One of my favourite graphics packages was Aldus SuperPaint 3.0. Not sure if it was compatible with the version of Mac OS 7.1 you have there, but as I recall, I was using Mac OS 7.x with SuperPaint on my MacBook 180c.
IF you have SuperPaint, you could do a whole segment on it, it's that nice a program that has never been replaced. It had a draw layer and a paint layer. You could draw things, then cut them to the paint layer, or even cut parts of the paint layer to the draw layer. I used SuperPaint for simulations of interfaces and even for backgrounds for presentation slides. I really miss SuperPaint.
    Cheers!

Especially the video card that looks fine but doesn't work, the most common issues with a dead video card that doesn't let the computer turn on is a shorted capacitor that is really easy to get online as a pack of.

The cx was a rare limited edition. It was quickly replaced by the IIci which was much better and had a cache card slot as well as a snap-in removable power supply. Don’t know how I found you but so glad that I did.
Binge watching and I feel the need to get myself a bottle of methylated spirits and eucalyptus oil just to clean some old tech lying around at home 😍

That’s the first computer and operating system I ever used. We had them in my school computer/typing class.
Great videos by the way! I just subscribed.

I had that Mac when it came out! I don’t want to go back to os 7. There were so many extension conflicts. We had to use Conflict Catcher by Cassidy an d Greene to make it all work.

7:27 I enjoyed the Daleks game, although looking back the gameplay is extremely basic and it's difficult to really fail once you know how the game works. Still, always fun to trick the daleks into crashing into eachother.

how did you get a modern monitor to work on such old hardware?
I thought these things predated VGA let alone DVI
were you running some kind of adaptor?
Or was this machine made when VGA became standard?
Because I was also under the impression that mac stuff used an entirely video output standard altogether.

80 mb hard drive for 1989 is actually quite big. Our 386 was quite the beast in 1990 or was it 1991? And we only had half that, and I remember this being a big deal at the time.
