    Cool vid, I wasn't aware of the ammonia from bacter ae. I only dose a grain of rice size amount every other day. I also have sl aqua magic powder and millione but haven't used too much, just on new setups.

      That's the perfect amount to dose. Thx for the comment

    Great video. This isn’t available in the states but I use Dead shrimp powder which works very similar

      oh yes! thanks for the support and kind words, tai cheng's dead shrimp powder works quite well also, and it's in my rotation of poweders to dose my tanks! thanks for that!

    They are all good with a small dosage. I am enjoying the Kallax balls. The shrimplets always have a good source of food and don’t need to compete with the adults when feeding pellets.

    I have used both and work well. I noticed you use a thin layer of soil. Do you vaccume your soil or rake it to avoid building up?

      Hi there, I'm still experimenting with the thin soil method, before with thick layer I didn't vacuum, but I might give it a try with the thin soil method and report back. How about you, do you vacuumed it?

      @@grantmurphy7893 I was just discussing this with a buddy last week and in his sula tank after vacuuming his tank, his shrimp was much more active. So I'll be testing this theory also. Thanks for asking and sharing

      @grantmurphy7893 I didn't but I would give it a try to see. On theory it would make a difference but it can stress out the shrimp

    I have been using magic power from Sl-aqua as an alternative and it works quite well, do you know it?

      Yep that's the same company as aqualex enzyme powder, just a older version. Sl aqua and aqualex are the same company

    Hi Ray, Can we use Bacter AE & SL Aqua Magic Powder alternating in the same tank. Does one interfere with other.

    • @RWAquariumPages
      @RWAquariumPages  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've personally done it without issues, but I've read not to mix because the bacteria strains interfere with each other

      @raagm79 thanks for the kind words and support. What I usually do is feed them a tiny amount 1x per week and rotate with 3 types of bacteria powder, the other one I use is beninachis bee max powder

      @@MyAdventurr personally, I use a coffee grinder with fish flake foods and dose a small scoop every 3 to 4 days and the walls are full of biofilm afterwards

      @@MyAdventurr Ah i do it the old fashioned way... fingers! Put some in a bowl, break it up with your fingers, job done. It doesnt have to be a fine powder, its actually better if there are some larger particles in the mix as you'll see when you feed it. Adult shrimp love it and its great for baby shrimp too. I feed a decent amount every other day (my tanks are highly populated and it gets devoured pretty quick) and dont be shy with the amount you feed, it disappears quickly! Another little tip, bogwood. Its the best thing for growing biofilm on so makesure you have some in your tanks.
