Chess, but the King is a Knight

- What if the king could only move like a knight? It would be a lot more slippery, but also could be attacked close-up without being able to do anything. It gets pretty interesting...

3:47 bro missed a free rook and queen😢
I cried when I saw that AND I'm only 1500 that move was obvious
@@Yet_93 400elo and that’s pretty obvious
Yes it’s a free rook but the queen is not free because the knight on d7 can block
@Michelle-mz8yq if the knight blocks you just take it get a free knight as well . The king can't take back as it moves like a knight
Fun Fact: In the 'First form Of chess' 'Chaturanga' instead of castling the king *only once in the entire game* was able to move like a knight, only once though.
???
where did you get that from
cap
No it's true. That's how the "Indian" openings started

2:50 m2 😢
Yep... had to search it a little but it's definitely there
I wonder what this, but with a rook instead, would look like? Not like rookmate, but king replaced with rook.
Wait is scholar’s mate a good opening here? The f pawn is so weak
8:03 its always satisfying when I'm playing you and you say things like "I'm stuck" or "I can't really do anything" or "this position kinda sucks" because I'm like yes that's what I was going for.
But you don't always get what you were going for. I'm pretty sure there were situations where you think he's stuck while he feels comfortable about the position
In some variants the other regular knights are swapt out for kings thsmat can be taken
he found the variant editor :D
Does that even exist?
@@adri_4032yea, just go to variants and scroll down
I like these variants, you should start doing it with other non-normal chess pieces too, for example, the dragon bishops?
😂that would be fun fr
But I think 🤔 royal pieces must be relatively weak
@@Chess_universe2wazir or ferz?
Thursday get 1 of the rarest checkmates Thursday, July 4 AKA independence day For the United States The check my checkmate I got was a pawn under promotion checkmate I am the promoted to a rook
Is a normal king even better. It is the same number of squares. It'd be interesting to see knight-king vs normal king.
The knight king will be able to check the normal king
3:56 did you miss a free rook
In fact, it's mate in 2 even.
What about chess without Kings? Please check out Centurion Chess.
Huh im in this
i don't think castling is a good thing here, you're just giving your king less options
