We slept a few hours in our 4WD in the Sahara Desert of the Tiris Zemmour Region, Mauritania. Our hosts decided that we slept in the desert last night after getting bogged down for the umpteenth time and still could not find our way out from the sand dune maze. This is the morning after, and Gerak Darma's team can finally see that we are surrounded by sand dunes. One of the vehicles is still bogged down, and we should be able to drive out from the loose sand soon. We need to climb the sand dune and try to see our way out from these sand dunes and back on the Desert Highway to Sfariyat. With the clear morning sun, we should be able to see the path out of these dunes from the top of it. Time to get this convoy moving again.
