  • In this video I go over how to hook a shark bait the right way, when Land based shark fishing. When shark fishing from shore, anchoring your bait is often problematic, but I also provide a solution for this at the end of the video! Watch to see what happens this particular night here! bit.ly/2lMMf82

    that was a solid tip on rigging the weight to the bait and not the hook or leader!! You got bait when you got weight!!! Great tip, and something I never really thought of. I have been using spider weights here in texas. I may have to try this rock style weight if I can ever get my A$$$ back down to PINS!

    I have never tried the break away weight setup before. I always use heavy spider weights. No fun to drag them back in but it has been working for us. One of my friends actually just brings a new leader out and kayaks the line and pulls it up then just switches out the leader. The way you are doing it will have to be something I look at trying. I see the value in putting the brick at the end of the bait instead of hooked to the line somehow. Great video.

    • @LandsharkOutdoors
      @LandsharkOutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man and yes I went years with attaching the brick line to the mainline or hook, idk why lol. Attaching it to the bait is much more logical.

    Ok..ive been waiting to see yalls method for holding the baits out there. Based on that set up, Im going to assume that each time you bring baits in, the line attached to the rock breaks. So each time you deploy a bait, you are attaching a new rock as well, correct? No float set ups, or water bottle float markers etc to mark the locations of the sets for recovery, etc I assume.

    • @LandsharkOutdoors
      @LandsharkOutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No bottle or floats, you are correct. Each paddle equals a new rock or paver etc, unless of course your brick line does not break and you get your rock back. Fish 30-50lb line for the breakaway portion depending on current strength.

    Does the line ever rip out of the bait prematurely? So when even a small 4' it takes the bait is it able to rip it from the line or does it stay the brickline with headshakes?

  • @mtuers
    @mtuers 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would something lighter like 6# test work better for the brick line, as it will break from pressure more easily when the shark takes it, or is it a given that the brick line will touch the shark's teeth and get cut off, whatever pound-test the brick line may be?

Im getting into shark fishing and im trying to find a way to use center blocks as weights but i dont want to leave line out there like that. Maybe its not that big of a deal idk, but is there another way to do it without leaving line attatched to the rock
