Definitely go with the urethane bushings. The rubber isn't very good quality these days (mostly Chinese/Taiwanese) and will perish quickly. I have all the Macy's kits for mine. Love them. I used all stainless on my TR6 from MMS Accessories but I don't know if they do the TR3 stuff. What carbs will you be using on your car? Personally, don't buy much stuff from VB. Mostly from the Roadster Factory and Moss or British Parts Northwest or Little British Car Co.
IMHO I wish i had gone over to Poly, the rubber ones on my Vitesse make it feel too wallowy (if that is a word) like Tush said the rubber is naf, feels softer that OEM when you dig your nail into it. Used to fit Stanpart/unipart back in the day. The Vitesse is coming back in for a little refit, and that is one of the first jobs, change out all the bushings, despite being quite new, The steering rack moves quite a bit on the rubber too.
Macy's is awesome-Mark is a great guy and provides great stuff at great prices. You can always call him for advice too. I buy most tr3 specific parts from moss and the roadster factory. Brand new su's are about 1400-what a great deal for you. Your old carbs probably work just fine-worse thing they might meed is a rebuild and rebush (see my video on that)
The SU carburettors were original to the car weren't they? What do you plan to do if you're considering selling those off? If you are determined to use something other than the OE carbs, then you're right that they can bring a decient price from others seeking to restore the cars that used them to original spec. Prices vary widely based on condition, but parts are still available from England (Burlein Systems) or from a few US distributors like Joe Curto in New York state.
Rubber parts for old cars pretty much suck now because the rubber sucks-spend extra for the better suspension bushings-you will feel the difference. I have 2 tr3's-not going to put rack and pinion on stock restore, but considering on my daily punter.
Yea go with the urethane bushings..Don't sell any of your spare parts until you have finished your car 100%..The amount of gear I have sold because I thought I wouldn't need it only to buy another car the same model and had to repurchase all the parts again..sigh!

I am going with urethane bushing on my Firebird and hope they are good. You got a good stock of parts built up for your TR.
