a hot shark among old trade fish. Put down a solid weld? Just saying powerful shit for the older guys in the boys club of creating from steel. Gas goes good on cast iron too burn old impure out. Hebron Detroit it's a solid tourch but lacks a home

    That bumper is beefy!!! How much does it weigh? People should understand as soon as you start adding armor, bumpers, winches, swing-outs, etc...you are going to have to modify your suspension for sure...and get used to a lot less MPG...or KmPG (looks like you are in Canada? ) ;-)

    • @OverlandLady
      @OverlandLady  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      didn't weigh it yet. Pretty sure lots lol. I have spring helper air bags in the rear so that's keeping the end meet for now. Yes the rig and I are in Canada now.

      @@NigelNaughton waiting for border to open.... btw the bumper alone is probably around 120lb. Weigh the raw material before welding around 110lb

    this seems like a lot of work just for a bumper, tbh id just take the rig to a shop and have them fab one up from scratch. your paying for a company to basically just miscut your bumper it seems.

    • @OverlandLady
      @OverlandLady  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanted to be more involved in the project. It comes down to about the same cost for buying a preassembled bumper if not welding yourself.

    Just found your channel. I came to see a beautiful girl and I'll stay for the knowledge you have , that is extremely sexy and cool . I would love to go overlanding with you. I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two. As soon as you started talking in the into the adventure video I knew that you knew her stuff.l don't care if someone is purple and has 9 heads ,as long as they know their stuff and NOT AN Ahole to people. That is the person I want to hang out with. Have fun out there stay aware of your surroundings. It's sad to see dumda$$es have to spray paint rocks out in nature that are not gang related at all.
