one of the tips i like to give to my friends whenever i play multiplayer is "stop moving", since a lot of people who are bad at dodging (conciously or unconsciously) enter a state of panic, especially when at low hp, where they just keep running and dont actually focus on the projectiles. granted this style of play works for most vanilla bosses and even a lot of modded bosses (most notably Exo Mechs) so its kind of hard to actually convey unless we're fighting something like providence, where moving too much will kill you very fast, and even then a lot of my friends took this advice very literally and just fully stood still.
Haha, too relatable! In one of my first Death Mode Calamity runs with my buddies, we hit a hard wall at providence because of what you just said. Everything else was fine until Scal, which we again hit a wall because we panicked a lot during the old one shot bullet hell phase she had when she was still an eyeball.
I gave the same tip to my friend A LOT during our Death mode DoG fight, and throughout the playthrough we had too. He was always like, "HOW THE HECK ARE YOU SO GOOD AT DODGING" and he was supposed to be the veteran here. Me: *stop moving* especially during the projectile grid attack of DoG (since he struggled with that alot). Doesn't even have to be done with a mount, just a regular platform will do.
My main tip would be: practice by not attacking the boss and let it does its attacks. Try to spot any consistent or repeating patterns, be it the attack cycles or how the boss moves. Do this enough time you will eventually develop muscle memory for it.
Amazing words as always Myra, I completely agree. Putting all your brain power to learning the boss itself instead of just winging it is an unparalled strategy to figuring out bosses fast.
Ye. This is also useful because you won't get surprised by new attacks that you've never seen if you skipped through boss phases too fast. Also some bosses do self-destruct like Exo mechs, better just dodge and let them die xd
I,ve got close to 6000 hours on terraria and consider myself a good player, and still havent really put all that much effort into dodging. Ive never been a bullet hell guy but i just love terraria but after watching your videos, I just can't describe it but you make it seem so much more attainable. Thank you.
Glad you think so, haha! One of my goals is to push the Terraria bullet hell scene past its limit, even if it's just a bit, and I hope other's will follow suit someday. I think Modded Terraria is just such an incredible outlet for this stuff.
Nah bro, even at my peak King Slime would give me the work. The number of times I underestimated how big and juicy he is and then getting sat on and killed is far too many.
@@YARDlSvanilla king slime isn't too bad, but cal KS is a different story, the teleport in front cam catch you off guard if you don't have an internal timer for it
I can see that this took an immense amount of effort to create, and I applaud you for putting in as much work as you have. It's always heartwarming to see smaller (sorry, lol) TH-camrs putting so much effort into their videos - especially when it's so obviously focused on their community's interests rather than their own. I would like to suggest that you, when you update this map eventually, add variation to the lengths and widths of the spaces in each of your obstacle courses, so as to prevent the development of muscle memory that may hinder your training. As the courses stand right now, there is little to no variation, meaning zero adaptation or reactivity is being trained once you have become accustomed to the courses - meaning these courses will become a means to an end, rather than a steady method that would be reliable for long-term practice. Granted, any set obstacle course that does not move around like true projectiles would will develop such muscle memory, but it would be a worthy alternative if you can find the time to build it. Just my two cents, you've certainly done an infinite amount more than anyone else has bothered to - so I'm not bashing you at all. Thought I might voice my thoughts in case you hadn't considered the variation problem. If you have and just decided you'd rather not, fair game to you :) Great video, earned a like and subscription from me.
First I'd like to thank you for the in-depth comment! Love it when people take the time to drop thought-out comments like these, haha. Thanks for acknowledging my efforts and no offense taken for calling me a smaller TH-camr, it's simply true (for now, heh). Great suggestions, I greatly agree with all of them! Not sure if you checked my description, but I did acknowledge how basic and weak the obstacle course currently is, and I already plan on updating it eventually. I'll definitely use your comment as reference whenever I finally update it, haha. Having everything be so linear and similar will definitely lead to long-term muscle memory issues if used for too long. Welp, anyway, thank you for the great comment and support!
i've never really thought much about how to dodge or improve at it but i see now that i was looking at it from a bad perspective. up until now i really only either look near my character or at the boss/whatever projectiles are coming, and it worked so far, i've even beaten eternity mode and was itching to start infernum, but seeing this video worked as sort of an eye opener. thanks for the great tips.
Coming from both Touhou (2017, all games yhat were playable on windows) and Hollow Knight (in 2022, got it as a gift), both games gave benefits to dodging, Hollow Knight has gravity, while Touhou helps with, dodging more Touhou was the series that made me think I wasn't on Malice mode as the bosses seemed too easy, it really helps, even if the gravity is different, you get used to it in Terraria (Though if gravity keeps screwing you, either more Terraria practice is needed, or Hollow Knight) I've played Undertale too, just, it never helped much since you don't fight any bosses in confined spaces... (There's Golem, but, it's Golem...) Personally I prefer making my movement in all directions as equal as possible, it feels more similar to Touhou, and gives higher degrees of movement, (dashes I don't use as often since it's lead to a few incidents, plus, no boss requires a dash) some ways to do that would be: Using helpful items like the Portal Gun, or Slime Mounts to increase falling speed, or Feather Fall potions, or the Umbrella to decrease it Use the wings or boots that have high acceleration and max speed, (you sacrifice some flight time, but... Soaring Insignia, if you're playing a mod that removes infinite flight, it most likely also has wings that are better, and grant more flight time than vanilla ones) Alternatively, the Gravitation Potion with the Portal Gun or a Slime Mount allows fast vertical movement in any direction, though needs lots of practice For fast circular movement, the Anti-Gravity Hook helps, though you need something to grapple onto, and some planning is involved Use movement items that allow you to stop quickly, from the Ice Rod (that can go very badly, but it works), Grappling Hooks, or movement accesories There are also many types of dodging, such as dodging without wings using platforms, dodging with dashes, dodging by outrunning the enemy, dodging by teleportation, ans more Also, use a weapon that doesnt cover the screen, other projectiles, or is too distracting, or does too little damage, homing helps Razorpine, Resonance Sceptre, Rainbow Rod, Clorophyte Bullets, Nanite Bullets, some Summon Weapons, some Sentries, Whips without projectiles, are all good options, and there's more too With these, you can beat any boss (though items differ slightly in mods)
"Made me think I wasn't on Malice mode as the bosses seemed too easy" Average touhou player dodging RAIN irl moment. Jokes aside, very good and detailed explanation. Thanks
Insanely helpful! Also, what mod are you using to make bosses have an insane amount of projectiles? I know in an earlier version there was serveralfold projectiles but it hasn’t been ported.
Thank you! And haha... unfortunately all the background footage is just my old videos... I await for a new mod to replace severalfold projectiles or for the creator to port it... I miss it dearly.
Agreed. Its called sight-reading technique Sightreading is also crucial on predicting where the attacks going, which is good since you dont have to really thinking hard as long you know the pattern and its behavior its a technique that when you look at the obstacle within millisecond and execute wether where you moving and where the obstacle/attack is going... it takes less toll on your mind and not exhausting than literal reflex dodge... its perfect for ppl who want take a boss that takes longer to beat... reflex dodge takes a alot of toll on your mind and make you exhaust yourself faster. It's good for training your mind, but its not good for first timer...
Yardis… after watching your old tutorial I have now become the goat of terraria… I will use this new knowledge to surpass my limits and become something even greater… I thank you for always teaching me ⚡️🐐
Great video, but I wanted to say, since it stuck out to me, that I actually did use no momentum for the first time I beat Fargo's Mutant. Back then (not really that long ago), I didn't have the same level of dexterity and finnese required to move correctly with momentum. It felt like a safety net, not having to worry about my momentum when moving about. Either way, great video and I will be patiently wait for new conent (hopefully) soon ❤
Glad you enjoyed! No momentum is just preference, haha. It's actually quite good if you're used to it, it was just such a contrasting change at the time that I decided I wouldn't use it, since my muscle memory was not used to it.
When using the "Soul of Dimensions, I don't know why, but I literally go so fast to the point where I can't even control my horizontal movements, is there ANYWAY to get rid of this issue? Or is this just something that they added recently??? EDIT: I did figure out about the flight mastery soul, will it be as good as the soul of dimensions?
ok so I'm not insane at dodging or anything but i have nohit some basic stuff so i just wanna like mention some stuff pogo stick is another alternative to slimy saddle that I've seen some people use (I personally dont use mounts so idk, but you can try it out if you wanna) I think personally playing some touhou games helped me be better at knowing how to dodge bullet patterns and get used to micrododging even though the movement is different, id say it can be a good learning experience I am a huge featherfall fan, especially if playing on defiled I dont know how people play without it..., Personally I am Really bad at switching controls so i just could not get used to using W for jump or a dash rebind looking at other people's nohits can be really useful cause nohitting is very much about having a strategy and knowing what to actually do for each part Something i surprisingly dont see anyone using is an input display, input displays look really cool and can also be useful when watching vids, id recommend it tbh (i wrote this all extremely tired so i couldnt be bothered to have proper grammar or anything i hope its readable)
Great two cents, especially for being tired when writing it, haha. What I was trying to get across in the video when talking about how I think playing other games is overrated for improvement is that people swear by it too much, simply telling one another if they're struggle to "just play Touhou." Playing any bullet hell game will definitely give a lot more transfer than I acknowledged in this video, being able to read the bullet trajectories/patterns transfers very well, like you said. That's the main thing I wanted to clarify. Smaller stuff now, I believe that Pogo Stick is just slower than Slimy Saddle, but I believe the main benefit is that it doesn't mess up your hitbox and have risk of midair bouncing? Could be wrong, I've only tested it briefly. I'm sure defiled is infinitely harder (I'll be having some hands-on experience soon...) without featherfall... It's alright to feel like you're not very good at switching controls, I'd argue most people are! For example, I still can't get used to using featherfall potions or any other key for dash besides shift, even after trying for many days. I might try out the input display for a video I got in the works, I think it'd make for more engagement, haha. Grammar was great in the comment if you were worried, except for dropping an apostrophe or two and the final sentence, where you used the incorrect "its," haha. Sorry for going English Teacher mode... Jokes aside, thanks for the thorough comment!
A tip I can give from what I've done so far (I've done nohits in the past, never uploaded to youtube, but there weren't many) is to turn off screenshake. For me it's distracting and makes it harder to see projectiles.
Personally, I'd recommend Gravity Potions and a Gravistar Sabaton. Most bosses aren't designed with this in mind, so it lets you dodge nearly everything.
My best tip if you miss it in the video: look directly at your character. You will see if anything are coming for you. Next: RESIST the urge to stand in the projectile lines, that indicate where the projectile go.
Love that my comment was included, I need to get back into terraria too busy taking 50 hours of my life to be not 50% done with an insane challenge in a different game. Yeah nothing can beat portal gun as my main form of different movement in any mod with post ml content, I wish it was post plant and sold by the cyborg so I could use it for eol
I think it might be the most underrated movement equip out there, so it'd be criminal to gate keep it with how good it is. I think it'd completely destroy EoL, haha, so I'm kinda glad it's Post-ML. (6 Nameless Deities almost always crashes my game btw, gonna have to try sometime to see if there's a way to do it regardless, haha)
Before my recent Calamity playthrough, i never got passed the Profaned Guardians on a normal softcore world. This was about a year ago. Then i decided to do something stupid. I went and made a *Master* mode world and turned on Revengeance. Managed to make it to just before DoG and Old Duke, but thats where i felt my skill topped out at. Even used a mod item to turn it to a normal world and turned off Revengeance, still couldnt beat DoG. So i scrapped the world and the character (since if i couldnt beat DoG, how could i beat Yharon or Calamitas?). Now I'm doing something dumb again; Calamity + The Stars Above on Expert. Gonna use your advice and finally actually beat this damn mod. May not be on the level of Infernum, but i know my limits lol.
3:45 I second that HK is great to get better at Terraria! Literally the main reason I can beat end game infernum bosses is because of Hollow Knight's bosses. Without that game i would be even more horrendous at Terraria than I actually am lol
Make a large platform arena and stock up on gravitational potions, this means flight time won't be an issue and the platforms allow grappling for more complicated movements
Just gonna ramble on a bit here. Im someone with a lot of in death knowledge on terraria calamity specifically, i also have a lot of hours in it, around 11,000 total, and 6,000 in just calamity. Thanks to all the time ive spent pn the game i have a good base line muscle memory for the gravity compensation and dashing in it, with most other average movement tech as well, so i can consistently do most things in the game. And as a but if an odd fact i learned about myself in the kadt year or so, is that if i watch a video of a boss fight ir a genetic playthrough, with no very advansed movenet like nax acceleration, i can experience the things in the video as if i was playing it myself, by just watching it, since i can subconsciously translate the actions in the video and relate it to my own extensive muscle memory. As the most recent example i can think of, is the release of Nameless Deity, where i could kill it 1st try with the exoblade a weaponthat'stechnically1 tier below the intended shadowspek tier, with no actual experience in the fight, after watching 2 normal 5 minute kills on the boss. I tose 10 minutes total of video i watched i could mostly memorize the patterns and the general movements to dodge them, than put all that in to practise in an actual fight, during the end of my Exoblade crafting tree weapons only challenge run on death mode. Im not sure if im the only one who can gain actual in game experience fro just watching videos, since I've never heard of anyone like this before. Sadly this isn't a solve all solution fir because a god, since the movement and actions need to be something ive done extecively at one point or another in my 11k hour of gameplay, so something like high flight speeds with max acceleration like in the case of Yardis, is something i can't relate to my muscle memory, since it's just too volatile when compared to what I'm used to. But i can still mostly replicate mobility from an actually builds that don't focus on full mobility relatively well. Something like no-hitting is on the table for sure, but i genuinely find it tedious to do. While i have the knowledge and experience for bosses, but going through the attempts to get good enough luck that my brain and boss bothe make the same correct decision at the same time for the entire fight, seems and us very tedious to me, so i have no intrest in it. And honestly i find the idea of doing no-hits rather boring in concept, since there are a lot more interesting ways to shake up a playthrough than that, over 130 ways so far to be exact, i have a list of 90 some different challenge run ideas for calamity, and another dozen text files with multiple different umbrella ideas thathave multiple runs under them, so i have over 130 of them now, and if on average it takes me 25 hours per run, than that's 3250 hours worth of stuff to still do insted of boring and grindy no hits. The challenge run im currently doing is in simple terms just triple every spawn, this is not just 3x spawn rate, but rather normal spawn rates, where every tome am entity spawnz 3 of the spawn at the same time, there positions ate flipped horizontally, and this includes things like enemies, bosses, npcs amd evem most destroyable projectiles. So you cam get telefraged easily by anything, and also means that i need to fight triple bosses, where each boss spawns triple the minions each, for a total of 9 times the minions. Right now im working on triple Old Duke.
Haha, honestly, I'm in a similar boat. I don't find no hitting to be very fun at all and haven't pursued that many in my long career. I just enjoy general dodging, not no hitting exactly. Your triple enemy challenge sounds like a lot of fun! I'm glad you're someone who doesn't just conform to the norm.
@@YARDlS I literally can't play calamity normally, after all my hours, so I started to to only do challenge runs, And if you are curious about the triple boss run, I post the boss fights on TH-cam, and stream the entire run. Also the mod I use to have 3x spawns is Multispawn.
I could link it to workshop but didn't want to give my personal Steam account out to TH-cam quite yet and was too lazy to make a new Steam account, haha. It's only downloadable through the description for now.
tip (not quite a pro ig): for anyone trying to do infernum dog, another good bind is alt, i used it for my run and it really really helped. i still use it way after infernum but it destrroyed my pinky sometimes when i pressed too hard
my first nohit was master+death nighttime providence. it took me many weeks to pull it off, but in the long run, I feel like I'm so much better at the game than before. sometimes being an overachiever works out.
Okay, question: How many boss attempts do you think might be required from zero to somewhat competent at dodging a certain boss? I remember that SCal took me 15 attempts to finally beat. Just the most ordinary SCal (No Revengence one, though on expert world) About the same amount of attempts on DoG, or daytime EoL
if you plan to update your obstacle course, can you add an challenge that combines vertical and horizontal movement (im not good at making suggestions but ill assume you get what i mean)
When I try to dodge. I'll let my screen close and stare at a character. It help me focus more. And try to fight boss and learn their pattern and sound when they release their skill. Some boss not have a same pattern over and over but that's okay. As long as you have a hints of what's coming, you'll react before it comes to you. But boss like calamitus or supreme calamitus that have phase like bullet hell dodge is still pain in my arse.
You got this! I forgot to mention a few more tips, I just realized... like isolating specific parts of the bosses you're having issues with... welp, dodging guide number 3 is coming sooner than I thought.
im pretty good at dodging but if there is alot of projectiles, my brain just freezes or goes "oh theres a bullet right there gotta move away from it" then "oh i just went into a bullet gotta go the other way" until I die
I got some really ugly ass hands (nice and scarred up), so probably never, haha, I'm too shy. Once I have enough money to upgrade my TH-cam set up, it won't be impossible.
i like to dodge practice with empress i usually fight her in every playthrough both normal and day time to see how good my dodging has been, so far after 20 tries i beat her, sure it won't help much in the long run, but when it comes to dodging attacks more then trying to see at the same time in how many tries i kill empress this time, actual tip, don't look at the boss (i know terrible advice for i play ranger a lot-) but if dodging is what you seek i find looking at the character allows you to see and focus more on projectiles closer to you, if that doesn't work then that's probably just for a few people including myself edit: man, i should stop commenting before fully finishing videos.
Hi Yardis I heard you read all your comments and wanted to say thank you for reading this. I hope you are having a great day and I wanted to thank you for such an informative guide
Normality Relocator and God Slayer Dash are very useful tools if you don't use them already, True Melee overall is pretty bad now after the new changes though so you just gotta thug it out IG.
Grubby is a tough one, especially since his AI is similar to THE LORDE's in how it changes often. Sorry brother, Grubby is the single boss I got no tips for, I have too much trouble myself to give any advice.
@@YARDlS (I swear I'm not chronically online) Aww, thank you anyways for the video! Maybe if I practice after school I can manage to beat him in expert mode some day! I only BARELY managed to beat grubby Post-SCal on normal mode, I just don't get how people can beat him on expert, let alone master mode.
Hey, what CPU do you use? I tried doing a pretty large modpack and my game is lagging pretty bad. Your game seems to run pretty well, so I thought I'd ask. (I am using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core)
What would you advise for lava shark (I love lava shark best pre-boss vanilla mount, but it struggles with some of these modded bosses based around nonsense like wings)
Haha I've never met a Lava Shark enjoyer, just use it if you like it, it's for sure viable for some stages of the game. I won't lie to you though it's in no way the meta.
one of my worst problems is for some reason i go on the direction of the projectile or the attack ,why? my brain think i would be faster than a light speed projectile :)
Glad you clarified which NNN, haha. Nah, you're right. What I mean in the video is that the transfer isn't nearly as great as some people think. Infernum DoG for example is nothing like any Touhou stage.
as someone who has a shit ton of hours on this game but is decent but still pretty mid at dodging (my best achievement is beating infernum ;-;) I don't know how easily I will get accustomed to building acceleration and just being super confident in my dodging but I'll have to practice these vids helped a lot especially flying with W
Haha, beating Infernum is already achievement enough. Honestly I'm purely a dodge player, so that's why I use the equipment that I use, I do not recommend it at all for serious playthroughs/nohits.
hey do you recommend any other games to improve dodging? I don't have a problem with terraria (It's my most played game) but do you know any other games that are good for practice?
I briefly talked about it in the comment review section, but here's a bigger list in no particular order: - Hallow Knight (the best imo) - Geometry Dash - Touhou - Undertale - Late Game Maplestory (absolute curveball LOL DO NOT RECOMMEND) - Any bullet hell really (helps with pattern recognition and stuff, some stuff translates, some stuff doesn't) - osu! (sounds weird but helps with how fast you can click and aim) Thanks for the support!
@@KompadoodleLEL Well, nothing translates perfectly to Terraria besides Terraria. Hollow Knight is helpful since it's kinda similar to Infernum Mode in a way, you have to understand boss mechanics and patterns before defeating them. Also helps that it has the forces of acceleration factor. GD helps if you use your left hand and/or your middle finger often, assuming you have your jump bound to W me. Just can help with speed/reaction time overall. Nothing huge or anything, haha, but some things do translate.
when your in a boss fight do you ever actually look AT your character to see you will dodge the attack or just at the empty spaces and the projectiles etc? also this guide is amazing and truly a hidden gem. im sure you will find great success if you keep up the good work!
I check back at my character periodically but otherwise I'm mainly looking at empty spaces and projectiles trajectories. When things get really precise I'll look much more at my character though. Thank you, I'll keep working!
@@YARDlS the fact that you actually are checking back at these comments to help players like me is incredible, you have helped a lot of the community and im sure many can agree with me. one more thing, if you plan on doing a part 3 video like this, a section with an eye tracker against bosses with live commentary would be awesome. once again thank you for this video and good luck on your endeavors!
Really helpful vid. I was also trying out double speed nameless deity to see how far i needed to go. I will keep trying it for a while in hopes of mastering it but i cant seem to understand the javelin attack which is the transition between phase 1 and 2. I mostly try to keep moving left with slight taps to the right to get in between javelins but its not only inconsistent, but also hard to get used to so i was wondering if there was a strategy for this
Glad you think it helped! For double speed Nameless Deity's spear attacks, I actually just bounced on him with the Slimy Saddle, haha. It seems to be pretty inconsistent as well, but it worked more often then not.
tip from a master:

Touhou was the series that made me think I wasn't on Malice mode as the bosses seemed too easy, it really helps, even if the gravity is different, you get used to it in Terraria
(Though if gravity keeps screwing you, either more Terraria practice is needed, or Hollow Knight)
I've played Undertale too, just, it never helped much since you don't fight any bosses in confined spaces...
(There's Golem, but, it's Golem...)
Personally I prefer making my movement in all directions as equal as possible, it feels more similar to Touhou, and gives higher degrees of movement, (dashes I don't use as often since it's lead to a few incidents, plus, no boss requires a dash) some ways to do that would be:
Using helpful items like the Portal Gun, or Slime Mounts to increase falling speed, or Feather Fall potions, or the Umbrella to decrease it
Use the wings or boots that have high acceleration and max speed, (you sacrifice some flight time, but... Soaring Insignia, if you're playing a mod that removes infinite flight, it most likely also has wings that are better, and grant more flight time than vanilla ones)
Alternatively, the Gravitation Potion with the Portal Gun or a Slime Mount allows fast vertical movement in any direction, though needs lots of practice
For fast circular movement, the Anti-Gravity Hook helps, though you need something to grapple onto, and some planning is involved
Use movement items that allow you to stop quickly, from the Ice Rod (that can go very badly, but it works), Grappling Hooks, or movement accesories
There are also many types of dodging, such as dodging without wings using platforms, dodging with dashes, dodging by outrunning the enemy, dodging by teleportation, ans more
Also, use a weapon that doesnt cover the screen, other projectiles, or is too distracting, or does too little damage, homing helps
Razorpine, Resonance Sceptre, Rainbow Rod, Clorophyte Bullets, Nanite Bullets, some Summon Weapons, some Sentries, Whips without projectiles, are all good options, and there's more too
With these, you can beat any boss (though items differ slightly in mods)
"Made me think I wasn't on Malice mode as the bosses seemed too easy"
Average touhou player dodging RAIN irl moment.
I’m pretty sure in those cases Yardis is just spawning several bosses at once.
He's just spawning alot of one boss with hero's mod
i would say that adaptability is key
Haha, unfortunately 3 words can't make a video, so here we are.
That's an mahoraga moment
right when i saw the obstacle course i scrolled down in an instant to download it
Let me know if there's any issues!
Thanks Yardis now i can finally practice to beat providence
You got this!
@@YARDlSUpdate: I got him ( I had to lock in🤫🧏)
Agreed. Its called sight-reading technique
Sightreading is also crucial on predicting where the attacks going, which is good since you dont have to really thinking hard as long you know the pattern and its behavior
its a technique that when you look at the obstacle within millisecond and execute wether where you moving and where the obstacle/attack is going... it takes less toll on your mind and not exhausting than literal reflex dodge... its perfect for ppl who want take a boss that takes longer to beat... reflex dodge takes a alot of toll on your mind and make you exhaust yourself faster. It's good for training your mind, but its not good for first timer...
Great analysis!
Thank you for all ! You are just so good on terraria ! And thanks you for tips about it ^^
Thank you too! Glad you enjoyed :)
insane video i should take some notes once i start playing terraria again
Haha, appreciate it! Game isn't going anywhere, you can come back anytime :)
I’ll see you for soa when that releases :).
Yardis… after watching your old tutorial I have now become the goat of terraria… I will use this new knowledge to surpass my limits and become something even greater… I thank you for always teaching me ⚡️🐐
Haha, make me proud!
Something I did was use the Gravistar Sabaton for fast downward movement, because slimy saddle was too much for my brain to handle lol
It's actually quite good if you're used to it, it was just such a contrasting change at the time that I decided I wouldn't use it, since my muscle memory was not used to it.
thanks for linking the world download
Let me know if there are any issues!
When using the "Soul of Dimensions, I don't know why, but I literally go so fast to the point where I can't even control my horizontal movements, is there ANYWAY to get rid of this issue? Or is this just something that they added recently???
EDIT: I did figure out about the flight mastery soul, will it be as good as the soul of dimensions?
ok so I'm not insane at dodging or anything but i have nohit some basic stuff so i just wanna like mention some stuff
pogo stick is another alternative to slimy saddle that I've seen some people use (I personally dont use mounts so idk, but you can try it out if you wanna)
I think personally playing some touhou games helped me be better at knowing how to dodge bullet patterns and get used to micrododging even though the movement is different, id say it can be a good learning experience
I am a huge featherfall fan, especially if playing on defiled I dont know how people play without it...,
Personally I am Really bad at switching controls so i just could not get used to using W for jump or a dash rebind
looking at other people's nohits can be really useful cause nohitting is very much about having a strategy and knowing what to actually do for each part
Something i surprisingly dont see anyone using is an input display, input displays look really cool and can also be useful when watching vids, id recommend it tbh
(i wrote this all extremely tired so i couldnt be bothered to have proper grammar or anything i hope its readable)
I like no-hitting, but I wonder if I should keep doing game challenge stuff b/c of the time investment.
At the end of the day just make sure nothing takes time from the important stuff, haha.
Its true what you said about your brain adapting, no way to really explain it unless you practice and experience it yourself
Yeah, some things can't be explained in words.
tips : If you are lagging a lot then use that to your advantage since you are practically in slow mode.
I never thought to rebind my dash, thank you.
It's in the mod controls settings and there are a few standalone mods for it!
Genuinely thank u man
Always glad to be of help!
My best tip if you miss it in the video: look directly at your character. You will see if anything are coming for you.
Next: RESIST the urge to stand in the projectile lines, that indicate where the projectile go.
YOU ARE LITERALY A LIFE SAVER NOBODY ELSE DOES THIS
Haha, glad I was of some help :)
@@YARDlS how do i get the terraria world files out of the google drive?
There should be a download button in the top right corner of the website!
@@YARDlSdah it’s a shame I’d accept a compromise of 3, I tried it just one nearly explodes my computer 3 is a powerpoint and 4 is a crash
@@zoraiaero Haha, well I'll try to figure it out for a bit longer, if it doesn't work I'll just do however many works.
Best wishes and I hope you have fun!
Tip from a master: if you are good at bullet hells, use Draedon’s chair
"Throughout sky and hell, i alone am the terrarian one"
Autopause users: Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power!
3:45 I second that HK is great to get better at Terraria! Literally the main reason I can beat end game infernum bosses is because of Hollow Knight's bosses. Without that game i would be even more horrendous at Terraria than I actually am lol
Yep! In my opinion HK is probably the best skill transfer out of all the big games.
great video and awesome choice of music
Thank you for enjoying and appreciating the music choice :)
Make a large platform arena and stock up on gravitational potions, this means flight time won't be an issue and the platforms allow grappling for more complicated movements
Aether monolith can help in some situations if the projectiles blend with the background, like with brimstone elemental on the crags.
100% brother, love this tip
as someone who has almost NoHit the entirety of infernum, a good strategy i have found is not getting hit.
Indeed, a great strategy to not getting hit is to not get hit. If that doesn't work, you can always just not get hit.
pretty helpful and well put together. :)
Glad you think so, thank you!
@@YARDlS I literally can't play calamity normally, after all my hours, so I started to to only do challenge runs,
And if you are curious about the triple boss run, I post the boss fights on TH-cam, and stream the entire run.
Also the mod I use to have 3x spawns is Multispawn.
I learn a lot from you, and btw can you put the map on sream or is that not a thing.
Thanks you for the tips they are amazing
Happy to help!
my first nohit was master+death nighttime providence. it took me many weeks to pull it off, but in the long run, I feel like I'm so much better at the game than before. sometimes being an overachiever works out.
100%, and wow, that is indeed quite the first nohit to tackle.
Okay, question:
How many boss attempts do you think might be required from zero to somewhat competent at dodging a certain boss?
I remember that SCal took me 15 attempts to finally beat.
Just the most ordinary SCal (No Revengence one, though on expert world)
About the same amount of attempts on DoG, or daytime EoL
I want to play in the Auric Tesla Bouncy Castle
if you plan to update your obstacle course, can you add an challenge that combines vertical and horizontal movement (im not good at making suggestions but ill assume you get what i mean)
nice touhou jazz soundtrack ;)
Immaculate taste for noticing :)
damn i can barely beat maso mode abominationn. this is gonna help so much
Lowkey I had more trouble with Masomode Abominationn than I did with Masomode Mutant during my first run, haha.
I hope i can get better after learning from this. I'm still struggling with Infernum Exo Mech and Supreme Calamitas
You got this! I forgot to mention a few more tips, I just realized... like isolating specific parts of the bosses you're having issues with... welp, dodging guide number 3 is coming sooner than I thought.
@@YARDlSThanks!
video summary: "just dodge it bro"
im pretty good at dodging but if there is alot of projectiles, my brain just freezes or goes "oh theres a bullet right there gotta move away from it" then "oh i just went into a bullet gotta go the other way" until I die
I find that not attacking with attacks that I struggle dodging makes it less chaotic and I can focus more easily
Haha yeah! Same reason for summoner class' strengths.
Oh hey it is the guy who made the dodging guide

@@YARDlS Thats unfortunate, hope it will happen one day tho lol your movement looks so precise
tip for games overall is when you're tired you can't play that well so not pulling all nighters trying something hard is just an overall smart idea
100%, it's the same across pretty much every skill or whatever you're trying to progress on, rest is key!
Bro pulled another fire (Insert fire emoji here becuz my keyboard doesn't have it)
Basically how I understood this video: grow better eyes and more fingers
Would be quite convenient 🤔
i like to dodge practice with empress i usually fight her in every playthrough both normal and day time to see how good my dodging has been, so far after 20 tries i beat her, sure it won't help much in the long run, but when it comes to dodging attacks more then trying to see at the same time in how many tries i kill empress this time, actual tip, don't look at the boss (i know terrible advice for i play ranger a lot-) but if dodging is what you seek i find looking at the character allows you to see and focus more on projectiles closer to you, if that doesn't work then that's probably just for a few people including myself

No worries, your advice is sound too! I believe when you're really have trouble looking at your character is best.
