@@duckified. I do the same and I agree it's the best you try the boss yourself too. Most of the time I manage to beat the boss on my own (although I have not tried the insanely difficult mods), and watch a youtube video to see how other people deal with them. One tip (That I should personally do more often than I actually do) is ignore everything outside a small 5-7 tile radius around you, expand to 10-13 when the attacks move quickly. It minimizes the amount of attention you need to focus on what's coming and the more you can spend on where you need to go.
I mainly focus on a cone shape that is between me the the sorce of the projectiles, and I try to not focus on dodging the projectiles, but rather on moving to spots that aren't in the line of fire of the projectiles
I just stop focusing on my character at all and just focus on the projectiles, the character turns into a blurry thing in the middle of the screen that I predict paths of were it should go.
A tip I never see anywhere that is HUGE for more fine tuned control of movement is using feather fall potions. They give you 3 options for changing vertical movement: hold up gives full slow fall, hold nothing gives semi-slow fall, and hold down is normal gravity. Allows for a lot more precision of vertical movement. I also like to get a dash keybind mod to give the option to dash without accidental dashing trying to make small adjustments.
An advice I can give: focus on your player's hitbox. It should always be the center of attention unless a boss is doing an attack that requires you to look at other things to figure out what's about to happen. Something I learned playing a lotta gungeon (especially against high priest) and carrying it over to another 2d game helped a lot
Bullet hell player here. This is a good habit to develop for Terraria, but basically only Terraria. I learned this the hard way when I first played Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom and got my ass kicked because I got tunnel vision on my hitbox.

One tip that I saw in your video that you didn't mention, is use the slime mount for quick downwards movement. While it's not that useful when you're surrounded, it's an amazing option for getting out of somewhere quickly.
One tip I have is taking advantage of calamities dash double-tap override, for infernum DoG I have it set to my right mouse button and it helps a lot! Also take time to learn boss ai, how it works and how you can manipulate it. Keeping an open and adaptable mind helps too. Overall a great video! I'm gonna use some of these in the future!
Glad to hear your input! Your tips are also very valuable, Infernum DoG without the dash keybind is pretty difficult. Thank you for your support and I'm very happy that you will use my tips!
If this does what i think it does then thats an amazing idea, i've had way too many deaths to accidentally double taping while trying to slightly change my position and ramming directly into a projectile lol
@@shadowthephoenix1 it makes it so you can only dash using a hotkey, meaning you can spam a or d without dashing and get pixel perfect positioning. Hope this helps!
@@YARDlS I use left shift for dash, it just feels really natural to me. I loved infernum DoG. My first calamity playthrough was infernum mode, and it was so much fun. DoG took me three days, but it sure as hell was worth it.
Oh, wow, I didn't expect you of all people to use W to jump. After the creation of this video, I found out there's dozens and dozens of use jump on W enjoyers. Anyway, it's an honor to see you in the comment section, very glad you found this video somewhat useful!
Alao another tip: try playing summon only, focus on the fight. It might take longer but it will help TREMENDOUSLY getting the pratice needed and the dodge details.
A W jump enjoyer, one thing I like is for some of the fights without a set arena is using the portal gun when dodging because it raises max fall speed and allows you to transfer between momentums just by holding it, props if you also use it use it.
i never would have thought to bind my jump to w, it makes so much sense, like, when are you even going to press w in a 2d game, maybe early game yea, but dam, it makes so much sense
Honestly thank you. I've been playing with my friend and I'm a little tired of getting carried lol. Been practicing offline, and this vid really inspired me and gave me a... fresh perspective. Well put together :)
Man I cannot say how much I feel that Bonus tip. The amount of times I've gone back to a boss with my scarlet devil just so they know how it feels is such a nice feeling. Can't wait to do the same in my infernum run.
This is very well put together, and I agree with these tips (sitting at around 8k hours). Something that helps me a lot is trying to control the boss. For example let’s say duke is about to spawn his tornados, I will drop to the ground, let him spawn them, then fly up to avoid the sharkrons completely. If you can dictate what the boss does and where is does it, you can already have a plan to dodge that attack and attacks after.
I'm glad such a Terraria Veteran agrees with my tips! I like your methodology, kind of "pre-dodging" in a way, knowing what to do before it happens. Being a step ahead of the boss is really a great way to completely destroy them.
Honestly, I agree with studying. When facing the Nameless deity for the first time, it took a while to learn some of the attacks myself. But attacks like his uh.. idk what it’s called where he summons a blade and dashes at you, that one, and the attack where it goes suddenly silent and the world starts tearing open and you have to have the reaction time of a fly to dash the opposite direction, I got those dodging ideas from a video on a no hit run of it.
Some of the fun comes from finding whatever suits your playstyle best for dodging. I'm more of a vertical type of guy personally so I've always been using King/Queen Slime's mounts (or other modded alternatives) for fast descents. For me, it really complements the wings' upward acceleration and can make for some interesting boss battles :D
I've been playing through Infernum as a rogue and I'll definitely use some of these! The tips aside, the video was really good! :D I'm a huge fan of the simplistic and chill editing style, and I think you really nailed it! Keep it up! ❤
I've been using W for jump and space to go up for around 7 years, though strangely I never thought it was particularly uncommon. Probably because it seemed so natural to me I just assumed that a good amount of people did it as well
I couldn't agree more with the 3rd practice method. In the past, I've overcome many no-hits ONLY due to watching someone's video and realising: "oh, i should use this mount here" or "oh, i should dodge this attack by just flying diagonally instead of doing random horizontal micro-movements". To be honest, I've never heard anyone rebinding their jump key in Terraria, so that came as a MASSIVE surprise. I'll definitely try that out whenever I'm hardstuck at some silly goober. Great video though, you should make more videos with talking.
I literally couldn't beat auroracles third phase from the starlight River mod until after I saw how someone else dodged it at that point of the fight so yeah, it can help
Thank you beeleav! I'm a big fan! A lot of people have been saying that they also rebind their jump key in Terraria in this comment section so I was starting to lose hope that maybe I was a bit special in that regard... Glad you cleared it up, that it is indeed uncommon to do so. Thank you for your kind words!
The watching video part is actually true, in my Infernum playthrough on Scal and Exo Mechs i literally just looked up a No-Hit and it becomes 100x easier
WE GOT THE DM DOKURO CAVE STORY SOUNDTRACK IN THE BACK 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥 Seriously, though, its good to know it is still remebered after all this time in the wild. Awesome video, too.
I dont know if it'll work for the harder mods, but I know in vanilla I found a VAST improvement in my dodging ability when I started using mounts rather than wings. Its ESPECIALLY useful once you unlock the infinite flight mounts; with one of those, I breezed through daytime EoL, which had previously given me a ton of trouble
Yep, for Vanilla Terraria mounts are amazing. But, I think in Late-Game Modded Terraria mounts are far too slow to use effectively, with the exception of the Exo Box.
Here is my tip, and the best part is that it works for any game, not just Terraria: Practice the boss *WITHOUT ATTACKING*. Focus on dodging and getting used to it. You can get 2 things with that, 1st- dodging becomes natural with time, so adding attacking to it is not hard, and 2nd- lets you calmly see any thresholds, such as how many times you can take damage before either healing or dying, when it's a good time to heal, vertical vs horizontal dodging, arena size. One thing I like doing is looking at what damage thresholds I am with a full warding set, and then slowly switching into some menacing, and as long as I don't cross any big lines, I can increase my damage without sacrificing defense
its really hard for me to beat most calamity bosses even just on death mode, mainly because my laptop is horribly slow and i get a disgusting amount of spikes and tons of keyboard delay, making it harder for me to dodge bosses even then, these tips do help a lot, thanks
Appreciate it my man , always kinda struggled with Moonlord and quit when I never beat them, but surprisingly never thought of practicing outside of the boss 😭😭 (gonna be on my training arc between boss fights fr) Bless you fr 🙏🙏🙏
Wow! Glad that I helped a bit. Yeah I had to really think about some "unique" ideas or tips, because most people will just tell you to "practice" and leave it there.
The key binding is actually a very useful tip. I've used to play a lot of touhou before my pc fried and I think I'm one of the very few people who plays touhou with a ps1 controller. Reason being that analog sticks are far more precise than keyboard keys when it comes to movement, and by configuring the focus key on L trigger I aways have it availiable quickly without tiring my fingers, also bombs in R analog for fast response as well. Now for terraria I can't wven play mpdded cuz I only have access to mobile right now, I beaten daylight empresz, guess that's ok, but I've used a bunch of post moonlord op stuff though 😂 it was not legit with zenith.
Darn, I hope you can experience modded soon! Completely different experience. PS1 Controller Touhou sounds crazy to me. I really love keyboard keys for movement, but your reasonings are very valid. I actually have a PS1 Controller lying around, so I might try it sometime.
@@YARDlS It must be dual shock model I think, there are simple ones without the sticks, those are not so good to use. I'm not pro or anything though, I don't do lunatic, I cap it on hard on most games. Well, aside from suvterranean animism which not awsys I can beat on hard and have to do normal 🤣
I just saw the intro. I would HIT EVERY single bullet at ONCE and DON'T even ask how that's possible because *I DON'T KNOW.* I mean literally the only way I beat moon lord is because my brother and I took turns being dead and being alive

Awesome! I've always wanted to do death mode dog with my friends but for some reason they don't want to practice the bullet patterns for 7 hours a day????? Anyways, I started trying it alone and this video will be of huge help! Thanks!
I don't know why but just how you speak and how you arrange your words it makes you sound like your extremely nice person, now doing that deserves you a sub
That's Noxus from an extension mod for Calamity called Calamity: Wrath of the Gods. It's a neat mod with two extremely high quality bosses, the other one I'll let you discover on your own...
Oh! I've done the jump rebind for years haha My up key is 'Q' so it doesn't conflict. I don't remember if 'Q' is anything else by default, but if it is, then I've also rebound whatever it was formerly. I've done something similar in Minecraft with the 'sprint' keybind because I feel like 'ctrl' is a bit far-I rebound 'sprint' to 'Q' since it's also right next to the 'move forward' key. (Drop is rebound to 'del', no more accidentally dropping stuff.)
the best tip guys is to re bind your dash key to mouse button 4/5 or right click (i use infernum's special boss drop trident, which has a long sensitive dash on right click so i its not a option there i guess) or a key on your keyboard that's fast for you to react and press while pressing ASDW (i highly recommend you don't use space, if you are a souls player on K and M you should probably already know that space is a terrible button for dashing/rolling in games) both calamity and helpful hotkeys have a dash input option
After being carried through a progression SHATTERED revengance playthrough with a friend. I’m currently trying infernum for the challenge I wanted and am definitely going to use these tips especially the studying one (currently on hive mind right now as of writing this btw that friend somehow got the biome blade and it’s upgrades WAY early still don’t know how)
Not the infernum DoG. I feel so called out on that. I excavated my arena TWICE just because I felt so cramped up in my old arena, but I still can't dodge for sh*t.
I like having my jump key on space bar, since it's convenient for fingers. I don't have to use my middle finger for 2 buttons, but I can use my thumb for spacebar and the other for s. Same thing in Trackmania, I use spacebar for brake instead of s or down.
One question I have is, how do you use voou? Like, do you use it until it runs out, or do you use the arena and keep flying just to change layers of the arena, or do you use some infinite flying accessory??
Alternative to jump rebinding: use the Witch's Broomstick. Seriously it is far more effective than slime mount, lets you swap your wings out for a more useful item, and is just an overall great item.
you have two choices 1: view this video 2:become crazy at point you do not touch your room door at 100 years because of simple training (this godamn video help me a lot)
The first tip was to simply take the game not as a platformer game, but as a bullet hell focused game like touhou's. It sounds stupid but it's easier for your brain to process "press up to go up" instead of "press space to jump." It's definitely trickier to do with just basic terraria gear cuz some of em are janky but it helps a ton when you start diving into modpacks like calamity or fargowitas When you get used to it, It works wonders with summoner's build. It's hard to do a clean run when you're playing true melee or rogue but it'll definitely be a lot better, especially against bosses with OHKO moves like the mutant from fargos souls
Great analysis. That's pretty much how I saw it too, I come from a bit of a Touhou background so having my brain process Calamity to have bullet hell movement instead of platformer movement just seemed better for me. And yeah, extremely janky to play with jump on W without good wings LOL
I do all this except the change equipment and practice steps (though I play the same 5 mods every time so might as well be practice...) this explains my random spurs of suddenly being the greatest Terrarian when it comes to dodging for all of 5 seconds and then get pummeled to oblivion the second time that attack comes around or I get some indicator that I actually no-hit for an entire however many seconds it takes for adrenaline to fill... Then suddenly I look like I haven't ever touched a computer before in my life... Good to know I actually have what it takes to no hit a boss once I perfect the equipment optimization step... _And perhaps play the game instead of watching one piece while randomly mashing keys._
To me it just sounds like you have a lot of potential! Really high highs is usually an indicator so. I think it's time to try out Infernum mode if you haven't and give it your all, only if you desire though.
For me infernum was on a similar difficulty level as death mode, but that's because it's a different kind of difficulty that I just so happen to excel at a bit
As someone who has played for a long time and finds most mods pretty easy, practice and doing play through that are a bit of your reach is the best thing to do to get better
Awesome video! It even made want to play Terraria again, I used to love it but my strategy was usually "I hope this time I get lucky" when I just needed to get good lol.
You say all these things are only things you do, but they make a ton of sense and seem super practical! I have never played calamity but i want to be ahead of the curve when i start :)
1:16 I always forget about space being the default key, I actually started playing with W on my first time because the windows 7 laptop had a broken space key, thing is that I never got used to mechanics that had up instead of jump as an input because of this though
the best tip I have is try again, I tried infernum DoG over and over for 2 hours while in call with some friends and they got to hear me slowly loose my shit until finally I beat DoG. I then came back later with my post endgame gear and killed him a few hundred times to get back at him
I have ALWAYS used W as a jump key in every other 2d game i have ever played and even after 100~ hours practicing and optimizing stuff while trying to beating expert mode blushiemagic i still somehow never thought of using it in terraria. great tip
i like the obstacle track training idea, its like boot camp for terraria, just imagine there is a loud drill sergeant screaming at you and/or put on some metal and watch them skills up!
I do rebind my jump/fly key to my sidebuttons on the mouse for very presice movements! Happy to see im not the only one that made this change ❤ Another tip i want to add for the nohitters is a practice course of platforms. You dip, hook back to the platform and with a timed jump you will not lose movement speed and 'fly' through the platform or make a lil jump. Keeping your mobility. With nice timimg you can 'force' a boss towards a movement. A cheesy 'dodge' if youd like 😊 This takes lots of practice as not every hook has same speed and lenght to perform it clean during the fight. If the jump is not perefctly timed you will be stuck on the platform. Losing all your mobility. King slime, EoT, Yharon, Fishking, Desert Scourge, Perfeartor worms, and others where you can make good use of this technique to 'dodge' charged attacks. Giving some nice open windows for 'free' damage where you dont have to worry 😊 Having your jump and hook rebound will work very well for this 'dodge' 😊
@@YARDlS yeah, it's definitely better than before, and she fells more substantial in a run now, where as she just kinda was there as not much of a threat and didn't leave much of an impression in runs
If you think about it, thees two types of bullet hells, the ones with patterns for every boss fight, and the ones that throw a hell of a lot of bullets at you from every direction and you just need to use the power of your mind to shrink your hitbox through gaps
I can dodge easily, if my only goal is to dodge projectiles. But if i need to dodge and attack at the same time, i am overwhelmed by everything that's going on.
As someone who's almost done with beating Fargo's Eternity mode as a summoner. I swear that once I kill Mutant I'm gonna bully the living shit out of him!
Id probably die a good few hundred times at this point as my last terraria playthrough was years ago (for calamity) but these sorts of things (other than rebinding) is what i used to do. Turns out playing the game for 7+ years and training movement for fun often is a pretty good way to become untouchable.
Great video,i started an infernum profile around 5 months ago but i took a really long break of around 3 months out of terraria,so my skill was basically gone but these tips helped a lot for me to get to my old skill, actually.Maybe even better than my old skill,Thank you Yardis
Dont be afraid to try the Sentry Class! You can get a full set of gear with only a few finished battles and that lets you focus on positioning with all your sentries stacked. You can run off screen without a worry, unlike summoners. You can completely decouple from actually staying anywhere near the boss, damaging it every time you run back through your arena. Summoners have to focus on managing how their minions fight, and stay closer than you'd think to be effective or their minions stop to chase the player. (Hint: To beat the Old One's Army Spam Lightning Aura next to the portals, only the minibosses and wyverns survive)
Amazing thorough comment! With your words, I think I might actually try Sentry Class out for real finally. I've always wanted to get around to it, you've managed to tip the scales for me.
@@YARDlS Too many people pass up the event since they cant fight it with their normal gear, despite The Old One's Army having some of the strongest gear in the game! It's not even hard, so long as you actually use the sentry class it was designed for.
FACE TANK For real tho, swapping w and space is a godly tip. Also you can use projectiles that deal less damage to activate i frames (depends of equipment) to dodge "VIP" or big boi attacks
I don't find spacebar difficult or any slower than any other key, but I'm using light weight mechanical switches; I just don't think it's a problem if you have a decent modern keyboard.

This thing is also amazing for Infernum Yharon. It allowed me to easily Ram-God him lmao.
DoG took me three days, but it sure as hell was worth it.
thank you! this was actually super useful, I thought I was the only person that rebinded their jump to W key, glad to see I'm not the only one hahah!
Oh, wow, I didn't expect you of all people to use W to jump. After the creation of this video, I found out there's dozens and dozens of use jump on W enjoyers. Anyway, it's an honor to see you in the comment section, very glad you found this video somewhat useful!
hi gitgud!! me too lol

Oh yeah... I forgot that's even a thing! That's a great strategy as well, going to have to test it out sometime.
i never would have thought to bind my jump to w, it makes so much sense, like, when are you even going to press w in a 2d game, maybe early game yea, but dam, it makes so much sense
Honestly thank you. I've been playing with my friend and I'm a little tired of getting carried lol. Been practicing offline, and this vid really inspired me and gave me a... fresh perspective. Well put together :)
Glad I could be of help! I used to be the "noob" friend too, if that draws some inspiration.
Man I cannot say how much I feel that Bonus tip. The amount of times I've gone back to a boss with my scarlet devil just so they know how it feels is such a nice feeling. Can't wait to do the same in my infernum run.
Haha, going to be super satisfying to do it to the Infernum Bosses.
Being a step ahead of the boss is really a great way to completely destroy them.
but that's boring n stuff going in between the sharks is cooler
@@exquisicy5429at some point shit is so difficult you have to squeeze every advantage you can get. Though maybe not duke necessarily
@@dinoaurus1 yeah for a modded boss with crazy attacks fair but duke fishron is a little sweaty for an already easy to dodge boss
I was just doing an example cause I did not want to think about modded bosses lmao
Slimy Saddle best mount 😎

Bro I actually have been using W as my jump key and Space as Up ever since I started playing the game 6 years ago. Finally someone I can relate to!
If you look in the comments section, there's dozens of us! I too swore I was the only one!
I've been using W for jump and space to go up for around 7 years, though strangely I never thought it was particularly uncommon.
Probably because it seemed so natural to me I just assumed that a good amount of people did it as well
FINALLY. the 🐐's secrets are revealed.
buddy… you are NOT as big of a Yardis fan as I am… stop trampling on my territory you amoeba level organism. 😾
the rebinding of jump to w is actually so useful
Glad you think so!
Beeleav, fun fact I've had jump rebound to W for the past 7 years
The watching video part is actually true, in my Infernum playthrough on Scal and Exo Mechs i literally just looked up a No-Hit and it becomes 100x easier
Glad we drew the same conclusion!

Can't let such a beautiful album to be forgotten 🙏
I dont know if it'll work for the harder mods, but I know in vanilla I found a VAST improvement in my dodging ability when I started using mounts rather than wings. Its ESPECIALLY useful once you unlock the infinite flight mounts; with one of those, I breezed through daytime EoL, which had previously given me a ton of trouble
Yep, for Vanilla Terraria mounts are amazing. But, I think in Late-Game Modded Terraria mounts are far too slow to use effectively, with the exception of the Exo Box.

Here is my tip, and the best part is that it works for any game, not just Terraria:
Practice the boss *WITHOUT ATTACKING*.
Congratulations on the 1K subs, and thanks for the tips
Thank you!
its really hard for me to beat most calamity bosses even just on death mode, mainly because my laptop is horribly slow and i get a disgusting amount of spikes and tons of keyboard delay, making it harder for me to dodge bosses

I actually have a PS1 Controller lying around, so I might try it sometime.

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2995193002
Calamity Noxus Boss, made by the same dude responsible for most of Infernum 😎
That's Noxus from an extension mod for Calamity called Calamity: Wrath of the Gods. It's a neat mod with two extremely high quality bosses, the other one I'll let you discover on your own...
I like how the last tip is basically just:
"Spite is a great motivator, channel it"
I’m right there with you man, every time I load up a new terraria game, the first thing I always do is rebind jump to W, so you’re not alone
I am glad :)
Oh! I've done the jump rebind for years haha
My up key is 'Q' so it doesn't conflict.
(Drop is rebound to 'del', no more accidentally dropping stuff.)
the best tip guys is to re bind your dash key to mouse button 4/5 or right click (i use infernum's special boss drop trident, which has a long sensitive dash on right click so i its not a option there i guess) or a key on your keyboard that's fast for you to react and press while pressing ASDW (i highly recommend you don't use space, if you are a souls player on K and M you should probably already know that space is a terrible button for dashing/rolling in games)
both calamity and helpful hotkeys have a dash input option
Step 1: Install invincibility mod
ADDENDUM: Oh
Technically you weren’t wrong, if you’re invincible what is dodging? Especially if you just phase through everything.
i love to see these then remember my pc explodes on vanilla terraria
After being carried through a progression SHATTERED revengance playthrough with a friend. I’m currently trying infernum for the challenge I wanted and am definitely going to use these tips especially the studying one (currently on hive mind right now as of writing this btw that friend somehow got the biome blade and it’s upgrades WAY early still don’t know how)
Best wishes! I hope you have a ton of fun with Infernum :)
Not the infernum DoG. I feel so called out on that. I excavated my arena TWICE just because I felt so cramped up in my old arena, but I still can't dodge for sh*t.
I recently started a calamity run and I'm new to playing on pc but I will try to keep your tips in mind❤
Witch's Broomstick eventually becomes too slow for some bosses, but I agree, it gives you total control over your character.
you have two choices 1: view this video 2:become crazy at point you do not touch your room door at 100 years because of simple training (this godamn video help me a lot)
Glad I was of help!
The first tip was to simply take the game not as a platformer game, but as a bullet hell focused game like touhou's. It sounds stupid but it's easier for your brain to process "press up to go up" instead of "press space to jump." It's definitely trickier to do with just basic terraria gear cuz some of em are janky but it helps a ton when you start diving into modpacks like calamity or fargowitas
When you get used to it, It works wonders with summoner's build.
@@YARDlS I keep forgetting that mod exists and my last playthrough was literally a calamity playthrough!
For me infernum was on a similar difficulty level as death mode, but that's because it's a different kind of difficulty that I just so happen to excel at a bit
As someone who has played for a long time and finds most mods pretty easy, practice and doing play through that are a bit of your reach is the best thing to do to get better
Also i may be the only person in this world that has always played Terraria pressing W to jump since 1.1. I hate jumping using Spacebar in 2d games
The bonus tip actually carries.
😎 The only tip that matters.
Finally, Touhou guide

How to become an Undertale fan:
YESS!! Finally someone who understands that jumping with W is so much better
1:16
I always forget about space being the default key, I actually started playing with W on my first time because the windows 7 laptop had a broken space key, thing is that I never got used to mechanics that had up instead of jump as an input because of this though
I've often said modded Terraria is like touhou with a crafting puzzle in between bosses.
Completely accurate description.
the best tip I have is try again, I tried infernum DoG over and over for 2 hours while in call with some friends and they got to hear me slowly loose my shit until finally I beat DoG. I then came back later with my post endgame gear and killed him a few hundred times to get back at him
As someone who just builds a tanky loadout to eat damage with good movement to limit the damage, and a solid weapon, this is useful.
I have ALWAYS used W as a jump key in every other 2d game i have ever played and even after 100~ hours practicing and optimizing stuff while trying to beating expert mode blushiemagic i still somehow never thought of using it in terraria. great tip
Thank you! Yeah for 2D movement it just makes sense to use W instead of space.
i like the obstacle track training idea, its like boot camp for terraria, just imagine there is a loud drill sergeant screaming at you and/or put on some metal and watch them skills up!
Haha that would be sick! Swear someone screaming in your ear enhances practice.
I do rebind my jump/fly key to my sidebuttons on the mouse for very presice movements! Happy to see im not the only one that made this change ❤
Another tip i want to add for the nohitters is a practice course of platforms. You dip, hook back to the platform and with a timed jump you will not lose movement speed and 'fly' through the platform or make a lil jump. Keeping your mobility. With nice timimg you can 'force' a boss towards a movement. A cheesy 'dodge' if youd like 😊
This takes lots of practice as not every hook has same speed and lenght to perform it clean during the fight. If the jump is not perefctly timed you will be stuck on the platform. Losing all your mobility.
King slime, EoT, Yharon, Fishking, Desert Scourge, Perfeartor worms, and others where you can make good use of this technique to 'dodge' charged attacks. Giving some nice open windows for 'free' damage where you dont have to worry 😊
Having your jump and hook rebound will work very well for this 'dodge' 😊
Great input! Thank you for adding on, your information is very valuable. A lot of people underrate the importance of hook skill.
Just wondering, if you have any particular thoughts on the recent rev+ Plantera rework.
I think she feels more "fair" (no more bouncy balls). I quite like it. I'd say it's a very successful rework.
Agreed, this is why I find summoner to be the best overall class.

Id probably die a good few hundred times at this point as my last terraria playthrough was years ago (for calamity) but these sorts of things (other than rebinding) is what i used to do. Turns out playing the game for 7+ years and training movement for fun often is a pretty good way to become untouchable.

(Hint: To beat the Old One's Army
Spam Lightning Aura next to the portals, only the minibosses and wyverns survive)

FACE TANK
For real tho, swapping w and space is a godly tip.
Glad I'm not the only one who swaps up and jump w is just so much easier to press
you just got me into playing the game again damn
