The photography is beautiful. The music is brilliant. The narrative is captivating. Thanks for this wonderful storytelling video 🔥
♥️♥️♥️
Absolutely incredible, not the usual camera review video but a piece of cinematic art
Thank you!! I’m not really one for tech specs so I’d rather share experience, glad you enjoyed!
Glad to see you are back, you are my absolute fav photography and cinematography channel on YT. I love the idea of gear minimalism as opposed to suffering from GAS ^^
Ah so nice to read that! I’m definitely a “less is more” person. Would rather have one camera I use all the time than 5 I barely touch
beautiful film one of the best i've seen on youtube whilst researching the M11
Welcome back and congrats on your new to-be born 🙌🏻
There are 3 channels that I impatiently wait for their uploads:
Kyle McDougall, GXACE, and YOU.
So, I'm very happy to see you back..
Beautiful images, as always
Thanks so much! The baby is here now and she’s doing great :). I appreciate you man!
soo good!!! the intro is my favorite part! straight out of a movie!
makes me wonder, where will youtube go from here!
Ah thank you!
😃
This is absolutely brilliant. Nicely done.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed ✌🏼
Great camera. Great video. Great colours!
welcome back, you have been missed, still think you have the best looking b-roll on youtube
Well that’s wonderful to read haha. Thank you Lee! ✌🏼
Stunning video!
I have a Leica M11 myself and I love shooting with it. I never had this much fun taking photos :)
I loved it! Would snap one up in a heartbeat if I could 😍
Glad you`re back Jack!
Good to be back ✌🏼
This was a mesmerizing watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just picked up an M11 myself after much debate on it, a Q3 or something much cheaper. I can hands down say the M11 is the best digital camera I've ever shot with. No argument. It truly feels like the first digital camera made by a photographer for photography and not a corporation trying to be the next best thing. It's the purest feeling I've had taking photos in a long while and it's inspiring me to take more. Echo a lot of your sentiments and great job on the video.
Completely agree! Thanks Olaf ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Very interesting video and a pertinent question. I wonder whether the M11 has already gone a few steps too far. I shall now watch your other videos 👍🏼
Thats probably the best intro I’ve seen on TH-cam
🌝🌝🌝
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for checking it out
@@PhotoCinematica Thank You 🙏🏼 2
Finally, I see someone who has a silver M11 🥳 Awesome video and damn good photography. Well done! 💪
A polished presentation. The imagery, music and voice over all work very well together.
Thanks for watching :)
great photography, even greater videography
love it! can't wait to see more!
Big up Ed, appreciate you man
This was great! Got an m10 and this week i bought a 50 cron. There are few videos on the lens out, would love to see your take on one. Best, Egil
Funnily enough I’m thinking about picking up a 50mm cron at the moment. 👀👀 thanks for watching!
Superb cinematography, Leiteresque photography, what more could you ask for. Thanks for bringing some colour to my otherwise beige breakfast (wheatabix).
Wow that’s very kind! Nothing wrong with a bit of wheatabix! Haha
Such an epic video from start to finish. Thank you for this!
Appreciate you friend! ✌🏼
Magnificent!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thanks friend!
Incredible. Instant sub.
Appreciate you friend ✌🏼
Superb edit as always. 👌 "where will camaeras go from here?" most M11 go straigt to the repair shop i guess :D
Oh no haha 😆
Incredible video! Extremely well put together. It makes me want to watch over and over again
Thanks a lot man. Probably took me longer than I hoped to make this one but happy with how it turned out 👍🏼
Inspirational video! Superb work
Thanks for watching ✌🏼🌝
2:01 the back to back edward hopper shots are incredible
Unconsciously inspired by Hopper!
Great video
Thanks for watching! ✌🏼
I have the M8 and I agree with you, the M8 is pure photography …super nice video btw
I’d love to try the M8 one day! Thanks man ✌🏼
I have tried and own a lot of cameras. I bought an M8 to try out Leica. It was love at first sight. As you say, it's pure photography and the image quality is stunning. I now have two M8 bodies, a spare one😊
I sold my M8 to help finance my M11. It’s awesome.
I loved the video. I couldn't figure out in which parts of the video you used the Black Promist 1/4. Do you recommend the black promise more than the glimmerglass?
I didnt use a diffusion filter for any of these 😁 I haven’t actually used the Glimmerglass but I’m thinking of getting one
Beautiful video! I can’t imagine not using an M for my work.
What a content!!!
🌝🌝
Did you do it all in your own? Filming yourself doing pictures etc?
@@f__e__e__l__e__e__p I have my friend and talented filmmaker Lawrence helping me shoot the footage of me taking photos. The rest is produced by me :)
Had the exact same experience with the M11 when i had it for a week. Still checking my bank account daily ... might just get it one day :) Great video!
Thanks Christian! Good luck :)
@@PhotoCinematica same to you. Did you order already? :)
@@christiananderl not yet, I think we might have the same bank account :). Maybe one day 🌝
@@PhotoCinematica haha, seems they at least got something in common ;) Might end up beeing the M12 then
This was very well done and enjoyed it a lot. Subbed!
Big up Derren!
Excelente
Thank you friend!
Whats your go-to focal length for the M11
I’m usually a 35mm guy but recently feel like 50mm might be more my tempo for general street work. 35mm for everyday life 👍🏼
@@PhotoCinematica nice, 50mm on the M11 is smooth.
I have to say that’s so true. I’ve used a Fuji xpro 3, and it’s one of the very few cameras out there still with an optical viewfinder….while as nice as it is, it simply can’t compare to the M camera. Have to squint and strain to look at details whereas the M camera is just massive, bright, and like an IMAX presentation in front of your eye. Have you had any issues with the m11? Also, do you think an m11 new would last for at least 8-10 years?
Unfortunately this was a loaner from Leica and not a keeper 🥲 but I used it for around 4/5months last year and had no issues. I also can’t say for certainty that it would work for you for 8-10 years but I don’t know if you can say that about any camera. Really depends on what you shoot and what you need out of your gear. But it’s definitely a solid choice 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
wonderful! great work
Thank you friend! Glad you enjoyed it
I have lots of digital cameras, all kinds, and I like all of them. If I got a Leica M11 ... sure it would be nice, but it’s just another camera.
good stuff man
nice production
Thanks for watching friend!
I just subscribed, you sir, are brilliant!
Welcome!!!
Oh man I missed you!
Good to be back
I am sure Leica is happier than hell with this commercial, which, is much better than the Budweiser guy in a dress commercial. But I digress, it is the photographer that uses the camera to make the images, not the other way around.
How did you find the magenta in the raw files
I can’t say I really noticed anything that stood out. But then I apply a basic preset that I’ve made over the years and it cuts out a lot of magenta anyway. If it’s something you’re wanting to find out more about I’d check out some other videos 👍🏼
@@PhotoCinematica yea once I throw my preset on it’s not an issue. Just strange it’s so red when you import directly. Lr adds 20 something to the magenta
Do you sell your presets?
Beautifu! But yes, price is the main factor, why I won't buy Leica, but not because it lacks functions of other cameras. I just wouldn't reach the potential of the camera and I don't have such a photographic eye. I still want the somewhat similar experience, that is why I settle with cheaper second hand options from Fujifilm.
Fujis are amazing too. Regularly have to talk myself out of the x100V
What functions do you need? The reason I ask is because once you kinda realize you don't need 90% of them, then the m11 makes more sense (not for the money, that is always a hard pill to swallow)
@@danporiginalibis
I dont know that Leica needs to go anywhere from here. They have a perfect lineup for their users: M9, M240, M10, M11. Functionally identical, skills transfer directly. So we can just pick the feature set we want. My flavor is M240, but i see the appeal for all.
Super nice video, as always.
Great Leica ad with all the topics about shooting with an M ("This camera makes you slow down and thinking about..." and blahblahblah). There's nothing you can do with a Leica that you cannot do with any other camera. And yes, I know what I'm talkin' about: I'm a Leica user (film, not digital: the real "slow down" experience).
Amazing production value in this video. Very impressive cinematic style. I find it really inspiring. How do you manage to make these videos? It looks like a ton of work. Getting the shots. I'm assuming you are using log footage? And then color grading? And then all of the editing. I would really like to do work like this. I have the money. I have the time. I have the camera gear and computer hardware to do it. I just got DaVinci Resolve studio. But I am so unmotivated. Thank you for the great video. Stuff like this does motivate me. Maybe I need to hire someone to use DaVinci Resolve so that way I can get going on my dream of making little mini movies and mini documentaries.
And I must complement you on your choice of music. It fits perfectly with the mood and the shots. Most people just throw some awful dubstep music over their videos. And anyone with a shred of taste can't stand dubstep.
Sounds like you have everything you need! These videos definitely take time but so fun to make. Thanks for your kind words!
If you want to get as close to film, why not just shoot with film???
I do 👍🏼
Good review jack we need some more subs you dirty animals man’s got kids to feed
😂😂😂 thanks for rallying!
using Anamorphic lenses for yt video is fukin crazy
Crazy good I hope haha
Great video, but it still cant convince me to pay 12k+ Canadian plus 13%tax … oh hell no!! However..! i would buy one at that price if it came with IBIS and a hybrid EVF. Then i will open my wallet. I will be happy with my z6 and m lenses until then which is great.
Look at the SL line of cameras
Your editing videos are the tits. Right up there with GxAce, just different.
Ah thanks so much. Big fan of his work so that’s a big compliment 🙏🏻🙏🏻
2:44 M11 Monochrome is the latest M body
Where will cameras go from here, you ask? AI, just like everything else.
Lovely video, well produced.
But for that combination you’re looking at £9,500. Out of reach for all but the rich and the ambassadors.
“Pure shooting experience…” Oh, but I use/need the screen. Er? 🤔🙄🤭
Sixty megapixels: but I soften the file and add noise (no, it doesn’t look like grain! Ex Monochrom owner here, btw). 😂😂😂
These are all my personal preferences. Others can use it however they want to get the result they want 👍🏼
@@PhotoCinematica Clearly, but this oft claimed purety thing re. Leica (digital) cameras is still laughable. Even my M8 wasn’t immune, screen, menus and all. Might be great cameras but inaccurate claims get a little tiresome, frankly.
using a leica won't make boring pictures anything more than what they are
That’s true
Nice content, but your big music is way too loud.
Nah, sounds fine to me through headphones
Good for me too
7.5k lololol
I gotta stop watching rich folks' photog channels. It's depressing. Buying a Leica for most of us is 100% unjustifiable, no matter how cool looking they are, not to mention the equally expensive lenses.
The music is a burden, far too loud and do not add to the subject which seems to be presented on a nostalgic way, silence would have been more appropriate. Beside that, the answer is "it is a false perspective", photography is what it is and will always be technically, "reproduction of light". Now what the industry will do, and I guess that was the initial question, probably badly because they make confusion between photo and video and carry on strongly through. Leica seems to be the only one avoiding this mistake, ; photographers don't need any gear "evolution" really, but there is always space to accomodate it to tastes & needs without changing the core. I guess this vision is why the video is on the nostalgic side of thing and rightly so !
So your argument for it being a ‘pure shooting experience’ is that it has an OVR….the same as every DSLR in the past 30 years? And that justifies a £7500 price tag?
Have you shot on a digital M before? It is hard to explain how it changes the way you approach shooting. I shot differently when I shot on my Hassy than my m10. I understand it's only for some, but once you realize you don't need all these functions 95% of the time, the m11 makes sense. You are buying the best glass in the world, arguably some of the best sensor/ color scenes, and a simple, clean design with less clutter.
All this for overpriced nonsense lol
