I came up the idea for double-move chess once. The necessary fix is that the moves must be done with _two different pieces_ (everything up to 0:54 would be legal, but moving the same piece twice in one turn is not allowed).
I've played this variant a few times with my dad, and I call it *binary chess.* In addition to the two-different-pieces rule, here are the others I've devised:
    * Pawns may promote as usual, but likewise must wait until the next turn to move again.
    * If a player cannot legally move two different pieces, the game ends by stalemate. This includes positions where a player is reduced to a king and immobile pawns.
    * Stalemate is a 1-point win for the player who stalemates their opponent. Checkmate, timeout, and resignation are 2-point wins.
    * Check is called in one of two situations: when a single move could result in a king capture (like in normal chess), or when both of a player's next moves could result in a king capture by a discovered attack (i.e. it is possible for a rook, bishop or queen to check the king or block castling without a direct line of sight).
    * If a player cannot evade check with both of their moves, the game ends by checkmate.
    * Castling works a little differently than before, and typically requires both moves:
    * A king may move two spaces horizontally on his first move. Moving the rook on the same turn is recommended, but not required. (You may move a different piece, but this often traps the rook in the corner.)
    * Any other piece (rook or queen) that moves during the castling turn is allowed to pass through the king, provided that it also hasn't moved before.
    * The second piece does not need to finish its move adjacent to the king. It may move to any square it can reach on the first rank, as if the king were not there.
    * Castling is not allowed if the square that the king moves from, or passes through, is controlled by the opponent, even if it is only controlled by a discovered attack.
(This nerfs castling a bit while giving it some extra buffs.)
    * If two pawns move two spaces on a single turn, capturing them both _en passant_ is legal, provided that two pawns are in position to capture them.
    * It is possible to block _en passant_ by sacrificing a piece. If a pawn moves two spaces and a piece moves on the same turn to the square it passes over, the 6th-rank pawn would capture the piece and not the pawn.
    * As before, white moves once on the first turn, and twice on every other turn.
For the sake of clarity, I use 'move' to refer to a single move (half a turn), with 'turn' referring to both moves.
I haven't worked out the rules for insufficient material yet, but most of those would probably be 1-point wins.
Feel free to play this game on your channel. I'd love to see more people play it. :)

Maybe try multi-capture chess? Each time you capture a piece, you can move that piece again, and repeats until that piece's move is not a capture? I never tested it that much so can you test it? Kind of like checkers

Play a double move game where the first double must be a pawn and the second must be a piece. If you can't move either then you pass that move
