I'm 64 and I have tears streaming down my face. Getting caught up in the narrative, wishing the father bear didn't have to travel for his job. They did such a great job at animating these bears. You just feel the emotions they sought to portray. That and my fiancé's mother just passed away the other day. Guess I'm going to be teary for awhile.
Since I moved to the U.S. over ten years ago, Heathrow has become a bitter sweet place for me. It's the place of joyful reunions and tearful goodbyes and so they've done a great job capturing the essence of meeting up with family again in these commercials. Well done!
Jezza T. Something that I enjoy doing at airports is seeing those mixed emotions in the airport. People laughing, crying, worried... you can tell how they feel by just looking at those faces and I think that is what it makes us human beings. I asked lady sitting next to me one time and she said she is eager to see her family for long time. ❤️
I think this rates as my favorite holiday ad of all time. Charming story and animation, one of my favorite Petula Clark songs, and a cameo by Petula herself! Well done, Heathrow!
Pure Genius. Lovely concept and attention to detail. I think London Heathrow have outdone everyone for a Christmas short here with It's a Wonderful Flight. Reminds me of what used to be enjoyable about flying.
I enjoy watching this advert, I think about this Teddy Bear advert when I'm travelling by Heathrow Express in between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport.
I adore these adverts, but honestly i wish they never turned into humans at the end. It's so much cuter to pretend there is actually a family of bears running around Heathrow.
Love this ad reminds me of driving from Bristol to London Heathrow to pick up my mum and dad from Athens, my father passed away in May after a long illness so all of Terminal 2 has been rebuilt and changed so much, if I took up my nephews they were always so happy to see them coming out will loads of bags.
Absolutely excellent advert, and so well made. That really was Heathrow in 1967, or how it looked. BOAC (RIP) was called BOAC Cunard at the time. The aircraft is correct (VC10), the vehicles on the tarmac are correct, and the arrivals hall really did look like that. The travel bags, the bus, the uniforms. All perfect. WELL DONE!
rosshilton Im surprised they had small cameo of Trident from BEA. Funny that British Airways formed by merging two carriers and you see BOAC and small bit of BEA’s Trident. 👍🏼
The change in time is so well displayed in the ad. Last touch on British Airways Boeing 787- 9 G-ZBKG is lovely showing changes in time between VC-10 and B787 and the change in the arrival boards.
My ex and I met 1997, and worked for B A. I lived in the states, and commuted back and forth Unfortunately died in 08. I saw the time change to 1997....our first Christmas together....and I although I was already tearing up...that sent me into full on waterworks. Lovely and tremendously bittersweet. Thank you Heathrow and B A. It hit my heart like nothing in a long while. Happy holidays to everyone this year!
LOVE LIVE LOVE THIS ONE !!! I watched this on my phone in L.A. where I live !! A very well done commercial & a great concept !!! Bravo ~!!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍😃😍🌲💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🎁💕💞
For those that will say I went on a diatribe, indulge me if you take the time to read my missive.. With Christmas 23 days away, again Heathrow makes a wonderful advert... it pulls at my heartstrings. I haven't been on a trip home for a very long time. I used to go so often. I always use Heathrow, as I once used to always use BOAC, BA. This is definitely the time of year where you miss loved ones that have gone before us, yet have left new family that I remain close with. I simply must go; it's not a matter of not wanting to go, it all been down to health. I'd need a plane bed.. it puts the opportunity more out of reach. I pledge to myself... I will make it home once more before cancer takes the opportunity. I don't believe there's another nation on this earth.. no matter how long they've lived away from the UK that does not still have an endearing love of our magnificent country/ies.
The wonderful bears have done it again - the best Christmas advert of 2017 by a clear mile. Totally delightful, and the little nuances of expression (I love the way the lady bear gives a little shrug of her shoulders!!!) are fantastic. Even better than last year's - unbelievably. Move over John Lewis, the Heathrow bears RULE!!!! (And thank you to the person that spotted Petula Clark in the ad - made it even better...)
Fucking hormones. This advert make me cry! Being 43 with 3 grown kids who are all away at uni and a 20 year marriage that’s as dead as my soul and being in menopause makes my hormone-addled brain cry at things like this! What a beautiful advert ❤️
How bloody cute is this eh! I got sad for a minute there n then had a cheesy grin on me gob🤣😊🤣.. we all loved our bears as kids ... so this is really cute!
HaHa absolutely love this with the bears. Heathrow is such an interesting place and mostly everyone has been at some point with memories of going away or picking someone up! Wonderful advert 💙 💙 💙
I met a loved one for Christmas at Heathrow two years ago, it was everybit as magical as this wonderful advert. We don't speak much now, so i'm welling up at this advert, so emotional
This just popped up on youtube and I love it, but wish they had remained bears -- teddy bears are always cuter than humans. And I NEVER would have noticed that Petula Clark was seated on the plane if someone hadn't pointed it out in THEIR comment (thanks and good eye! -- I love helpful, POSITIVE comments).
And 10 years from now that old couple may well be dead or in an old folks home and forgotten about. Cherish every moment folks. Time is cruel but marches on relentlessly. :-(
Wonderful....and the song would not be there, if it weren't for dear Jackie Trent, who wrote the song. Best British voice of the 1960s..and onwards. Thanks Jackie!
why am i crying so much watching this ad
Леся Калениченко same story here 🤔
Same...! So heartfelt...
Same!! I cried too.. its so sad and so sweet at the same time. looved it
Listen, this thing is making me cry like a baby

Do you go back often since.
I'm rewatching this every year. It doesn't go old in the slightest. Absolutely adorable advert😍

Great Ad. Beats any of the retail adverts this year by far!
I enjoy watching this advert, I think about this Teddy Bear advert when I'm travelling by Heathrow Express in between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport.
Heathrow, I luurve you so much and miss you so much x your "Bears" are beautifully humanised, just so adorable x
This is absolutely still the best Christmas advert ever makes me cry every time I watch it
How wonder that Petula Clark who is sing the song is in the plane with him. Lovely little touch
I adore these adverts, but honestly i wish they never turned into humans at the end. It's so much cuter to pretend there is actually a family of bears running around Heathrow.
Oh yes :-)
They did that last year.
As far as I'm concerned they just cut to a family of humans dressed the same, and the bears are still there ;)
Jessifiy I agree
The bears must be knackered getting through Heathrow airport bless them x
How wonderful to have used Petula Clark's song, but did you also notice her sitting as a passenger at the 40 sec mark? 😊
Marty Bender I did, very classy lady!
That's just bloody brilliant, that is
Hi what is the name of the song? ?
"I Couldn't Live Without Your Love." Oh, and Petula recently celebrated her 85th birthday. Still going strong!
Met her a few years ago when I worked at the airport, lovely friendly lady, no airs and graces. Still got her boarding card!
Well done Heathrow commissioning such a fabulous advert. The creators have done you proud.
Outstanding advert. Love watching them.

“Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport.” ❤️
By far the best Christmas advert yet!
This is my favorite Christmas advert. Keep up the good work, Heathrow! I hope to visit your lovely airport someday!
is fantastic to hear petula clark reminds me the old dayes
Just one word BRILLIANT.
Finally a good Christmas advert this year
The first time I saw this was on our local T.V. station in Hamilton Ontario Canada. It brought tears to my eyes.
Love this advert! Made me very emotional
Absolutely excellent advert, and so well made.

They used the aircraft from the British Airliners Collection at Duxford
How wonderful . Marvelous advert and a stunning beautiful genius vocal from the wondrous Petula

My ex and I met 1997, and worked for B A.

Nothing better than a VC10 and a song from Petula Clark.

Superbe et très émouvant mise en scène de ces personnages avec la sublime voix de PETULA CLARK :)
Gorgeous
Wonderful....and the song would not be there, if it weren't for dear Jackie Trent, who wrote the song. Best British voice of the 1960s..and onwards. Thanks Jackie!
