No complaints about my blue dial version except for the sharp crown guards that you mentioned. I didn't encounter any problems with misaligned indices or stiff bezel. I replaced the bezel insert with a Pepsi that was for the skx009. It fit perfectly, and I got a stellar skx009 homage. Since I got a blue dial version, I didn't encounter any problems with dial being the wrong colour. In fact I think that the dial looks even better than the oem Seiko. Lume is amazing. Best lume of all the watches in my collection. I ordered an oyster style bracelet and I was very happy with the look. For the price, this is unbelievable value and the construction and workmanship is excellent. So basically other than the sharp crown guards, it was pretty much perfect. Would definitely recommend
I was just about to add this very model to the cart but something told me to watch a few reviews before I hit the buy button. Glad I did, because this is the second review that mentions the sharpness of the crown guards. I think I'll hold out for the LIW ISL-02. Thanks!!
I think the ISL-02 is absolutely worth the extra money! I own the ISL-100, it's absolutely awesome! Lume is not as strong as Seiko, but it's good enough. And the ISL is 100% compatible with bracelets made for the SKX.
I had and sold the heimdallr monster. It looked nice, but it had very sharp crown guards as well. It had a wobbly bezel, and other sharp points on the case. For $150 I expected more. I bought a Citizen Promaster NY0040 black dial, with hacking and handwinding and I love it. Applied indices and ink black dial. The Long Island watches I do not like the logo and date at 6 o clock. Citizen can be found for cheap in Europe
Great review! I had all these complaints as well on my Sharkey. I also had an issue with the case back being too “rough”. Throughout the day I’d have to take it off because it would make my wrist red or itchy because it was a sort of rough textured feel. I’ve since sold my Sharkey
it's a pity they don't make or sell a ceramic bezel insert where all the numbers and indexes are lumed instead of just a pip as 12 o'clock (like in the Islander ISL-02)
Excellent video comparison however I disagree with you regarding the colour I think the blue looks absolutely amazing. But everything is personal preference. I have the same one but in black and none of these things seem to trouble me I absolutely love the watch and after watching this video I now want to buy the blue one as well. Thank you
Yes, the color preference is completely subjective. Interestingly, the blue dial looks beautiful on video, but in person it's completely different. It's a really weird thing!
10:39 I search a lot in youtube for this Heimdallr with blue dial. It is like a dark blue. I have some divers watches with black dial and I'd like to buy a cheap BLUE option. I like a lot the Orient Mako II blue dial but it is expensive for me
Siamo obiettivi...
The Islander has a different dial though. Also, I'm sure that the Islander is sourced primarily from China with the same Seiko NH36A movement. As to the stiff bezel, I feel your pain on that. I sent my Hydroconquest in for service a couple of years ago and had the bezel replaced (it was terribly faded) and the new bezel is an absolute bear to turn. I hate it!
Thanks for the video. I wanted an SKX after they became discontinued so I bought a Heimdallr AND a Steeldive, hoping one of them would be decent, and they're both quite good. My Heimdallr lume pip is very smooth and the bezel turns easily (I'd assume a real SKX turns even better though). The crown guards were very sharp so I used a file to dull them down. I like the steeldive a little bit more.
Heimdallr is awesome for the money! I just got an Orient Ray Raven 2 and I'm planning to repurchase the blue one as well. Orient offers so much while being very affordable!
You know i have a couple of diver watches yet this is very well built watch in my opinion, imagine if Seiko used such materials like cnc clasp, ceramic bezel insert and sapphire how much would they have charged instead of 150 usd after wearing shit grade aluminium bezel Samurai k versions with 500 usd price tags. Thank you for video anway. I'd pay an extra 100 usd if they have used Miyota 9015.
@@engineercave007 I have had spb051 before selling it for Eterna Kontiki Chronometer. There was some diashield coating on it yet far away from being compared to ceramic, imagine those are 800 usd watch of Seiko with very unstable 6r15c. Will never buy Seiko again. Maybe Citizen Promaster automatic for daily use but not Seiko.
The orange dial is the best, and the problems are minor they can be fixed easily the bezel will were in over time. And you can't beat the movment! Yes the watch is built in China but the movment is a seiko nh36 which you don't get in a skx007 the watch band build is 100 times better quality then the seiko.. seiko is a premodona relying on there name alone in 5 years the Chinese micro brand watches will over take the market with there build quality new movments and fair pricing! Look at the pt5000 movment it's Chinese but built to Swiss specifications, but I really think you should have bought the orange dial rather then the blue the sharp edges can be easily buffed out with a Dremel tool...
That's my point. Heimdallr is technically better, but I still prefer the SKX for the reasons I bring up in this video. The shark logo is absolutely awesome btw.

Happy to hear that you like it! Awesome watch for the price!
File them

Yes, the updated Citizen NY0040 is awesome!

Heimdallr skx007❤ фантастические часы, они гораздо лучше Seiko!
Yeah Heimdallr is great! I'd still pick the SKX though!

Seiko and Citizen is another level
From all the videos I've seen I don't think that stiff bezel is the norm.
Update . Mine turns really easy . Great value watch.

Yes, the Islander has a different dial, but the case is exactly the same (as far as I know), which is more important for me.
Thanks for the video. I wanted an SKX after they became discontinued so I bought a Heimdallr AND a Steeldive, hoping one of them would be decent, and they're both quite good.

Is the ray raven not mineral crystal ?
Will the skx bracelet fit on the hiemdallr?
Didn't try, but I heard somewhere it doesn't.
This fellas got a severe case of buyers remorse it ever i heard one hey?

The Heimdallr is an absolutely fantastic watch for the money, indeed!

I really like my Citizens: NY0040 and BN0211. Can recommend them!
Why don’t you just upgrade the movement in the skx? It’s very easy to do.
I hear you mate, I'm lazy 😄
This Heimdallr still has a lot of flaws. And you forgot the little misalignment of the date in addition. That's a lot in the end... :)
Yes, and Seiko is sadly no (or not much) better.
