      There are so many variables to setting the hook. How fast is the run, what species to you think it is? How big was the bait? Small baits slow run, maybe 30-45 seconds, bigger baits around 60-90 seconds

      @@bobbyh177 Anytime brotha! That's awesome man, they are good starter reels but look to grab that next step up! They just don't put out much drag and low speed!

    I like to run two hooks in a large bait facing opposite directions. On a cownose I use the middle, cut both wings off and the tail a little past the tail fins so nothing can get caught in the current. I put a hook in the skin flap by the mouth and one by the edge of the butt, away from the tail/back cartilage. You get a way better hook up ratio.

    • @GulfCoastNation
      @GulfCoastNation  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard of guys doing that before!
      In our minds there is NO need for 2 hooks in a bait period. We get perfect hookups with just one!

      @@GulfCoastNation I've seen to many baits come back with a bite mark out of them. I'm on my 4th season and use to fish with about 5 guys most of the time. I refined my skills and consistently catch bigger fish then all them and catch the bigger fish then most the people in my area. Im dialed in and this year I'm gonna produce some Giants. But everyone has there styles and how they like to fish. Either way keep posting I'll keep watching.

    First, you are not at Pensacola Beach, you are at Perdido Key. Why you baiting for shark around condos where children swim?

    • @GulfCoastNation
      @GulfCoastNation  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Perdido is "Pensacola" due to address! Also we do not "bait" sharks we catch what is already there! We can tell you from expensive drone flights they are always closer than you think and that's not from small baits in the water for 15% of a full day!
      We can definitely appreciate where your heart is. Just missing true information!
