Tia's prob best known for 'Waynes world' Or some of her tv shows... If you want more arnie, You've plenty to choose from! I'd say try a cameo of Conan in 'Sonya The Red' a great action adventure! Or a classic like 'Kindergarden Cop'. Or If you want something spy esk.... Try the old BBC adaptations of 'Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, SpyTry' & 'Smiley's People'. Or if you dont have patience for TV Try 'The Matador'. First thing i saw pierce brosnan in after he played bond and i swear its what bond would be like if he retired!😉
The scene where she is pulled from the limo via helicopter was so iconic, that year at the Oscars when Jamie Lee came out to present an award, they lowered her down onto the stage with a prop helicopter in the black dress...screaming 'Harry!' It's on YT and pretty easy to find. And YES, she actually did that stunt in the movie herself. She is a total badass!
I don't know if either of you ever watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but if you have, you might recognize the actress who played Dana. That was Eliza Dushku, who played Faith from Buffy's third season onward.
Eliza Dushku, who played the daughter Dana, is huge in the "Whedon-Verse." She was prominent in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and the later the protagonist in the much under-appreciated Dollhouse.
@@commonstragedy I also heard that during the scene where she's hanging on to the plane, and they turn it to drop the bad guy she broke a rib when she slammed into the side of the plane.
Fun fact: That bit where Arnold drops the recorder while Jamie is dancing wasn’t in the script. Arnold got so flustered by Jamie’s performance that he dropped the recorder and the director kept in the final cut.
Bill Paxton is probably the most affective supporting actor of all time. From Weird Science, Aliens, Tombstone, and this movie, his character portrayal is iconic! RIP Bill Paxton, we will always remember you.
30 years later. Can you believe it? A lovely piece of work by the great James Cameron. The first-ever $100 million budget in film history and an remake of a French short film from France called "La Totale!" (1991). Bigger than average and that worked like a charm. It's exactly what it's suppose to be. The laughs and thrills are on the same level. Arnold personally wanted Jamie Lee Curtis at top billing as the lead actress. Because her character meant as much to the story as her husband's did. The studio changed their tune pre-release and did put her name with Arnie's. She also won a Golden-Globe for her performance. The late Bill Paxton in his 3rd film with both Cameron and Schwarznegger, him as Simon the fakea** was quite the performance. Also the late, great Charlton Heston as the boss of the Omega sector resembled classic Nick Fury (homage to Marvel). Prior to this film, Cameron was originally involved with Spider-Man becoming a film which had the industry losing their minds. There was gonna be a True Lies 2 as one of Schwarzenegger's last films in a planned retirement from the lime light. It was cancelled because of 9/11 and all the things that affected Hollywood films in the aftermath. Cameron & Schwarzenegger would reunite for the direct sequel to T2, Terminator:Dark Fate (2019). True Lies was a short-lived tv series, one season (2023) on CBS. I wasn't into watching it because nothing was more awesome than the movie itself.
Tia Carrere, I remember her for the TV show she starred in, Relic Hunter. She played a modern day Indiana Jones, a University professor of archaeology, who jets of every episode to find ancient artifacts.
FYI, when Jamie was doing the dance and lost her grip on the bed post, that really happened. They stayed in character and it was just too damn good to cut out.
When Tom Arnold was saying his ex wife took the ice cube trays he was actually referring to his real ex wife Rosanne Bar. She took the ice cube trays in their divorce.
Love Abby’s reaction. Yes JLC was hanging below the helicopter. When told about it she asked Jim Cameron,”oh, and where will you be?” To which he replied “strapped underneath another helicopter filming you.” “Okay, I’ll do it.” Harry/Arnold didn’t fly the plane-movie magic. Stan Lee moment is a cameo, it’s a head of visual effects. 9/11 halted the sequel.
JLC wasn't pulled out of the limousine, but she indeed was attached beneath the helicopter. In fact, they had to secure her first, then fly several miles to the actual filming location.
When Tom Arnold was talking about his ex taking the ice cube trays, he was talking about his real ex wife Rosanne Barr taking their ice cube trays when they split up.
I enjoy True Lies for the blend of humor and action. Abby, your reaction through all this was priceless. Toy, the look, the smile you had as Abby was watching this was equally priceless.
Tom Arnold, when he says the Ice cubes line is taken directly from personal experience. He was married to Roseanne Barr, and she did exactly that. He related this to Jim Cameron and he loved it and told him to work it into the scene.
This is one of the best action comedy movies ever made. You should also check out Spy Hard, Top Secret, Spies like Us, and Fletch (and the sequel, Fletch Lives).
IMO, this is Arnie's all-around best picture, with the cast and everything. Humor, adventure, romance ... more humor ... it's so good. Probably his #2 for me would be "Total Recall."
I absolutely love this movie!! And I’m with Toy on this one, True Lies is one of my favorite Arnold movies. If you want to see more goofy Arnold, please check out The Last Action Hero. And if you guys want to see more of Tia Carrere, check out the Wayne’s World movies.
This is a remake of the French film La Totale. Jamie Lee Curtis is also in a handful of the Halloween films, A Fish Called Wanda and Trading Places. Tia Carrere is also in Wayne's World and Lilo and Stitch. If Abby hasn't seen them, I recommend watching Twins and Kindergarten Cop. I also recommend watching the Netflix series FUBAR. This has the same composer as The Terminator, Terminator 2 and T2: Battle Across Time. The fighter jets used in this are U.S. Marine Corps Harrier jets
26:35- 26:43: This film originally had Tom Arnold(actual stand-up comedian and actor), be set up as the comic relief(and he technically was throughout the film)-- but honestly it’s Jamie Lee that brings most of the comedy. If it wasn’t for Curtis’ duo performance being the film’s real comedy relief(and whose role provides most of the dramatic impetus), this film wouldn’t have been as entertaining or as good as it was.
I was in the Keys when they were making this movie. They used a crane to hold the Jet and sections of the old bridge were already missing for the van to fall off. Santa
This is one of those very few movies that I will just start watching if I see it playing. I mean if I'm walking to the kitchen and someone is watching it in my living room I'll literally stop what I'm doing so I can watch it.
Tia Carrere was the voice of Nani in "Lilo & Stitch" and I've also noticed you have a Stitch pillow in the background. The part when Helen was dancing in the hotel room, she genuinely slipped from the bed post and fell to the floor. This was a complete accident on Jamie's part. Arnie in the background almost got out of his chair to go and see if she was OK but Jamie just got right back up again and carried on like a true professional. I think it was a good idea to leave it in because it added to the clumsiness of the character.
Toy, Abby, Tia Carrere as an archaeologist here led to her starring as a bad-ass heroic archaeologist in her TV series ‘Relic Hunter’, a Lara Croft-like heroine. From 1999-2022, all the episodes are available on TH-cam.
Great show! Tia Carrere is in Wayne's World and a whole slew of other movies. I love her in the show "Relic Hunter." It's campy and stupid but I love it anyway! She also played a villian in something I watch... hang on, let me IMDb her... Blue Bloods! You may not know her in that, but I bet you might know her as Nani in Lilo & Stitch. I'm a lilttle old for that movie and totally clueless about it, but some of my younger girl friends really love that show and they all tell me I should see it because it's a really cute flick and IMDb says she's the main person in it so there you go. In the helicopter scene Jamie Lee Curtis and Arnold Schwarzenegger their wrist will wired together so that she wouldn't fall The stuff was actually done for real between the two of them
When I was a kid in the 80s, I remember a show called "Scarecrow and Mrs King" it was about a spy and his wife, a lot like this movie but with less expensive stunts 🙂
Abby if you want goofy Arnold, then some great movies that the channel should react to are Jingle all the way, Twins, Junior( in both of these last 2 he co-stars with Danny Devito🤣) Eraser, and for another great Arnold comedy where most of his humor actually comes from being so deadpan serious in my opinion is Red Heat, in which he co-stars with Jim Belushi.
The thing about Jamie’s character is that she didn’t want to have an affair. she wasn’t seduced by him sexually, she turned down his advances. She just wanted to do some spy work, she wanted to do something meaningful and exciting.
37:05-37:22 So, funny story. That WAS Jamie Lee hanging off that helicopter. Doing that stunt was a birthday present from the director James Cameron. 😅
The Harrier used in this movie was later used in the first Avengers movie. It is now owned by the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, Illinois. Another good spy comedy would be Get Smart.
Not lying, in video games community especially in call of duty type games when we all trash talk for fun "as like a ten year old boy" still gets used today in gaming community lobby lol its so fun.
Toy & Abby Arnold's Harry's boss was the iconic actor from the Golden Age of Hollywood, Charlton Heston. Heston had a long career in acting from Ten Commandments to Ben Hur to original Planet of the Apes. He died in 2008 at the age of 84.
@@MrTech226 🤢🤮 I do not like Soylent Green Sam I am, I don't like it when it's tall, I don't like it when I'm small, I don't like Soylent Green at all!
I'm gonna post the same comment on this one that I posted when Hannah and Tori watched it. Those who want to judge me for it, judge away..... so a little real world explanation on the runaway Ingram: while the scene where it falls down the steps and shoots all of those terrorists is exaggerated for the sake of Hollywood story crafting, the genesis of that malfunction is based on a real life design flaw in the mac-10. It fires from an open bolt which has to proceed forward to strip off a round from the magazine and then the firing pin causes the round to fire. Unfortunately, enough of a jolt to the reciprocating cocking lever on the top of the weapon can cause the weapon to fire on its own, so that dropping the submachine gun can fairly easily cause an accidental discharge. I suppose the idea behind the stair case shenanigans was that she dropped the weapon and the charging handle was bumped multiple times to keep causing the weapon to fire and at least some of the rounds went in to the area where the terrorists were approaching. The other part of that equation is that the mac-10 has a VERY high cyclic rate, around 1200 rounds a minute, meaning the weapon would most likely be empty halfway down the stairs or even earlier.....TMYK
The "I married Rambo" line had more punch when the movie came out. Back then, Stallone and Schwartznegger had a good-natured rivalry about who was the top action hero in movies. They would frequently reference the other, snidely, in their own movies.
"I identify with Helen in this film..." 🤣🤣🤣 Helen fumbling the Mac-10 and wiping out a group of terrorists by accident is top notch action comedy. James Cameron made this so funny! Another spy couple comedy - Undercover Blues, with Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid
she is also in another cop comedy that a LOT of people haven't heard of called Hollow Point (the one from 1996), with John Lithgow, Thomas Ian Griffin, and Donald Sutherland. IT IS HILARIOUS!! I highly recommend it.
You gotta watch Wayne's Wold with Tia!!!! This is IMO one of Arnold's very best: great cast, great script, great direction, amazing over-the-top action, some really solid comedy and a wonderfully sleazy Bill Paxton just sprinkled in for flavour.
Fun Fact that bathroom had some rubber urinals that worked so when the guy gets face planted in one if you watch for it you can see it deform down with the impact.
I am convinced you guys have not seen Jamie Curtis in "TRADING PLACES". Or Jamie's REAL LIFE PARENTS , Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis in "THE VIKINGS" wIth KIRK DOUGLAS the father of Michael Douglas.
There's a 1999 horror movie called Virus with jamie lee curtis. It got a 5/10 on imdb. I haven't seen it in forever and from memory It's not the best movie but it's not the worst I've seen either.
"Sneakers" fits the bill of a comedic spy movie! I wouldn't call it a comedy exactly, but it's got a light tone and colorful characters. Think more dry and witty than big laughs. Also: heists! It features Robert Redford, Mary McDonnell, Dan Aykroyd, Sidney Poitier, and River Phoenix (!).
Ladies, a little respect for one of the greatest actors of all time, a genuine STAR who was headlining big epic blockbusters for literally decades, Charleton Heston.
Abby wants spy comedies, so she gets spy comedies...Mr & Mrs Smith, Red, I-Spy, Austin Powers trilogy, Central Intelligence, Knight and Day, Miss Congeniality, Red Notice.
0:41 "I Love Jamie Lee Curtis, Famous From 'Freaky Friday' " Hey Abby, you should also react to the original "Freaky Friday." which starred Jodie Foster

The scene where the bridge gets blown up by the Harrier jets is real. The U. S. Marines demolished the old Key West Bridge that was being torn down.
The close ups are her, and it's also Cameron himself holding the camera but the wide shots and when the limo drops are her stunt double.
Tia Carrera was also big in Wayne's World.

Great reaction. Spy (2015) with Jason Statham and Melissa McCarthy is a hilarious spy comedy, you'll both love it if you haven't seen it yet.
Toy & Abby
Arnold's Harry's boss was the iconic actor from the Golden Age of Hollywood, Charlton Heston. Heston had a long career in acting from Ten Commandments to Ben Hur to original Planet of the Apes. He died in 2008 at the age of 84.
Ans when Charlton Heston asked Cameron why he was chosen for the role, Cameron responded "We need someone who can intimidate Arnold."
@@MrTech226 His movie the Omega Man was the SHIT!
@jamesmcclain5005 Soylent Green, apocalyptic future when food resources are dwindling in the world....awesome movie
@@MrTech226 🤢🤮 I do not like Soylent Green Sam I am, I don't like it when it's tall, I don't like it when I'm small, I don't like Soylent Green at all!
"Get Smart" also a funny spy movie.
The whole team should get together to watch Wayne's World 1 & 2.
Hard To Believe it's been 30 Years Since This Movie Came Out Time Flies
Tia Carrera was adorable in Wayne’s World.
You guys are great. Discovering the best movies from the 90s.
Thanks for your kind words and for watching with us!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
♥️
My monster-in-law not only took the ice trays, but every single light bulb in the house when she left her husband
Best reaction to this movie, thanks!
Thanks for watching with us!
A very funny spy movie is Spy (2015) starring Melisa McCarthy and Jason Statham
I loooooove Melissa Mccarthy!!!! And I know tori loves Jason statham 😍😍😍😍
Upvote.
Thumbs up just for the musical intro with the horns. lol
my specialty 🤌🏼
The "I married Rambo" line had more punch when the movie came out. Back then, Stallone and Schwartznegger had a good-natured rivalry about who was the top action hero in movies. They would frequently reference the other, snidely, in their own movies.
"I identify with Helen in this film..."
🤣🤣🤣
Helen fumbling the Mac-10 and wiping out a group of terrorists by accident is top notch action comedy. James Cameron made this so funny!
Another spy couple comedy - Undercover Blues, with Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid
I like Dennis a lot! Hopefully we can watch this one on the channel
@@abbyygross I'm not a big fan of his opinions nowadays, but his old movies are still solid 👍
Tia is in a buddy cop movie, I think you will enjoy, Showdown in Little Tokyo.
she is also in another cop comedy that a LOT of people haven't heard of called Hollow Point (the one from 1996), with John Lithgow, Thomas Ian Griffin, and Donald Sutherland. IT IS HILARIOUS!! I highly recommend it.
I’m just waiting for Abby to be introduced to Will Patton. She will never keep 90s character actors straight again.
😂😂😂😂
You gotta watch Wayne's Wold with Tia!!!!
This is IMO one of Arnold's very best: great cast, great script, great direction, amazing over-the-top action, some really solid comedy and a wonderfully sleazy Bill Paxton just sprinkled in for flavour.
Dear Abby and Toy; Arnold’s best comedy is Twins; do a reaction ❤🎉😊
would love to!!! i think it’s on the list ❤
@@abbyygross "Only their mother can tell them apart."
@@abbyygross cool
That movie is sooo fun! I know Abby will love it!😊😊❤✌🏽🤘🏼

That's why we make reaction videos, because we've not seen a whole bunch of movies. 😸
There's a 1999 horror movie called Virus with jamie lee curtis. It got a 5/10 on imdb. I haven't seen it in forever and from memory It's not the best movie but it's not the worst I've seen either.
The sequel was in the works but after September 11, 2001 James Cameron scrubbed the movie because making a comedy about terrorism didn't seem right.
Would've been one of his last films.
He was planning retirement at the time.
Knight & Day is pretty good fun!
Ladies, a little respect for one of the greatest actors of all time, a genuine STAR who was headlining big epic blockbusters for literally decades, Charleton Heston.
The Wayne’s World movies are Tia Carerra movies.
Abby wants spy comedies, so she gets spy comedies...Mr & Mrs Smith, Red, I-Spy, Austin Powers trilogy, Central Intelligence, Knight and Day, Miss Congeniality, Red Notice.
Don’t forget Spy Hard with Leslie Nielsen

"I Love Jamie Lee Curtis, Famous From 'Freaky Friday' "
Hey Abby, you should also react to the original "Freaky Friday." which starred Jodie Foster
Lohan & Curtis.
Returning for FF2.
omg i would love to!!! i may do this one on my tiktok live, not sure how it would do on the channel, lmk if there is anything else you wanna see. ◡̈
After seeing this reaction, I so think Abby would love Mr and Mrs Smith film.
I recommend Abby watch "I Spy" and "Spies like Us"
yesss!! adding them to my list!
"spies like us"...
